    I really liked it but…

What I like most about this laptop is the way it looks. I wanted something different from the generic black and red gaming laptops in this price range ($899 for Black Friday) and I really could not get over just how good the white keyboard and blue backlighting looked against my white desk. However, I already have a MacBook and I was specifically in the market for a laptop that I can game on (but mainly to play Sims 4 on Ultra) and I had a couple of minor issues. First off, the trackpad is EXTREMELY difficult to press down on and when I finally managed to muster up the force needed to do a hard click, there was hardly any traction. It took me an average of 3 clicks just to drag and resize open windows. If you don’t have one already, you are definitely going to want to purchase a mouse to use with this laptop. The screen is also kind of wobbly. It’s not a big deal when the laptop is stationary but it did move every time I moved the laptop and that was slightly concerning to me. GAME PERFORMANCE and STORAGE The laptop comes with around 40 GB of storage already taken up. After I installed Sims 4, a majority of its DLC, and Forza Horizon 5, I only had about 260 GB of free space left on the computer. Midway into Forza 5, I got a message that there wasn’t enough RAM available for the game to perform properly. It didn’t seem to affect the performance of the game and was actually holding up quite well in the beginning but as I ventured further off into unexplored places on the map, I started experiencing some pretty significant lag. Expanding the storage and RAM would definitely be the way to go to get the best performance out of this computer. Overall, it really is a fast computer. Sims and Forza looked pretty decent. It didn't feel like I needed to rush to plug in the charger every 40 minutes so that's a plus. The keyboard feels nice and it’s a 2021 laptop that comes with Windows 10 Home which I actually prefer over the newer laptops that ship with Windows 11. However, as someone who planned on using this laptop solely for gaming, I eventually ended up returning it for a laptop with better specs to avoid voiding the warranty with upgrades.

Manufacturing error but second try is the charm!

My original order came in timely but there was a manufacturing error. The screen was squished and the backlight was showing on the corner of my screen. The trackpad was also installed crooked so it was constantly clicking and was not functional. I returned my original order and was able to place a new order with no hassle. My second try laptop is awesome! I bought it as a beginner gaming laptop and for watching movies and personal work. It’s been a champ, processing speed is fast but battery life only lasts for a few hours. Still happy about this purchase.

I really like this laptop especially after upgrading the RAM to 2 x 16GB DIMMs and replacing the basic 512GB HD chip with a 1 TB pro all from Amazon for around $200. Not a gamer so I can’t attest to the FPS or what games run best but this is a beast for my office workstation that should be able to handle anything thrown at it for the next 5+ years. I had purchased another more powerful laptop but when they did the discount week on this model I jumped because the other laptop was just a Ferrari sitting in rush hour traffic. I also saved $800 between the 2. My only con so far has been the response of MSI support. My 9 key came off of the number pad and they gave me a USA number to call for parts. No response yet. Then my original HD burnt up and I already had the 1 TB to replace and just did a fresh install of Win 10 and tech support said I had to ship the whole laptop back and would not just replace the chip. I will still give the system a solid buy.

    Good entry gaming laptop

Price: Good for the money if it's on sale. Expect to spend an additional ~$160+ for RAM and storage to make this laptop good. If you're looking to play games like Apex Legends on all low settings then it's fine honestly. Consistent 144fps. I play it with those settings because it's my preference. If your game need a 3060 to be stable or play on good settings then buy a laptop with a 3060 and an i5. The top of the keyboard does tend to get hot while plugged in even if you just browsing so just set the max possessor state to like 95% on the power saving or balanced Windows power plans. What that does essentially it it will disable turbo on your CPU, making it run at base clock or lower. Use that plan while not gaming and switch to high performance plan while gaming. You can also undervolt the CPU to lower the temp, go to the BIOS and change the settings to enable undervolt. You have to google that because there is a special keys combo you need to press to go to the advance settings in the BIOS. Battery life is in line with most gaming laptop. You ain't gonna get good battery life with gaming laptop. You should know this by now. As for RAM, I've upgraded to 32gb (2x16gb) kit with cast latency 16. Just remember to enable XMP in the BIOS to get full speed. Google it to find out how to enable XMP on this laptop. As for storage, 512gb is a bit low to install games so I went ahead and bought a cheap 1tb 2.5" ssd from crucial. Not the fastest but it's better than a hard drive and I don't need it to load games a few seconds faster lol. ***I don't know why MSI do this stupid thing but they went and put like a black square rubber on the place where you put the 2.5" drive. Yes, the laptop have a connector built in to connect a 2.5" drive in addition to the m.2 ssd that is included. It prob only fit a ssd drive so don't buy a spinning disk one. Just remove the rubber since it's just adhesive between the chassis and the rubber. Put a double sided tape either on the plastic chassis or the ssd and plug it in. The tape will hold it in place just fine.*** One thing to note on this laptop while gaming. If you notice that the battery is draining while gaming even though you have the laptop plugged in, it is NORMAL. It is MSI's Hybrid Power Mode where it pull power from both the charger and the battery to get more performance. It's stupid and there is no way to turn it off. It is enabled by default. I had a Dell laptop and it also do the same thing. The only way to "fix" that is to just buy a more powerful charger like a 180W one.

