There are no easier to set up and use switches than those made by Netgear. They simply work. Plug it in, hook it up, surf at blazing speeds. What more do you want?

This is very basic easy to setup (actually nothing to setup). But remember this is 4+1 port switch, 1 port is for input, 4 ports for output

This Netgear switch was the cheapest switch Best Buy had in stock after my previous switch died. I did a little research once I got there and this one was a perfect choice for me. Dead simple to setup and have not had any issues with it so far, after a month, or so, of using it.

Easy set up, plug and play. Would have been nice if electrical cord was thinner to fit through cable box hole but product works great.

This was bought to replace a similar switch that was over 10 years old. Plug in the power cable and the ethernet cables and it worked right out of the box with my 500mbps internet service. I like that the cable plug into the back. It sits on my desk with the cables out of the way and the status lights visible.

Each device plugged into the switch will automatically function at its detected speed (10 / 100 / 1000 Mbps). Use it if you have more devices than the router has ports. Net Gear makes inexpensive but reliable products, this switch being a prime example.

I wanted a reliable connection between the FIOS router at one end of our house, and the entertainment center at the other. I used wifi for a couple years, but the abundance of wifi gadgets in our house was actually bottlenecking performance. So I scrapped a couple of middle-man widgets and ran a Cat6 cable from my FIOS router to this switch. It's got enough ports for the Wii, the BluRay player, and the rest of it. No more flaky wifi connections, and absolutely nothing to do beyond plugging it in. If the network speak makes you dizzy, this is basically a splitter, but for network wires.

We had eeros first it works great through the walls. This one seems to have problems with brick it does not work everywhere. We have a one floor ranch 2600sq feet. The second router is only 900 feet away from the main router but the signal drops all the time and is very weak. Eeros is better. We are now using both. Now as to the why’s, we need WiFi for our cell phones to work and eeros requires WiFi to install router. Netgear is easier to set up as it dues to require the cell phone to work if we need to reboot. In the end we are using both routers. And ouch at the cost!!
