We got this to watch the house while traveling, and has worked great so far. This does not integrate with Google Home as we had previously thought, also the app can only be signed in with one phone at a time.

I love this camera. I currently use a different brand and I’m thinking of converting all to Lorex after using this cam. The best part is everything is accessible for free and the storage is built into your camera so you don’t have to worry about cloud storage and the fees. Alerts are super good. It will literally tell me my dog got up from the across the room and turned around to lay down. Play back is really quick. I like how you can turn on and off hearing what the camera hears and you can talk back with hitting the mic button on your app. Great for checking on your pet etc. picture quality is either standard definition or HD. HD is pretty crisp for a cam. Pan and tilt camera let’s me check an entire room Quickly. The app is pretty simple and has lots of features. You can use this over WiFi (like me) or plug it into a network cable. Setup was quick and after I downloaded the app and created an account all I had to do was scan the QR code with my phone/app and it did the rest (fast). Overall a great system and one that is great for many uses within a home. Can be used from baby/pet monitoring to protecting your home.

I purchased this item to monitor a vacation property . Set up was fairly intuitive . That being said it took about 1 1/2 hours to link. It worked wonderfully for 1 day. I could control the view from the phone and zoom in. I could take photos and record remotely. The device went offline within one day. I am no longer at the vacation property and I dot not believe I can remotely reset the item. I sent a message to Lorex by email. I have not heard back. It has been about 1 week. So at present it is not functioning as desired.

Love the 360' rotation, i can easily monitor areas with just 1 camera. Spec says work for 2.4 ghz but was surprised that it also works on 5 ghz without connecting a cable to the modem. 2 way communication is great.

I've used several brands of security cameras for home monitoring but have always felt that they are missing something because they just stare straight ahead or use a fish-eye lens to give a wide view. The Lorex is the first camera that I have used that has a true and proper pan and tilt function. By true, I mean it has a motor so the camera moves - both automatically or by user control. Will talk about that later.
Setup was easy. Plugin the camera, download the app, register, scan the QR code on your Lorex camera and it walks you through the setup. In about 5 minutes I was getting a video image to my phone. You can switch between HD/SD for different image quality.
A note on the setup, the app, and the camera both require a password during setup. Don't lose the password that you set for the Lorex camera as I'm not sure how you would recover that.
Everything you do on the Lorex camera is controlled from the app. You get fill pan and tilt. There's a slight lag, but nothing to complain about. You can set up the camera to auto-follow people, movement, and sound. In my tests, it worked well. It follows the biggest person in the field of view.
The camera has 2 way sound, in that it can listen and also broadcast from the inbuilt speaker. The broadcast was no issue, listening was minor static in my tests. This could be my network connection (I tested WiFi, mobile phone connection outside the house) or some other variable. The recording sounded OK, so not sure what the issue was.
Other useful things to know. You CAN use ethernet and the camera can be mounted on a wall/ceiling. It comes with all you need for wall/ceiling mounting. You would need to stay near a power outlet though, as the Lorex camera requires a power outlet (no battery support).
Overall, impressed. Also love that it has a 2-year warranty. If I didn't have the minor audio issue, would give it 5 stars.

A good versatile camera with pan and tilt feature

The Lorex camera is a simple indoor security camera which provides all the things you need in a compact easy to use package. The pan and tilt feature is very impressive at this price point. Setup and easy and quick with the Lorex home app - a QR code based pairing at the first instance make it convenient too.
The camera is versatile in the sense that since it can be mounted upside down in the ceiling (mounting bracket and screws are included), it can be potentially be installed in some pretty convenient places to cover a wide area. Whereas I had to deal with 2 non-panning/tilting cameras to cover my living area and still have blindspots, the Lorex camera solved the problem by itself.
One of the good feature is there's an external storage option (using MicroSD card), and it's already populated with 16GB as a starter kit. For realistic use a larger capacity one is a must (can be expanded up to 256GB).
The Lorex home app is very functional. The pan and tilt control is there, as well as a handy digital zoom function. But from my time in using it, and comparing to some of the apps of competitors at this price range, the app seemed a bit too bland and needs some polish to make the UI a little more intuitive. I hope this gets addressed in future updates.
For security alert there are a couple of triggers that can be set, like unusual movement detection and sound detection. When these happen a clip was sent to me via the app.
One of the issue I faced in the auto panning feature is sometimes when I had my ceiling fan spinning, it tended to focus only on that, even though people were moving around in it's field of view. There's an option in the app to define some zones where the camera should focus, but didn't seem to solve this.
All in all, it's a good camera with enough good features to consider it in this price range. The pan and tilt feature is a necessity if you have a large room that you want to cover.
One small complaint I want to make is the package arrived without any documentation (though a Quick Start Guide was supposed to be included), and I had to dig it up from the Lorex site (which is not the most user friendly one out there).

