- I've used these little 5-Port Switches for 20 years at work in industrial settings, where high heat, high humidity and hard use is normal.
- Even though I've installed dozens of these devices, I can count on 1 hand how many have gone bad.
- These are simply the best value in a 5-Port Ethernet Switch.

I just switched to the new EERO router that only has 2 ports for my peripherals. I got this Netgear ethernet switch to plug everything else in, and it is working great! Setup was super simple if you follow directions,

Works as advertised - a good purchase for me. I got a new xfinity modem/router and my 6 tb wdmycloud nas drive would not be recognized by the network. I brought this switch and put it in between the xfinity device and the nas drive and problem resolved. The xfinity device only had 2 ethernet ports leaving me 2 short of being able to hook up my nas drive, smart tv, android box and laptop. In addition to resolving my NAS connection issue it resolved my lack of port issue. I have all my connections hard wired for speed and have a free port on the mode/router to add a game system.

This unit is very easy to set up/install and takes up very little room on my desk. I bought it at the advice of a Best Buy associate so I can operate a wired network including my desktop PC (upstairs office), my notebook (downstairs music studio) and my BluRay player (living room). I haven't run the cable for the BluRay yet, but both computers are working very well. I'm using Cat 6 cables to 'future-proof' the system.

Plug and play, nothing to configure. Solid construction. I suppose it is worth a few extra bucks over the cheap plastic ones (this one has a metal case), it will probably run forever. Only downside is that the power port is on the back and the ethernet ports are on the front, but it's not a deal breaker. Also note that there is no way to turn off the flashing lights. Indicators show speed 10/100/1000 for each port.

I bought the NetGear 5 plug switch box when I bought the Google Nest. I have several devices plugged in to my modem and needed another plug for the Nest. It works great. I was able to unplug almost everything from the modem and plug them into the switch box. Now I have more room if I need it. I started to buy one of the larger ones but I was not sure how well this one was going to work. Now I wish I would have bought one of the larger ones.

I needed a dependable product that could accommodate multiple Ethernet cables. This is undoubtedly the best option. This device is widely used in businesses, which is why I opted for this brand.
