Very reliable mesh delivering good value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from a Wireless Router to the Orbi Mesh a month back and already experiencing much better coverage. I have single family home and coverage was patchy, had to switch between 5 Ghz and 2.5Ghzdependingon which signal was better, after having switched to Orbi mesh, coverage through out the house has been amazing. Also its a single Wifi across the spectrum now making it simpler to access and connect. Connectivity is robuts, setup is simple and good value for money. Worth a buy

Great Wi-Fi coverage!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a Linksys Wi-Fi router and Amped extender, with the Orbi. Went from 3 Mbps at the far end of the house to 50 Mbps via speed test on a 50 Mbps Internet connection. Put this in as part of a cord cutting project to get rid of cable. Totally satisfied!!

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear orbi is a great product. The router and satellite cover my 3000 square foot house with the same wifi speed that is coming into the house of 230mb. We have at least 15 devices connected all over the house and it provides blazing fast internet including chromecast from our smart phones. The installation was fairly straightforward but it is critical that the firmware is updated and on the satellite first. I used a manual update of firmware rather that the auto method based on reviews I read and it worked fine. Just make sure you are patient while it updates and reconnects. Great product.

IT'S AMAAAAAAAAAZING!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried more than a few MESH systems and this one by far was the friendliest, most consistent performing one I used. I knew it was good when my wife never asked if we were having problems. We were coming from a Nighthawk R7000 (not bad) and it didn't seem to have the power to push all of the wireless devices which have crept into the house...and we didn't even have that many. 12ish. Anyway, this RBK50 delivered consistent quality high speeds no matter which mode you were on so it was very seemless. I'm very happy with it.

Netgear Orbi Router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently exchanged "old" combination modem/router for "new" & separate modem & router as I was told by cable company that I would see a great improvement. Wrong! Nothing worked properly and everything was extremely slow! Someone recommended Orbi, I purchased it, and now everything works as it should. I am a dinosaur and not "tech savvy", but I know Orbi works extremely well for my household.

Very fast and seamless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to getting the Obri AC3000 our WiFi was slow and not dependable. This changed with our new system. It is very fast and with the satellite unit covers our entire 3 floor home without interruption. My only regret is that didn’t get it sooner.

Great So Far, Excellent Speed & Range...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best router I've had so far. It is extremely fast, and has excellent range. I can get a very good wireless signal in many areas that were previously dead zones. I would highly recommend it, just make sure to update the firmware!

Easy setup and use, great coverage and speed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a lot of reviews and dug into the features and I decided to give the Orbi a shot. I was a little unsure based on some user reviews pointing out some problems but based on my experience those bugs have been cleaned up since the initial release. I'm very happy with the ease of setup, the user interface, the features it provides and most of all the speed and coverage it provides. This setup is more than enough to cover my 5100 sqft house including the back yard and garage.

Love this performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced Norton Core and prior Nighthawk unit with this. Love that satellites have ethernet connections on them. Uses dedicated backchannel so satellites have no slow down in performance. Great ease in managing via app. Highly recommend this.

Great mesh system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last router left a few dead spots in my house so I purchased this based off of online reviews and am not disappointed. It was very easy to set up, the app is great and I haven’t had one issue with the system. I’ve had power outages and had to relocate the satellite a couple of times and it always boots right back up with no problems. The system took care of the dead spots and actually provides the internet speed I actually pay for. I don’t think I’ll ever need to go back to a traditional router. I am very satisfied with this product.

Great router for full coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After upgrading my high speed internet to 100mbs I needed a router system that could cover my entire house. Modest 2200 Sqft home with 3 br. I placed the primary unit downstairs and the satellite upstairs. Not a single dead zone in my house.

Great option for anyone that has dead wifi zones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had several dead zones because router could not be moved from basement. We needed a longer range of wifi to reach outside to our garage for a wireless security sensor. For a big house and property it is worth the extra money. Easy to install.