Looks = Not your usual black and red gaming laptop Performance = Good performance but experienced the shaking screen issue while operating it, had to restart the laptop tl fix the issue. Weight and Size = not heavy, not light, and not eating too much space Sound = clear and crisp Keyboard = it fades slowly, most especially the mostly used letters Overall = decent laptop for gaming and reasonable price too

This is an awesome gaming laptop, especially for the price. My only qualm with it is the battery life. But it manages the fan speed perfectly, and it's got plenty power to do anything a normal user could want as long as you've got an outlet near.

I have been using this laptop for 2 years now and it is great for the price and I have been using it everyday for 2 years without upgrading. However I did just upgrade the 8 gb ram for a 16 gb corsair ram stick and have noticed a remarkable improvement. I would definitely spend the 30 bucks to get a 16 gb ram stick and upgrade. Now all the games that I want to play I can. The ssd is also somewhat small but personally once I am done playing a game I just delete it, but it is something to look into upgrading if you prefer to not delete games.

    Great Bang for the Buck!

Can't beat the bang for the buck at $899! But there are a few nuances and I have a few recommendations for buyers. Pros: -Durable for sure! 3 USBA slots, feels solid, and a cylinder metal DC power input. I say these as pros, because I feel USBC charging port and USBC data ports end up breaking fairly easy, and I hate USBC in general, so this laptop will hold up for awhile! -It's upgradable as well, so if anything breaks, or needs an upgrade you can swap out parts. -Backlit keyboard is a nice touch. -Not a touch screen is a PRO! ... why are all laptops turning into folding tablets. Cons: -MSI's bloatware they put on here is pretty atrocious, and ties up alot of power if not deleted. 8gb RAM is pretty weak.. and the laptop will take up 4gp of it freshly opened out of the box. -The white aesthetic to it isn't as shiny and silvery as displayed in photos; it's more of plastic matte white. -Stated above... the shell is plastic, however it feels really really solid. -The trackpad is kinda hard to push in, but finger runs smooth on it, and who really clicks the pad anyway when you can tap it to click. Recommendations: -Delete/Uninstall every MSI service software. I wish I could name them for you, but I already uninstalled every software that had the name MSI in it, and it runs much smoother, as they tied up alot of power in the background. This also helped with the RAM shortage slightly... got it down to using only like 35% of the ram on standby compared to the whopping 50%. I'm using it for DJing, and by deleting all the bloatware... and stopping unwanted processes from factory settings, I was able to fix a huge latency problem it was having. -Also upgrading the ram to 16gb wouldn't hurt either, but beware because it voids the warranty. - I also like to delete most the NVIDIA extras minus the actual driver, but thats up to you. - Also just flip off and uninstall that Norton, and turn on the windows security... It's not the 90's anymore windows security is dandy now.

I absolutely love this laptop. I have had it now for a couple of weeks and I ran into one issue. The first day of my classes it wouldn't turn on. Go figure. My husband opened it and determined it had to do with the battery. He was able to get it turned on, thankfully, and it's been working fine ever since. Other than that hiccup, it's a great laptop. I love how the keyboard lights up and the screen has great resolution. Unfortunately, I had to take a star away for the battery complication, otherwise I love this laptop!

Each time I turn on the PC only the keyboard lights up the screen remains black ⚫️ , and nothing display you can wait for one day nothing will display until you turn of and wait for few seconds and turn it on again before the screen can display. BestBuy can do anything the refer me to MSI company. Now I shipped to MSI company for repairing. Noone want to exchange it for.. Since all my love to this PC is disappointed..

