Great device, with room for improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a new laptop, that can REALLY work as a portable tablet (not just turn the screen 360 degrees, but actually be light and portable), look no further. The surface pro 3 is a great device, and this particular model (256GB, i7 processor) provides a great performance. Windows 10 is also very good, improving the experience as a whole. Personnaly, I had a problem with mine - after some investigation, Microsoft advised that the the internal battery (the small one, not the one you use to keep your device running without a power cord) died way sooner than expected. This made the clock on Windows to always be late - not a huge deal, but it was annoying to keep on refreshing the time/date everytime I turned on the surface. Microsoft fell short on the experience of replacing the surface, so I ended up returnin it to BestBuy - who in the other hand, did an awesome post-sales support. One more thing - this is a pricey device, and Microsoft is on the edge of announcing the new model (surface pro 4). Take this into consideration before buying ;)

still getting used to it, but looks promising
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware seems solid and responsive. My only issues so far are with the on-screen keyboard. Most touch-based platforms bring up a keyoard when you touch a text input field. This OS makes you manually bring up the keyboard. It's a bit annoying but livable.

Good tablet, solid performance.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surface Pro is a solid tablet and I am pleased with the performance so far. I have owned it for a little over one month now. The one item of caution for others planning on purchasing a Surface Pro 3 model is to be aware that the i7 models tend to warm up a bit since the processor is very powerful. This is something we noticed on the Pro 3 with an i7 processor that we bought and a couple of representatives said they noticed the same thing on their exact same model. For this reason, if you don't need the power of the i7, and you want to stick to the Surface Pro 3, you may consider downgrading to the i5. PS: it is worth getting the Surface Pro 4 since it works in a much more fluid manner than the Surface Pro 3 keyboard. Good thing is the accessories for the Surface Pro 4 are all backwards compatible with the Surface Pro 3.

Good Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a very good tablet. When coupled with the Type Cover it has the ability to make a very good mobile platform. I think that Microsoft has done a very good job with this device and the Windows 10 OS is finally coming around. The hardware is very responsive and I do not find myself waiting for the Surface Pro to complete a task. I think this is attributed to the Intel i7 and 8GB of RAM that is in the model that I purchased. I don't know how well the 4GB models stand up to the applications of today. I was a little worried that 8GB would be outstripped once the Surface Pro 4 was released. On that note, it is nice to see a 16GB option on the Surface Pro 4. The display is great. It's one of the best I have had the pleasure to use. The only reason there isn't 5 stars on this is for the type cover to be used you need a flat surface to put the Surface Pro 3 onto. It would be nice to be able to use the Type Cover on your lap but it is a Tablet first and foremost.

The right tablet for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that it is a tablet and a laptop all rolled into one. My favorite feature is the pen that allows you to take notes directly on the webpage. Great tool to use with students, especially for math and science. I have not used it enough to rate it excellent for now but that could change.

Great Form but with Limitations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The execution of this tablet / PC is great. Small, easy to set up and quick to start using. This biggest issue is the single DisplayPort output. Setting up multiple monitors is a challenge but doable. It would have been much better for Microsoft to have included two DisplayPort outputs.

Great machine except touchscreen too sensitive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine has been great so far but I rate it one star less because of the sensitivity level of the touchscreen where sometimes it is too sensitive and sometimes my touch is not detected at all. Don't know if my internet connection has something to do with it, but regardless, it takes some getting used to.

Great All Purpose Machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want the user friendliness of a tablet and the practicality of a laptop then this is the best machine on the market. In addition to a really professional machine the keyboard is excellant. If you are used to doing a lot of word processing you won't be disappointed. The one caveat is when I purchased an after market mini display to HDMI cable in order to hook up my Surface to a larger screen - i use for my home office - i noticed i lost the touch abilities of the tablet. I am unsure whether this is inique to my set up. I wkuld be dissappointed idf i learn that this isn't an isolated occurance. This type of glitch is definitely something that should have been picked up in Beta testing!

I love the Surface. This is my third one.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use the Surface Pro 3 mostly for working at home. Primarily word processing, spreadsheets and internet research. I also use it for typical home finance, bill pay, on line banking and portfolio management. The Surface Pro has satisfied these needs.

Now that I have one that works......
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, thank you Best Buy for standing behind this product. My first device wouldn't boot up and Best Buy just handed me a new one. The second one was up and running instantly and have had no problems at all.

Great for everyday use!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this tablet/pc! It's very sturdy and I like the built in stand. It runs very smooth and have had no problems with anything. Although since it is still a thick sturdy product a thin disk drive would be cool
