    Worth the extra $$$

Improved and reduced key stroke. Quick response. TouchID is like the desktops version of FaceID. Still figuring out how useful it is at the moment. I’ve still had to type passwords.

This keyboard does more then just touch ID, it has page up - page down and a plethora of other things that I can't begin to tell you about, I just plain old love it.

I love using the keyboard with my apple device. The Touch ID is awesome and works every time I need to log in. I wanted the number key paid as well but if you don't use the numbers much I would probably do without to keep it from being so long on the desk.

The Touch ID integration is more handy than I originally thought. The keyboard has a sleek and low profile design making it easy to tuck away if needed. No problems with setup.

I've always been a clicky MX Blue type of person, my favorite keyboard of all time being the old NorthGate keyboards from the 90s. However I love the keyboard on my MacBook Pro and Touch ID. When I picked up a Mac Studio it just seems odd not to have it when purchasing online, logging in etc... I noticed they had one in stock at my local store so I went and got it... initially an impulse buy. Since purchasing about a month ago I have come to love this keyboard. Build quality is fantastic as is battery life. I've used it daily and after about a month it was still almost 70% charged. The other thing I've been pleasantly surprised with is how fast I can type on this. Using computers since the 70s I type quite fast. As noted I like loud keys with a lot of resistance and always have but this has been different. It's low enough you don't need a wrist rest for proper ergonomics. There is still decent travel with the keys and while the force needed to type is still present it's very quick. I've found I can type faster and more accurately with less ease on this than anything else. If you have an Apple silicon Mac and want an external keyboard you can't go wrong with this! Yes it's expensive but not any more than a nice gaming keyboard that, like this, will last you for many years to come. My only negative - no backlight. I expected it to have one like my MBP but it doesn't. I have a monitor light so it's not bad at night but I do miss it. I'm sure it would eat in to the batter life but I would have been ok with that.

4 stars because it's a bit pricy. But it works very well as a replacement for my older A1243 keyboard, and I like the feel. The TouchID works perfectly with my M1 Mac Mini.

Great upgrade to have the Touch ID, reduces need to typing password all the time. Works great, but need the new M silicon chips for it to work. Nice feel to the keys. Great like all apple products.

the keyboard does what it’s supposed to. is it worth $200? no. I’d say it’s worth no more than $150. the keyboard is nice and slim. touch id works perfect with my silicon mac. i bought this mainly because i’ve always enjoyed typing on apple keyboards and how minimally attractive they are. this black one is BEAUTIFUL in person.

Great Apple keyboard, especially when you don’t like using the MacBook keyboard. It’s a very good keyboard and I have had no issues with it. Great connection and everything.

Snappy keys and a wonderful Touch ID button are the only changes a new user might see coming from the previous generation magic keyboard. This keyboard holds its charge for a long time. This eliminating the cable, keeping your desk space looking clean.

    Replace After 2.5 Years Beware

If you buy this definitely get the warranty for it because they have a lifespan of about 2.5 years this will be my third keyboard in about 6 years. I bought this in 2023 and I am already feeling the keys skip or double typing letters. However, the touch button for PWs is a gamechanger! The seamless setup and connectivity of Apple to Apple will always win unfortunately.

Love this keyboard. Great action, nicely spacious, I just couldn’t live without a ten-key pad for a desktop setup. My Mac is from 2020 and doesn’t have the fingerprint configuration, but everything else about the keyboard synced right up when I plugged it in. Very happy I bought this.

A nice upgrade is one is using Apple silicone M1. M2, M3, Touch ID is an awesome feature. Pricey in comparison to the regular Magic KB & not worth it if you dont have an M1-M3 chip.

Setting up the Numeric Keypad was easy. It comes with a partly charge. It's a good idea to charge it with the charging cable that comes with even while using the keyboard with your computer. TouchID is an added bonus. Setup prompts you to complete. With TouchID you don't have to worry about typing in your password. However, each time you start your computer you have to log on. TouchID can be stopped and your computer will start without a password, but TouchID won't work.

    Typical Apple external keyboard

This a typical Apple keyboard with the same feel and look as all other external Apple keyboards for the past dozen or more years which I happen to like. its advantage is that it has Touch ID for the Apple silicon MacBooks and of course the number keypad and full size function and arrow keys. Its disadvantage is that that there is no background lighting unlike the MacBook keyboard panels.

Great Keyboard - bluetooth connectivity not best

Great Keyboard - works great with Macs and PC. Issue is w bluetooth. Multiple users in my home use same workstation to utilize 2nd monitor, keyboard and mouse with their laptop when they need to do "real work". The keyboard is a pain to keep connecting and reconnecting as users change. Often it simply won't bluetooth and then gets tossed aside and not used. Pretty pricey, with premium Apple brand name to just end up being tossed aside due to blue tooth connection issues. I expected more from this product. Apple care has not been able to correct after multiple chat sessions. I feel like I way overspent on this keyboard. I am considering going with a "logi" brand keyboard as the mice I have are bluetooth with three "stations" to switch to for multiple users as needed with a workstation type setup. Logi mice work perfectly, every time. Sorry Apple, this product is kind of a miss for me - and it cost me A LOT to learn this lesson as I cannot return the product.

I got the silver with black keys and it looks great. It has just about perfect key travel and is a pleasure to type on. Touch ID is a welcome feature and works great as well. Easy to charge with the included lightning cable and battery seems to last a long time. It’s a little pricey but I would definitely recommend.
