Purchased this item for my son's dorm room. The university he is attending supplies one (1) hard wire internet connection in his room. However, he uses three devices that need internet, and this worked great.

All of the other switches and hubs I have used (I was a Network Administrator), have rows of small round status LED's with small numbers above or below. These are large and actually are the number of the port- which is directly behind. I have another switch at home, from a different manufacturer, and the ports do not correspond to the location of the status lights at all. The numbers are so small you need a magnifying glass. I'm sure this doesn't seem like a big issue. But when you have a problem, it's nice to know which cable it is- at a glance.
