Fabulous cable modem. Great price point and performance. Paired with a midrange router and couldn't be happier with the performance achieved. This was a great investment for the area I live in because the modem will have the ability to handle higher speeds as they become available. Runs cool to the touch with 24/7 use.

Replaced an older, 3-4 years, surf board modem. My old signal would drop regularly and cause me to reboot almost weekly. This has worked consistently since I got it. Pleanty fast for the speed I have. Lights are hard to see, but as long as it is working I don’t really mind.

I have this paired with an AX6000 and haven’t had any issues. I have lots of smart devices and haven’t had any bottleneck issue. Running 400gb service from spectrum without any faults. Took about 15 minutes to talk to spectrum to get it setup. I would recommend anyone to get this over a modem provided from you ISP. This isn’t top of the line, but much better than most options. I think if I did it again I would get the top of the line surfboard instead, but I don’t have buyers remorse what so ever.

Let me tell you, this modem Is on my Top 10 best purchases that I made in my entire life. This modem kicks butt! Before I got my Netgear modem, it used to take almost 4 hours to watch a 2 hour movie because of buffering. And of couse rewinding! I would get so irritated that I would give up and stop the movie. Since i've been using Netgear modem, the only time the movie pauses is when I pause it for a snack run or b'room break. The only advice I have is unplug it every 30 to 45 days, if not, an error message will appear and you wont be able to connect to the net.. Unplugging the modem will allow for updates. Do this if the modem is in use 24/7. (I forgot to mention that I also have the Netgear router, which is badass too.) I have no complaints, easy to set up, easy to follow instructions,.Both are very good products

I upgraded to this Netgear modem from a DOCSIS 1.0 cable modem which along with an older router was limiting me to only 15 Mbps. Now I get the speeds that I am paying for and am surfing the internet super highway at super highway speeds.
The Wirecutter (https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-cable-modem/) has listed this modem as one of the best and it has lived up to the reviews.
Best Buy price matched the modem with another competitor and provided excellent guidance to help me select this modem.
Set up and configuration were very simple and took me about 20-30 minutes via web chat with my cable internet provider.

I purchased this modem after Time Warner to informed me that they are increasing internet speed by a factor of 10 with no increase in cost. WOW! So I need f a faster modem. This was on the Time Warner recommended list.
Easy to set up with one call to Time Warner to activate. Flawless performance.

I bought the Netgear cable modem because I currently own a Netgear router and wanted to ensure compatibility and easy pairing of the two units. The modem was easy to set up, has been glitch-free and was perfectly compatible with my current TWC provider service. Very happy with the purchase.

This modem fits the bill for speed and price that meet our household's uses. Thanks to the others who also gave it a vote of confidence to help with the decision to go with this one. Easy set up. Taller than an Arris Surfboard and old school style look, but functionality was key.

NETGEAR CM500 High Speed Cable Modem

The name says a lot about this cable modem. I've installed several of these on Comcast (Xfinity) networks at various locations. They're very easy to install and almost configure themselves. There's no WiFi built-in to this unit. You'll need to get a stand-alone WiFi router to work with this (but only if you want WiFi). There's no point in paying someone else in order to rent their cable modem when you can purchase your own CM500. I've had excellent results from each of the CM500 units I've installed. I highly recommend these cable modems for use with Comcast networks. My experience with these have been at internet speeds of 150 Mbps or less, but they're rated for much faster than that.

It was recommended to me by a Xfinity rep.(Dave) after telling him my needs. I already had a Netgear router (a Wndr3700v3) and just needed a modem. It was a 2 step setup: 1) a direct connect to a computer 1st to set up the modem and checkout the account's info. 2) connect the router to the modem & the computer to the router, and login to the router to auto setup with the new modem. Work's great. The only grips are for 1) no helpful info. on the Comcast Xfinity or Netgear web site to review before installing the modem with my router (had to wing-it). 2) The modem runs a bit hot, but I guess that's true with most new gear these days. It's been running for 2 months now and NO complains.

The nice thing about this modem is I combined it and a Netgear R6400 router to replace the sub-par modem/router combo provided by Xfinity Comcast. This modem is "pre-approved" by Comcast, which makes set up simple. That fact combined with the modem's critical reviews made it an easy choice to purchase. Together, the modem and router work flawlessly and are top notch. The modem screams, and the router handles all the data with no problems.

Wanted to save the $5 a month with Time Warner and get rid of their equipment. It actually gives me a little bump in speed. I get 5Mb/s more download bandwidth with this modem. Super easy install and just called to activate it. No complaints. I would recommend to anyone.

Did my research before choosing this modem. Speed supports my current service and will support a higher level of service (faster) if I change my cable Internet service plan. Easy to install/setup and works perfectly with our Suddenlink service.

This is a great modem. Works with Time Warner or Comcast Internet services. Up to 300mb download speeds. All you have to do is call your provider and have them activate it.
If you are paying to rent a modem this is the way to go. It pays itself off in about 10 months. Then you are saving over $10 a month on Internet. So worth it.

Using it for about a month now. Haven't had to reboot at all. We have Mediacom in our area, and their modem needed a reboot 4-5 times per week. Irritating. This one is flawless - no reboots, and speed tests with it vs. the Mediacom modem - no comparison, we have much faster response.
We have a 200Mbps plan, and was hitting an average of 210 with the Mediacom modem. This modem is averaging 265Mbps.
We're very happy, and no more leasing crappy modems!

I decided that I did not want to rent a modem from Comcast and purchased this model. It is faster, smaller and more reliable than my previously rented modem from Comcast/Xfinity.
Get rid of your rental unit ASAP. This will pay for itself in a few months.

I didn't want to pay the rental fee, so I bought this. 2-years later I can attest that it still works great, fast, secure and reliable. Easy to hook up, setup and flawless performance. I have 25 mips down and 6 mips up.