Best Wifi - actually works as advertised!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.7,500 sf lot and two story 6000 sf house. This covers everything seamlessly. I have it set up with three satellites. This has been the solution to all other wifi issues. I tried EERO (so did their engineer who paid me a home visit) but couldnt get it working with consistency and had no explanation and refunded my money after taking 1 month of my time troubleshooting). I tried Cr-Apple Airport Extremes/Base Stations/Time Capsules, with 11 hardwired airport expresses - that did not work. This does. It was easy to set up and kept working and still does.

Consistent at 100Mbps+ & no more dropped devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router delivers consistent speed and doesn't drop your connected devices no matter how many devices are connected at the same time. I have more than 20 devices connected to my router from laptops, smartphones, tablets, ip cameras, smart switches/lights, hubs, smart locks, and other smart devices for home automation. I used to have devices drop off the network and lose WiFi connection. I thought that the smart devices were defective. After doing some research I found out that the old router I had was the culprit - it limited the total number of connections and drop devices. My old Motorola and Arris Surfboard routers were not able to deliver consistent connections and speeds were slow and become even slower when streaming video or when multiple users are online so I decided to buy a new router. After doing research about several types of routers I decided to buy the Orbi system. I'm glad I bought this router, I now have coverage anywhere in the house (approx. 1,800 sq.ft.) plus the front and backyards (approx. 8,000 sq.ft. total lot size). The download speed throughout my house is now consistent and I get 110 Mbps ++ anywhere (w/ Charter Spectrum Internet) . Devices connected include a MacBook Pro, 2 PCs, an iPad, a Galaxy Note, Roku 3, Amazon Firestick, Google Chromecast, Wink Hub, WiFi Thermostat, multiple WeMo light switches, multiple Kwikset door locks, multiple Leviton Decora Smart Dimmer switches, a smart Garage Door controller, a WiFi Printer, a Lorex NVR, an Arlo Pro system, and a Smart TV. All the smart devices are now connected all the time without any device dropping off the network.

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.More like a 4 and a half stars, but I love it! Gives an undeniably great coverage throughout the house!! It is phenominial, not as fast as a traditional router but still very good, get great speeds from the satellite as well!!!

Easy to use system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router may seem pricey but it will work wonders and be the last one you’ll need! This router and satellite system can support more than the average households amount of WiFi equipment and even cover the distance of a large home (over 4000 square feet). My last router couldn’t handle the amount of devices hooked up to it at once and they would drop off or have to be rest. This device fixed all that and even automatically updates itself with the latest software updates.

