If you want to keep your old phone number and save a lot of money then magicjack is for you. If you don't care about keeping old number and have far fewer features than Obihai saves even more (using google voice number is free as is all local and national calls). research both to decide what is best for you.

We had troubles keeping our telephone number and was charged twice in the process. The issue still hasn't been resolved. I had to contact tech support to set it up properly and update the firmware using mac os x Yosemite because it wouldn't install properly with the standard installer on my system. Hopefully this is just a rare case and would go smoother for you. At this time I can't recommend this but it has potential to be nice.

Easy to setup. Took about 5 minutes to do the physical connections. The device is small so it can be placed out of sight. Account setup was also easy. It's hard to beat getting a full year's worth of telephone service for $35 some dollars. Small Caveat: In some cities like Chicago you have to pay an additional charge for 911 service.

I love this Majicjack . Service is paid for 1 year. I believe everyone should have this home phone service. I use it for my fax machine also.

I purchase magic jack plus because I can use it with out computer

This is our 2nd MagicJack to upgrade to a newer model. We started using MagicJack several years ago to replace our home phone which was part of our cable bill. It definitely has saved us money. We don't use our home phone a lot, so the price and convenience works fine for us. Voice quality is good; service is pretty good. We're satisfied!

Little harder to setup then advertised, did not work with router, pluged direct to computer.

Does the job and is easy to set up. Call quality is perfect.

their a good product but I have had a few of them fall on me.

The device was self explanatory and I didn't need any additional wires or connectors - everything was right there. I haven't had any negatives with using it.

I like everything about it, including the app which allows me to answer my home phone when I am away. The one downside is that I have to set my home phone to go to voicemail after 3 rings if I don't want it to go to the Magicjack voicemail because that is set at 4 rings and cannot be adjusted. Other than that, great product.

I had an older version of the MagicJack several years ago that I used for a second line. It worked well but was limited. This new version does not require it to be connected to a computer for it to work so it does a great job for my business phone line. I was even able to port over my Skype number so I didn't have to change phone numbers. The voice quality is very good.

I bought it because I didn't like the high monthly charges on my home phone. It's nice that my bill is 0 after my initial price

It works well with high speed internet.. At times quite a bit of static.. Good option for someone without a cell phone. $38/year is a fair price for Magic Jack device.. Still not clear about e911 feature we were required to enroll in..MJ rep doesn’t know & neither did our local police department..
