This was just what the doctor ordered. I had too many wired in network devices with two few connections to my router. The 1 Gig speed is lightning fast. Have our cloud device and two desktop computers connected to this switching device. Small and very please with the performance.

Good Little Switch

Needed a simple switch because I added in another piece of equipment in our TV area that needed network connectivity and would rather use a hardline over wireless. I own an 8-port NETGEAR switch so was confident in this brand. This one is working fine. Setup was easy.

I am a computer teacher in a classroom that does not have enough ports on one side of the classroom. I bought this Ethernet switch to plug into the port in the wall and then plug two desktop computers in so that I could add another desk to that side of the room. It works great!

Very simple clean looking unit. Simple to install, just plug in the power and connect to modem. Very simple to configure because no configuration is required. I use this switch to give me more hardwire Wi-Fi connections from my Google Wifi hub.

I purchased this product in a pinch because I needed something quick for a problem I was having with networking at work. Yes, this not a business level product and is not sold that way, but it was the only option I had at the time. Best buy stopped carrying the Netgear Pro line in stores.
As a switch it does the job. The devices works well when combined with routers and switches that are all "auto config" type devices. Generally that is exactly how all home use products are designed. In the environment I used it in initially, I wasn't able to quite get the full gigabit throughput that the switch claimed to be able to handle. That would be my only reason for giving it an average rating. However I will say that I've since re purposed this device to a more simple network and it is working as advertised.
I generally wouldn't recommend this class product to anyone. If you can get your hands on the Netgear pro line elsewhere, I'd go that route. I've had less issues and failures with that product line, and its actually the same price as this product line. However if basic home switching is your goal then this will do the job well.

I purchased the NETGEAR - 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet along with the Powerline 1000 [see review]. Set up was easier than the powerline (just plug in laptop and desktop and Tivo). Even less than a minute. :-)
No performance problem since purchase date 3 months ago.

For home or a small office this switch is perfect. For home use I connect a Playstation Pro, Smart TV and Media Server and so far I have had zero issues. I often stream UHD movies from my local Media Server without any kind of hitch. Simply plug in cables and away you go.

I took my printer and then my hard drive to the Geek Squad and the 2 men (Johnny and Avery) we worked with were super. They had us fixed up and ready to go in short order. When we called and had a mobile geek squad to our house, that man, Caleb, was so good and knowledgeable. He even helped us reduce the number of cables we had for our computer equipment. I strongly recommend these folks.

The Netgear - 5 - Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Unmanaged Switch - White is a fantastic way to split the Ethernet cable coming from the router and allows you to connect four more devices to the same cable.

Nice switch. It’s very lite and has a compact design. Does just fine handeling gigabit internet speeds. Only “complaint” is that it’s not really a 5 port switch. It’s more like a 4 port because one port is being used as an input and the other 4 for output.

If you’re in need of more Ethernet ports but don’t require a ton at a hefty price this works beautifully. This will be my second and third purchase of this switch for multiple Ethernet locations around the house

I needed just a few additional connections near my home entertainment system and this did the trick. Lighting fast, I'm really getting 330 mbs from my PS4 which I have not seen those speeds before the router.