Excellent product that (mostly) delivers.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*I've docked a star because there is an apparent issue with the backhaul network between the base station and satellite. Also, the Alexa integration does not seem to work (at all or spotty at best). Read on for more information. The new Orbi base station and satellite replaced an older Nighthawk R7000. Its been in active use for a month now. I've had various issues with the Nighthawk over time that led me to try alternatives such as a cheapo Tenda AC1900 router. I upgraded firmware on the Nighthawk, I factory reset, I installed an open source router firmware (DDWRT), and eventually reflashed to a much older firmware revision. I managed to get my network to usable states but I kept encountering one issue or another tied to the evolving state of my network. My three most prominent issues were 1) workplace VPN connectivity was terrible (over time and sporadically), 2) streaming to XBOX and PS3/4/PRO was met with constant buffering and downloads by PS3/4/PRO were ridiculously slow (as in overnighters), and 3) issues with security camera quality/ connectivity. Some history about my Nighthawk and the environment it was in for the better part of 6-7 years. I went from a two person household in a condo downtown to a 6 person household spread across a 2500 sqft 1970s split-level home. I went from subscribing to 75 -> 250 -> 100 MB internet tiers. I went from a few computers and mobile devices, to half a dozen computers, many streaming devices and NAS, and SmartHome and security hubs and base stations. My needs just kept growing and I had no consistent measure of what was going wrong since issues were intermittent, sporadic, and always inconvenient. In the end, things like concern for coverage, signal quality, and router processing capabilities just seemed to be at issue. After trying many many things, reading many many reviews, and deciding against enterprise mesh solutions coworkers recommended, I decided to take the plunge and buy the Orbi. I'm glad I did. First of all, I'm familiar with Netgear. I'm familiar with their products, service, support, and their GUIs. I loved that the Orbi allows both the traditional (and "advanced" web GUI) as well as simplified mobile based GUI. On to my configuration. Due to wiring constraints, I decided to have my base station on western most side of the my home where my living room TV was located. The satellite was placed in a laundry room in the center of the home. Connected to the satellite was a switch to which all of the SmartHome, security cameras, NAS, and other hubs connected. Over the course of two weeks I experienced intermittent issues with devices apparently going offline. Most were brief outages, long enough to be detected, but not so long as to cause major concern. My SmartHome hubs would send out offline/online alerts. Cameras stopped functioning periodically. My work laptop which is connected to the switch had applications like Slack# complain about losing connectivity. FWIW I double hop to my workplace data center. So, to work, I actually use my PC in my office (wireless) to RDP into my work laptop downstairs (wired) which is itself VPN'd into my workplace. My remote desktop sessions to servers I connect to via VPN would just blink and/or disconnect with retry operations. I thought that there were issues with devices at first because they didn't all occur at the same time. Or they didn't seem to, anyway. For the wireless gadgets I thought that some of the "advanced" features such as MUMIMO, beamforming, and fast roaming were perhaps issues. Maybe my IP address reservations were a problem(?). Then I came across several (and I mean many!) forum posts dating as far back as 2016. In these posts, people were complaining about the same type of problem: intermittent but terribly inconvenient disconnects. Though I saw many blue post replies indicating recent firmware updates addressed many specific device connectivity issues, I never quite saw the same precise issues I encountered. Even so, I was already on the latest firmware and running a product nearly six months after the most recent post. Finally, I came across something that made some sense. One owner suggested that the problem was satellite connectivity issues with the base station via the "backhaul" wireless connection. Another line of thought was that Orbi was handing off connections between base station and satellite and that the frequent handoff was causing problems. I proceeded to troubleshoot things with these two suggestions in mind. First test was simply switching positions of the base station and the satellite. This meant having to run a new electrical outlet and a new coax/ ethernet jack to the laundry room (the original config just had a temporary ethernet cable and power cable in use). This new config meant that things would be a little more permanent. Besides, I couldn't move the base station without moving the cable modem and who has tools needed to crimp new coax cable let alone dozens of cable laying around? Once all of the wiring was done I moved the base station to the laundry room in the center of the house and the satellite to the western most wall of my home. I left the satellite unpowered and turned on everything else. Just as before, coverage by the base station was exceptional and performance was great. I then proceeded to work for a few hours knowing full well the issues I experienced would manifest in just a few minutes. But much to my pleasant surprise - the issues didn't appear! Everything was humming along and I was able to get work done! I also confirmed that the devices on the main level (Apply TV 4K, Sonos, TVs, consoles) were able to connect and perform well using wireless connections to the now relocated base station. No problems there! So, I did the last leg of my troubleshooting. I wanted to see if these devices experienced problems with the satellite either wired to it or wireless. I had to resync the pair, but things seem to be working fine now. I'm not sure if that is because most of the devices use some kind of buffering for the content we consume... or if the satellite is just not dropping the backhaul any longer. I have yet to examine the logs for proof eitherway, but I am fine leaving things just the way they are. I'll submit a support incident to Netgear mainly because I would like to know if there is a known issue with the backhaul in certain layouts. It seems the most plausible of causes (though I didn't really trawl through the logs to confirm anything). It is now days later and I have not received any more of those disconnect alerts from my SmartHome or security hubs, streaming devices, and/or applications. Bonus! I no longer have to use my 1Gbps Netgear Powerline adaptors for the far ends of my home. The wifi quality is just that good. These devices cost a bit of coin. But, considering what they do and their longivity it is money well spent. They just need to work. If you have a setup similar to mine and don't mind a little bit of troubleshooting - this is definitely a great buy.

The only thing that has worked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried 3 different routers and extenders and this is the only solution that has entirely covered my house upstairs and down with barely a dip in speeds even in the areas of mu house that used to get zero coverage.