This is a good laptop. It's built like a tank and feels sturdy. There are a few fixable issues that keep it from 5 stars out of the box. Good: Looks great. If you're into white. This is a good one. The blue key lighting is bright, the keys are legible, and the case doesn't attract fingerprints. Decent screen. The screen looks good in a vacuum. It's bright enough and I don't notice any ghosting. The colors are what you'd expect on a gaming laptop of this price. Runs cool and quiet The fans on this are less annoying than on other gaming laptops I've owned. They can get loud but the tone is quite tolerable. The cooling solution seems more than adequate, and the MSI software helps with choosing the balance of heat and perfomance you are looking for. Fast Processor: This processor punches well above its 3050ti. In terms of cpu horsepower, it's a beast. If you want more gaming, grab a 3060 version. This does play every game at respectable settings. If you're okay with DLSS or FSR you're set. You can't really tell the resolution is being scaled on a 15inch screen. Meh: The speakers are tolerable. Not very loud. Clear enough. Hardly any bass. Cramped Keyboard layout. The fn key drives me banannas and the enter key below the tiny 10 key was just a mistake. I like 10 keys, but this isn't the way. R.I.P right shift key users. Key stroke and travel are a little mushy but you won't hate it. Track pad. It's not bad. Big enough. Smooth enough. Battery life: You're buying an intel based gaming laptop. It's gonna struggle. Plastic build. Nicer than expected but it's still plastic. It doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart though. Boo: 8 gbs of ram. This isn't enough. No second m.2 slot or included bracket for 2.5 drive. Basic USB-C port. No display out. I've got a USB-c hub that can't utilize all of the features How to fix the problems: Note: Poking a hole in you're factory seal stickers does not void the warranty in the U.S. I've sent back MSI products (MSI Delta 15 with broken hinge) for warranty repair with no issues. Ram: Buy this. Samsung 8GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM PC4-25600 CL22 1Rx8 You have an empty ram slot. The performance increase from dual channel and capacity is substantial. It's worth the $30. It should have been done from the factory. Unsupported 2.5inch drive: You can pull the foam thats in the case and use some foam tape to secure a second drive. The necessary plug for the drive is already in there. Janky, but the case will hold it in place. Put some foam on both sides. Why are you buying this? You like the way it looks. In a sea of black and silver laptops you wanted a white one. There are better laptops out there for a little more money but this one caught your eye. Go for it. Especially if you grab it around that $900 range. After $80 in upgrades, you're cruising. I own a pavillion gaming with a 1650, MSI delta 15 with a 6700m, and g14 with a 6700s. This 3050ti plays everything the others do. The biggest limitation is the 4gb of vram. Let's be real though, the 3050ti shouldn't be set to those settings anyway. The limitation just keeps it humble. Note: The hinges on this MSI Sword feel way better than the paper mache ones on the MSI Delta. I dont get the impression they are going to break easily.

I like this laptop a lot. Not being a gamer, I am graphic artist using my MSI for digital art creations, NFTs and more. The processor is fast, the graphics card NVIDIA GetForce is wonderful, dlsplay is very precise, colors beautiful..all in all for the price I am extremely happy to bed working on my laptop. I am doing alot of traveling and am not able to use my desktop, but my work and creative process is at my fingertips wherever I may be. I do plan to get more RAM, as I need it. The computer does get pretty hot and battery life is short.

I’ve only had my laptop for a day and I give it 4 stars. It’s a great laptop when it comes to gaming for Skyrim, Siege, things of that nature(not on max settings), however, it runs very hot which I’ve begun to notice as I’ve been playing. For me, this isn’t a big issue, but for some it may cause them to be a little weary. I also recommend this product when it goes on sale and not for the full $1199.99 price because the storage is semi-small(512gb ssd) and 8gb ram needs to be upgraded(laptop does have upgradability). Overall, I recommend this laptop when it goes on sale as it is very good, however, if you’re someone that does not like if laptops run too hot or someone that has to leave a laptop plugged in to play, then I would go for a different gaming laptop.

I brought this laptop and use this for awhile here are my opinion. This is a good laptop for games I had tried Minecraft rtx, Overwatch, Risk of Rain 2, and Destiny 2 they ran fine I had to change settings to get more fps because fps matters to me. Now this is a 4 star because it low ram. If you can i suggest upgrading the ram to 16gb for gaming but do research to see how much this laptop ram can go up to, and see which ram works with this laptop. I did some research and I got is this laptop can go up to 64gb ram can go to? (I probably incorrect sorry). If true then you should upgrade to 64gb ram but i recommend that if you are doing heavy video editing or streaming off this laptop otherwise that is a bit overkill if you wanna do overkill. Other than that the laptop is very good. This is great laptop to start with for pc gaming to see how it is, or you just wanna play pc games on your bed or something just the low ram hold back from it potential. As for my experience getting this, I brought it from the best buy store and had no problems setting it up.

Takes a while to start, with previous gaming laptops I had usually took 5s, with this it takes longer (5-9 s) Battery lasts around three hours with regular use (expected), two hours or less using the graphic card for editing or gaming. Sometimes it crashes while using any browser. (Mozilla Firefox or Edge) Nice design, and sturdy enough. Good for gaming but not recommended for productivity, I would recommend the intel 11th mobile generation processor (model ends with letter ‘u’) since the battery will last longer and will be powerful enough to work with Autocad, illustrator or any other software.

This laptop replaced my 2017 surface pro and its better in every way. However, there have been moments when horizontal stripes appear on my screen when I'm browsing on Edge. But then again, why am I using Edge?! I'll update review in a few months. I have to get charger often. But take that with a grain of salt. It's powerful and I haven't been paying attention to how long I'm using it before I need to get the charger. Like I said, will give better review in a few months.
