Great price but installation instructions vague. Took several phone calls with tech support to get installed. Tech support was very helpful, spoke English and very patient .

This is the most difficult thermostat ever created. Even my HVAC guy had trouble figuring it out. Too many areas to enter, not easy to change a setting and manual is useless. We were never able to connect to the internet to use the app. For me it was a total waste of money.

I was hoping this would be an easy install. I am pretty handy for an older woman but I did not have the correct wiring (my fault for not checking beforehand). It required calling in my HVAC guy to install the unit. When I received the thermostat and realized my error, I emailed the company to see what they recommended and I have STILL have not heard back so I trudged forward without their input (poor customer service from my experience).
Due to a 2-week quarantine restriction on my part, it took a little while before I could get someone over. Even the professional found installation difficult if it's not a straight set up. Definitely use Lux’s online guide before buying to see what units are compatible with your wiring. It will save you a LOT of headaches and extra cost in the long run.
Once we had a C-wire run through the walls and some fumbling with the wiring, we were able to get power to the unit (wahoo!).
I have seen other reviews say and I agree- I'm not crazy about the buttons. There are only three and you need to scroll to get to what you want. I am thinking they assume most people will be using the app and now that I am connected, that is how I will control the unit.
Connecting to my Wi-Fi took a few tries. That isn't unusual in my house when connecting new appliances for some reason so I can't say that is the app's fault.
Once connected, I did like the app. It is nice to be able to change the temp and see the house temperature even when not home. It is too cold for AC but I am looking forward to programming that next spring as well.
I have not tried connecting to my google home system yet. That will be the next adventure!
Overall, it's not a bad unit but with so many choices for programable thermostats with accompanying apps, because of my existing wiring, I will probably choose something else for my basement level thermostat.

My wife and I were very excited to get this thermostat. In our house, the bedrooms are upstairs and the thermostat is downstairs. For my wife, the prospect of being able to change the temperature from bed and not having to walk downstairs every night was exciting.
Everything you need is in the box. Installation is very simple. Make sure your wiring has the C-wire! There is a work around if your doesn't, but I don't consider myself qualified to open up the AC and start tinkering around with the wiring. Thankfully mine has the C-wire, so no call to the AC Tech was needed, lol.
This thermostat has all the bells and whistles I need. For the first time we have our thermostat set on a schedule for those times where we are always out of the house. The app has a geofencing feature that will go into an efficiency mode to help reduce your electric bill. My wife is thrilled that she is able to change the temp without getting out of bed. The thermostat also connects to Alexa or Google Assistant so all you have to do is call out to change your temp.
All in all, you can't go wrong with this thermostat. It works very well and does everything we need it to do. Now lets see what it does to my power bill!

I was excited to have a “smart” thermostat and especially one that connects to Alexa. Since my current thermostat is about 25 years old, I didn’t have the proper wiring required for this installation. Even the provided p-wire would not work. After looking at the other options, power bridge or c-wire power adapter I chose the power adapter. Unfortunately, neither the thermostat nor the framing plate has any grooves to allow for this wire that needs to plug into a power outlet. I had to be careful not to tighten the screws to much as to not crush the wire. Other than that, installation was easy enough.
Once it was installed, it was time to set up using the app. I was able to get through it without too much fuss. The thermostat’s display is bright but all functionality is done by 3 buttons and these aren’t very intuitive. Case in point: this morning my husband woke up and it was too cold in the house. He attempted to use the thermostat to turn on the heat. In the process of attempting to change settings he somehow managed to take the thermostat offline. It took me about 20 minutes with the app and trying to start setup from scratch to get it back online. The app is much better however.
The app does handle settings and changes better however the “dial” feels like it should spin like a bezel on a watch, but really you just click a line or two up to adjust higher then a line or two down to lower. Changing Modes: auto, heat or cool is so much easier to do via app. And those settings are easily viewable in the app as well: Mode, Schedule, and Fan settings. I love the statistics as well to see temp changes and the amount the fan runs on any given hour.
One thing I’m really disappointed about is that it isn’t connecting to Alexa. I have devices but I’ve yet to get a hub and maybe that’s the issue, however every time I ask Alexa to find new devices, it’s not finding the thermostat. I really was looking forward to having a smart thermostat, however if my husband can so easily take it offline with a few pushes of the buttons, maybe it needs some tweaking. Non-techie people do their research and find one that's more user friendly. I would only recommend to people that are good with technology and are upgrading from a non-smart thermostat. .

This is a pretty good thermostat. It was easy to install. Setup was simple using a smartphone. It is accurate. It has a modern art deco look to it. You can control it fairly easily directly via the three physical buttons, or you can use the app. It can also be linked to Google or Alexa. Overall I like this thermostat.
