This is my second Surface and I have been very pleased with both of them. I tried the first one at 4 gig ram and 128 gig ssd but I ran out of room, even with a 128 gig sd card. Now I have 8 gig ramand 256 gig ssd and the performance improvement is significant. I also have type covers with each of them and highly recommend them. Suggest bluetooth mouse if you travel.

I was looking for a compact, light weight computer with all the functionality of a full system. When the Surface PRO came out, it seemed to be on the expensive side, however, once you get your hands on it, you realize they got this one right! It is easy to setup, load software and begin using (in under an hour). The one item I was worried about is that it would take minutes to boot. They fixed this and it turns on almost instantly. It has plenty of memory (8GB) and storage (256G). This is the minimum I would recommend. The only item I would recommend to Microsoft is to lower the price on the pen... $99 for this utility is way too much, and therefore, we did not opt to pick on up...

I am a trial attorney and purchased the entry level Surface Pro 4 as a recreational pc. Almost immediately I decided to return it an upgrade to this device as it quickly took over many of my work related tasks. I am shocked by the simple fact that this is a full featured pc in a tablet size. Less than a week after purchase, I used this device exclusively to power a week long trial. I was able to quickly detach the keyboard and have a witness use the pen to mark an exhibit and then immediately email on the fly to the court to include in the record. The size and versatility make it perfect for any business but as an attorney that often have to travel, this device could not be any more convenient. While most of the features I love are available in most full sized laptops, the size and portability make this my go to. I would highly recommend not only the keyboard attachment (a must), but also the mouse and stylus. Being able to sign a document on the screen and save as a pdf without printing is a major timesaver!

I wanted a tablet that was easy to use and big enough to see what I was doing. It is light and easy to use, just like using my computer at home. I just need to learn how to use all the programs to draw with. Love the way I can use it as a tablet or desktop.

So far this computer is everything I need. Speed is good and battery life is great. It is very quiet and easy to use. Set up is not hard, just an adjustment to go from a Mac to a Windows machine again. Use this one for business purposes, no gaming, video or photo editing.

I really have enjoyed this new surface pro. The battery life is great and with 8 gigs of memory it is fast. I got the new pen and a keyboard cover and love those too. My old PC was 4 times bigger and i am glad to have a lighter bag to pack around.. Get this you won't be sorry!

Been a Mac user for over 10 years, but this surface changed my mind. It's not only a laptop AND a tablet but it's super light and portable. The mouse and the pen are perfect additions to the surface pro. I went with all grey/silver accessories. It looks so sleek! I use it for fun, for school, and my husband uses his for coaching.

Performance, battery life, and pen all got a great upgrade with the latest Surface Pro.

The design, the size, the weight...love it all. I have a PC for work and a Mac for personal. Love this as much as my Mac. It does have issues starting up at times. Follow a tip on line to hold the power for 30 seconds. Otherwise, perfection.

Improvement: Battery Life. I upgraded to this device from the similarly equipped (8GB Ram, 256GB SSD) Surface Pro 4 because the battery life on that machine was TERRIBLE. It would last a little over 4 Hours and then it was dead. If I had a heavy day of sales calls, it would be dead before my last meeting. This device can make it through a full day without missing a beat and as a outside sales rep, its the perfect device for me. lightweight and powerful, its very capable. my only "complaint" is that they don't include the keyboard. the keyboard is essential in order to use the machine to its optimal potential. if you are looking for a powerful, lightweight computer, try out the surface. Its impressive.

This Tablet is awesome. I love the accuracy of the pen. You can actually use it to take notes... and read them. I am able to run all my familiar apps, including CAD & BIM. This really is the way to go if you are looking for a laptop or tablet.

I have a mac pro, and I tested Samsung's Android and windows tablets as well as all the Ipads, When it comes to the balance between a fully functional computer and mobility and portability, this is the best product ever made. The improvements of fanless cooling, iris recognition and larger and higher quality screen are nice improvements over Surface Pro 3 which has always been superior to Pro 4 in my opinion. I take one star off due to high price tag when combined with keyboards and a pen., It is for heavy user professionals, students and artists

In 2014, I started to buy a Surface, but went with a 2 in 1, or convertible. While that laptop did perform as needed, or as required, I could not detach the keyboard like that of a Surface. Fast forward to today, and I now own the new Surface Pro. I never got into, nor was an Apple guy per se, and I already have 2 tablets and a Kindle. I wanted a computer with the speed and performance of laptop, but yet have availability of removing the key board. I must say that I am truly satisfied and in love with my Surface. However, like all other reviews or comments, yes I'm disappointed that pen, and keyboard are separated, and yes the Surface is pricey. But if you want something more than a tablet, or more than anormal IPad with keyboard, I suggest, and recommend the Surface. More to come.

Went searching for a lighter replacement for my laptop and a tablet to eliminate my writing notebook. Choices were iPad Pro and the Surface. Choose the Surface due to compatibility with Office and company protocols. Living up to everything I wanted however the pen is still not available to replace writing on paper but I expect to be equally satisfied.

I love it. Make sure you get at least the 8GB version. The 4GB is just not enough. The first thing that will happen is an update to Windows 10 "Features". 4GB was on the edge before; with this update 4GB is too small. I had one for a week and exchanged it for the 2017 I5 8GB 256 GB model. Would have been happier with I-7 but just too expensive.

Excellent computer, portable, easy to set up and use. Great for home and small business use as it does Excel, PPT, and Word without any issues. Stylus and keyboard make it a "real computer". It is small, thin and very portable; a little pricey, but perfect for my needs. Good storage capacity as I will be starting college (again) in January,

This device does it all without all the hassle. It has an amazing vivid touch screen which is nice when you can put it into tablet mode instead of "desktop" mode. You are able to load software on this Surface which can be a benefit for those that like having that option. The power consumption is surprisingly low. I can use this a few hours a day for 5 days on one charge which comes in handy. The value for this is good considering the power of it and convenience of it not being a traditional laptop however in order to use a keyboard you need to buy the detachable keyboard cover or a bluetooth keyboard. Overall the best tablet/laptop on the market if you need portability mixed with convenience!
