My old modem, a Motorola Surfboard, died. I had an extra, but it could not connect or be activated by Comcast. I have always had good experience with Netgear products. I placed the order with Best Buy and it was ready within an hour. This router will authenticate with Comcast without calling them. Mine hung for a bit so I called Comcast and they showed the new modem was on the record. One ping and we were in business.

Decided to buy my own modem to replace the one I was renting through our ISP. This one was on their compatibility list and had top-of-the-line performance specs - plus I've been pleased with other Netgear items I've had - so I went with it. Pretty much a plug-and-play installation. Had to have a rep from the ISP on the phone for the install - they needed to know a few pieces of info about the modem to allow it access to their world. Performance is up to expectations, the transition to their network came off without a hitch, and the installation was flawless. Very pleased!

Decided to cut the cable and start streaming. Gave back the combo router/modem the cable company gave me, and hooked this guy up with the Google WiFi mesh router. It was really easy to set up and my internet is much faster than it was before. Cox Ultimate 300mbps is the best I can get, and this modem is rated for 680mbps, so it's got plenty of room to let the fresh, hot internets through. Speed test shows 387mbps. Before with the old cable router/modem it ran at about 65mbps. There is no more buffering in my house.

I actually have a better modem but when you buy your own, its the first thing your provider blames when there is a problem. I got this one because it supports the full speed of my subscription, was affordable and it works well. It was only a waste because the problem did actually turn out to be on the providers side of the connection. The "problem" I was experiencing persisted with this new modem. They fixed it only after activating this one. For the price, this does the job well and I actually like the browser interface to view the status. Great modem for the price and didn't break the bank to prove to the provider it was their problem.

This was purchased along with the NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S router to replace my ARRIS gateway after I was hacked through a security vulnerability that they refuse to fix for some reason, but I'm getting off subject here. The modem works flawlessly achieving above my internet advertised Comcast speeds. Simple to hookup and activate. Do not call Comcast unless you want to take your chances to be on the phone for an extended period of time with a less than competent rep. Instead, go to www. comcast.com/activate to do it yourself within a few minutes.

I bought this modem in conjunction w/ the NETGEAR - AC1000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router. They work well together as a team. Fast. Good price for both. They r replacing an Arris all-in-one modem/router I had that was slow as molasses. I confess that I’m not sure if my increased performance is because I switched brands or because I separated the 2 components. I had to call both Netgear & Xfinity to set it up.

Purchased this cable modem for my mother-in-law so she can cut down on cable modem rental fees. Worked great right out of the box after provisioning automatically with her Xfinity service. No issues with speed and works well with her Wifi routers.

This Netgear modem is a huge improvement over my previous Motorola. Download speed went from 70s to 140s immediately. If your modem is more than a few years old, you should see marked improvement in speed with the Netgear. Set up was easy although time-consuming because you will probably have to contact your ISP and provide them with your modem's MAC and serial number. Modem has been continuously connected for a couple of months with no interruptions or disconnects. I am very happy with this purchase.

We were looking to replace our Comcast modem/router so we could stop paying the extra $15 each month. This modem works great with the Netgear AC1200 Dual Band WiFi 5 router. We have had no issues with connectivity since. Speeds have been slightly better than what we used to get with the Comcast modem/router too! Super easy to install as well.

My main driver for this purchase was to send less money to the cable company, which charges $10 a month for a modem, if they provide it. The technical specifications for this router were much better than the cable company provided model and it paid for itself in less than a year! Also, the cable company is in the process of upgrading the system, eventually providing 300Mbps, which this will support. Other than that, it works, no interruption, what more do you ask for in a cable modem?

Had to get a new modem so that I can receive the faster internet speed that came with my latest cable upgrade. Easy to install but still wasn’t getting the 100 mbps Cox said my plan now had. Luckily the Cox guy had to come over for a different reason but he showed me that I just needed to connect to the 5G instead of the 4G and wow up went my speed. Had a Netgear before and liked it, that was the main reason why I went with this brand.

I must admit I have been a competing company modem user (think cell phone company) for a long time. I was wary of anything new but this router had great reviews and was stated to be very fast. The reviews were right! This DOCSiS 3 modem is very fast. My COMCAST top tier internet runs @ 400MBs (rated @ 350) It was a breeze to install and configure. Netgear has a new convert.
