I have been using the same old tripod for over a decade starting with my DSLR cameras. Since making the switch to mirrorless I wanted something a little lighter and more compact. This tripod has fit the bill well. I have used it for extended long exposure shots. I have had it in water, in the desert, in the snow, etc. It is lightweight, packs nice, the head locks nice, perfect mid range do it all tripod for a mirrorless kit. www.jacobcarrollphotography.com

Let me first say that it's been about three years that I've kept my eye out for this product. The reason of my hesitancy to purchase was because of the price. A little background about me, I'm a photographer and I am really, really bad about losing tripods. To spend $199 on a tripod, I need to make sure that I would not forget it like I had in the past with other tripods. Because this was certainly an upgrade from the normal tripods and I'm used to using that usually cost me about $20-$30, I felt compelled to do research prior to buying it. YouTube seem to have a lot of resources on how to use a tripod. But you're going to learn a lot more once you start using it on your own. Very compact, very lightweight, and I love the fact that it came with its own carrying case. My favorite part about this particular tripod is the fact that it can convert to a monopod. I've had this product for approximately two months and I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it. I normally wear a rapid strap to carry my camera, if you look up Fusion Photo Gear , they have a product that fits the plate and has a ring style attachment that will allow you to use your rapid strap and switch it to your tripod without having to un attach anything.

    What Else Could I Want!!

I used to think that a tripod did not need to be of quality but the frustrations with the ones I purchased before made me finally try this MeFOTO RoadTrip and now I realize how much money I threw away with cheap ones. As they say, you get what you pay for. This is by far the best tripod I've ever owned. Yes, it did cost more than the others I have but it was worth every penny. It is sturdy, lightweight, has a great and flexible head, is easy to carry during a trip and very reliable. Along with all that, it is so easy to use and set up that it takes only seconds which is great for those moments you can't wait.. The telescopic legs are so so simple: rotate the nodes to release and tighten them in an instant. No guess work and no frustration. The flexibility of the head allows me to move my DSLR effortlessly to any angle I want. Perfect even for those that are not professionals. I would buy it again and probably will for my video camera that I sometimes use along with my Canon DSLR.

This tripod has a very small foot print when it is broken down. This makes it very easy to carry when you're traveling (as the model name might suggest). The breakdown and setup process is straight forward. You loosen the locking mechanisms on legs to extend them, then tighten/lock the mechanism to keep the leg extended. As an added bonus, you can take a leg off and use that as a monopod which is cool. I've seen other tripods out there that range in the thousands of dollars and this one is comparable for a fraction of the price. The tripod also comes in with a built in bubble level to make sure your shots are leveled. This also works well for taking street photography or city scapes because it can be carried around easily. The tripod feels like it is well built. I got the black version and it looks awesome! Thank you MeFOTO.

This is really built well. I'm really glad I decided to go with this tripod . I looked at so many different kinds and read many reviews. I needed one that would hold the extra weight with bigger lenses. This one comes with a bonus. It's a mono pod too. And it comes with a caring bag. What a deal!!

Bought this to use filming my kids sporting events mainly, but found it will be useful with other photo and video opportunities. This is a great tripod because of its versatility as a tripod and a monopod in one and it's lightweight and compactness.

I was looking for a tripod that was light weight and when extending the legs did not pinch my fingers when I open or close them. I used it on a Real Estate Shoot right after I bought it. It was Perfect? The ball head rotated easily in portrait and landscape mode, the camera clamp did not slip (my old ones did all the time) and while this stand is light weight it was sturdy and easy to move around even in the tight places. Not a single pinced finger in the process. Great purchase!

Holds my Nikon and Tamron 150-600MM quite steady despite the size of the lens. Ball head is probably the only point where improvement would be appreciated. Even so it works and given the price is very acceptable. I think anyone trying to move beyond point and shoot will be very happy with this item. Converts to monopod very easily. Excellent value.

We have over a decade's experience with tripods for field recordings. After replacing them several times, I opted to spend more to get one that honor's our son's video projects gaining more visibility. This tripod looks great, its lightweight, configurable, and best of all durable. One of the legs can convert to a monopod if space or rules demand it. Cool product! Also, hats off to the associate who shared his informed advice with me.

My wife loves this tripod! We initially bought it because its green! But she has grown to love its light weight, and versatility. Comes with a nice carry bag. its tubular design keeps it easy to manage. It can be used as a mono pod as well. all in all, a good choice, we are very pleased! A lot of functionality and convenience for a mid priced tripod.

I was looking for a product that was lightweight and durable, I looked at many different tripods and although there were many tripods that were lighter than this one, there was none that were more versatile. The legs are easy to open, folds small and the best part is the one leg is a monopod for quick, stable shots. I definitely recommend the Mefoto Roadtrip to anyone with a dslr!

    Amazing tripod for the price

I'm an astrophotographer, so I was looking for a tripod that could stay as still as possible. After seeing it in the store, I could tell this tripod was made of fantastic quality. Seeing that it's only $150 I had to grab it. I'm used to seeing tripods of this quality at $250 or more. The fact that it also has a hook on the bottom to add additional weight in windy situations is a fantastic plus. I didn't even know that it comes with a bag and spike feet for keep sturdy in softer ground. That's fantastic for how I use it. The mount on this tripod is great as well. It's a quick release and it's small. The screw on it also has a handle build in so that you don't need a tool to screw it into the camera and make sure it's tight. That's incredibly convenient. What's also great, since I have to point my camera straight up to the sky sometimes, is how tall this tripod is. I'm 5'4 so having a 61" tripod that I don't have the bend over for to look through my camera is also very great. Overall, this tripod is one of the best that Best Buy sells right now for the price and I recommend it to everyone.

This tripod is a bit pricey but worth the money. It is very steady for the size of the camera body and lens combo - EOS 70D. Functionality is very smooth from extending the legs to setting the right camera angle. I was using a cheaper tripod before buying this one. The cheaper tripod could not hold the camera steady while operating the shutter and would produce a blurred image. This tripod holds very steady in all conditions . The dials used to set the angles has an unlimited range of tension and produces a very smooth movement for panning the camera.