This Lorex HD WiFi Camera is great for keeping an eye on things. I got this Lorex to keep an eye on my kids who are doing online learning while my wife and I are at work. To begin with, it is very easy to set up. You will first need to download the Lorex app and it will guide you through the set up process. With the app you control the camera, viewing modes, streaming quality and you are able to use it to talk to whoever is in the room. I like that you can control the camera, guiding it in the direction you want it to point at. I also enjoy that you can clearly speak to the person/people in the room. The quality of the camera is pretty good and so is the mic. With the app I can go back and view the video that was triggered by motion in the room. Overall, if you are looking for a nice camera to keep an eye on your home then you need to consider getting this Lorex HD camera.

It has pan. It has tilt. IT DOES NOT HAVE ZOOM! It can only be used from a smartphone, which defeats the entire purpose of having a camera that I can access from my desktop. At no point did the description say that this could not be used except from a smartphone (it did say it COULD be used from a smartphone, but that is not t he same as saying it can ONLY be used from my smartphone!) At 73, my eyes cannot resolve the level of detail I need to see on the camera when all I have is a tiny smartphone screen. It only took me a couple hours to determine that it was unusable for me. Silly me, trusting the description was accurate.
The quality of the product is irrelevant if it cannot do the job it promised to do!

I got this camera to keep an eye on things while I was gone. I like the fact that you can move it around with the controls on your phone. It isn't super fast but fast enough. I am even able to watch my pup and make sure she isn't having a party while I am gone. The night vision on it is good for what it is. You can't make out colors but you can get the basic information on what someone looks like. It has a feature to sense people and to follow them if you enable the smart track and person detection features. I also enjoy that I can turn off notifications if I want. If it senses noise above a certain level it also starts to record. I am not sure if this works when the privacy mode is enabled. The privacy mode turns the camera off if desired and is also controlled through the app. It was easy to get set up and working took me just a few minutes. The only thing that lacked in my opinion was the directions. They were basic and got the job done but were not as detailed as they should be. It shows were the preinstalled memory card is but doesn't explain you have to pan/tilt the camera all the way down to access it. That would make it very easy for an impatient person to break the camera looking for it. Also the microphone seems to have some issues. Even when I went outside in the dead quiet and set my phone down you could still hear noises coming out of the camera...not to good when you are trying to listen without being detected (like trying to find out if the dog is barking/crying) Overall its not a bad item just could use a few tweaks. It works decently for what I wanted.

I like this indoor security camera. But I also have some dislikes. First my dislikes, the two-way communication doesn’t work all the time, with first set up it did than here and there it worked to now it doesn’t at all. The notifications are not accurate. It’s supposed to alert you when someone enters the area where the camera is facing. I have been getting notifications every couple of minutes saying there is activity in the area and when you look nothing is there. While I appreciate the alert it’s getting cumbersome to receive so many alerts with no activity. For my likes, app is real user friendly, the video quality is clear, the sound from the video is clear, I love that I can control from the app moving the camera around to get different angles. The camera pans out at least 20-30 ft from location which I think is a good range. And it’s has a wide angle that you can get a great view of a large area. The camera is small in size so can easily tuck in a corner without being noticed. If you want to allow anyone else to have access to view the live video feed they must create their own account through the app and you will have to add a shared user. Came across this with my husband when he was logged in and I tried to log in, it kicked him out of the app. This should be updated, should be able to be logged in on more than one device with the same login. So far even with the couple of dislikes, the likes are better and I will get a couple of more to place around our house. It’s a good buy.

Lorex did a nice job with this one! I needed a camera for the back patio overhang. And this was perfect. The pan and tilt were just what I needed to be able to see my backyard. It was very easy to install. The companion app needs a little fine-tuning but all in all, once I got it up and going the resolution blew me away. Very good picture quality and camera control. Definitely worth checking out!!!

Finally a home security camera I want and easy enough to use. The installation went fairly smooth. I would say don't plug it until you plan to install it. I had to reset it by unplugging it. I also had issues if it was too close to the wifi connection. I'm excited that I can see and talk from my phone. I like that this can be upgraded as well. There is plenty of related documentation and related information also available from their website but not required to just get it setup. The pan and scan features are impressive and feels a little futuristic. I like that I can turn off the LED so that when I away it would look like it is not working but very much available. It would have been nice if it came with a larger micro SD card but is acceptable based on the cost. If you don't want to purchase expensive equipment but not sacrifice features this is a great set to use. I will be looking to buy more for my home. I have found the company I trust for these products.
