We upgraded our internet package and they sent us a new gateway. Our old gateway had 4 ethernet ports. The new on only had 2. We decided to buy the switch. Was not hard to power it up. I ran a few speed test with all the ports up and running and the speeds were up to par with no lag time.

I needed to lessen the wifi signal in my home, and by using this hub; it really boosted my overall connectivity. It is easy to setup, just plug and play; no surprise to add to my network. It is really great for those devices that can use wifi, but will operate better with a direct lan connection. I would suggest anyone with a need purchase this item.

Good for Adding Ports To Your Router

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've been forced to convert most of my wireless network to wired. I ran out of ports on my router, and added this to get me more wired ports. It's simple enough to use. Just hook this up to a port on your router, connect the power, and you can add an additional 4 devices to your router. If you're running out of ports on your router, just get this and be done with it.

I needed additional ethernet ports. After a little research and reading some reviews on BB, I selected this one. The price was good, and it is basically plug and play, no real set-up required. I've been using it for several weeks now without one glitch.

My router developed a finicky port, would start developing errors and dropping connectivity. The Netgear router was a great price and worked right off the bat with no configuration. Good purchase!

    Economical Switch For Home

Ethernet switches are pretty much “old tech” these days, but just like my fireplace on a cold winter’s day quite useful. This five-port switch was a great buy. My new Eero mesh devices have only 2 Ethernet ports so I am able to wire my two Tablo OTA DVRs, a Roku device, my Sound system, and a Smart TV, keeping them off the WiFi. Because I have more networked hardware I am seriously considering a second switch. They can be piggybacked easily.

Not much set up involved with this which makes it great for what I need it for. My wifi router is on my top floor and the signal wasn't strong enough to reach the bsmt for my other smart devices. Simply plugged this in and ran Cat5E ethernet cables and off we go.

Unmanaged Gig E switch. If you have multiple wired locations / devices to connect to the internet...All you need to do is hook up the Cat6 cables, plug in the power and you have a simple way to split your high speed Internet into multiple locations

I had zero issues with previous Netgear switch that got fried by a power surge so I replaced it with another Netgear switch. Set up was plug and play- plugged it into my router via lan and plugged a desktop and laptop into it. Both get the maximum internet speed (50 mps) that I pay for.

Works great and is not overpriced! This little device was easy to set up--nearly plug and play. Looks sharp and has a few mounting options. I use this device to bring Ethernet from my router to an XBox 360, a smart Blu-ray player, and ApplyTV and a WD MyBook Live. It even allows the MyBookLive to communicate with the Blu-ray player!

Love this! I tend to prefer a wired connection throughout my house, especially for heavy data hogs like streaming HD. Plus, wired is more reliable and secure. A switch like this makes it easy to add several more Ethernet ports in a room that only had one.

I have always used Netgear networking products due to their good performance and ease of setup. I needed to expand my gigabit wired network and this switch did the job. It looks good, has nice lights to indicate the working ports and keeps the network speed blazing fast. You cannot go wrong with this brand. I highly recommend it.

The NETGEAR - 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch is very easy to setup and does what it's suppose to do. The documentation is extremely clear and easy to understand and not overly verbose. The switch has a great look and takes up very little real-estate. I would recommend this to anyone that needs additional ports without the need of a router.

When I added a new Smart TV to my mancave, I realized I didn't have enough ports in my WiFi extender. Adding the switch to the extender and connecting with the correct cables has made my mancave much more practical. It works seamlessly! There is no less of speed on any of the existing connections. Easy to set up!

Works great! Replaced and older router with Google's Nest Wi-fi and needed the extra ports to connect all our devices. Setup was a breeze and is working as expected. Also nice that the size doesn't take up much space.
