I was initially skeptical about paying double the amount of what I had paid for my router, which was considered on the higher end of models. But, this was absolutely worth paying top dollar for in order to maximize every MBPS out of your internet speed. Since I have had high speed internet, I have never EVER actually experienced real time speeds of what I was paying for with any router. For example, right now, I'm paying for 200mbps plan with Xfinity, but never managed to see more than 100 on my laptops or any devices, according to speedtest.net and just based on general wait time experiences with streaming and buffering. I live in a 1400 sq/ft home built in the 50s, and had a dead zone in the farthest room and choppy service in the room next door from where the old router was; this was likely due to thick wall material apparently common with older houses, which was disrupting the signal strength and speed. Now with this tri-band Orbi, I CONSISTENTLY get OVER 200mbps (according to the built-in speed test app as well as speedtest.net) with all of my devices, hard wired and wirelessly, literally EVERYWHERE in the house and even as far as the backyard. I absolutely recommend this for anyone experiencing choppy, inconsistent speeds and dead zones; or even anyone in general who just wants to actually get the speed that they pay for that they're not getting with their traditional router. For the first time since the advent of internet, I now know what it's like to actually experience real time speeds with the internet speed I am paying for, and this is all due to the technology of whole-home wifi.

I've used the Orbi system for nearly two years, first with a base plus single satellite, and this recent purchase was to get a second satellite (cheaper to buy a new pair than single satellite). The setup is super easy, first with wifi backhaul and then I connected via cat5e wire. It has plenty of security features if you need them or you can go with the basics.

Bought this cause o had a few dead spots in the house. Have the main router on the second floor at one end of house and satellite on first floor at other end of house. Coverage is awesome and makes it into the backyard. Setup was easy and quick. Didn’t see any speed drop across the range. Really like the built in Disney circle and Bitdefender. Both are great to have especially with kids.

I had the linksys velop system and it was always cutting in and out. This system I have not had any issues with except with plugged in ethernet devices(more later). The user interface is extremely user friendly as well as the phone app. I have had no connectivity issues with this system in almost 6 months. My only issue with rebooting, and now I know, unplug all external ethernet connected devices from the satellite until after the reboot and then plug back in and you're good to go. If you leave them connected the satellite never really wants to connect for some reason.. save yourself the 4 hours it took me to figure that out. Hands down blows away the linksys where I needed the router and 2 satellites. This system with the router and 1 satellite covers every spot in my 3k sqft house. And I have thick walls and kitchen cabinets in between the devices. Great buy even tho it's on the pricer side but extremely worth it.

Overall this wireless mesh router is great. The coverage it provides at my house is fantastic, and I have no dead spots. The biggest issue is the set up. It took several calls with the service team to finally get it set up properly. The main issue was that the firmware was not up today. Hard to believe that a product can be sold with out of date firmware.

We have a 3000+ sq foot house shaped like an L, 2 stories. We could never get a signal in the "L" where my husband's office is located. Purchased this system for Christmas, set up was a breeze. Now we have reception everywhere, including our attached garage second floor. Problems solved! It was a bit expensive, but we're happy with its performance for sure. I would recommend this for people who have similar issues as we did. It works GREAT.

Haven’t had any WiFi issues anywhere in my house since installing the Orbi. Easy to set up and start using. Definitely worth the money to not have any interruptions in my WiFi!

Wifi unit is a great unit. Satellite extends signal and can add a 3rd satellite. Easy to config. Powerful. Now the drawback, you have to pay for firewall security if you want it. For the money you spend on this, you should not have to spend money for annual subscriptions. While not having it will not make you router less secure. Would be the same as all the other low scale routers.

I looked high and low for a wifi mesh system that would cover my 3000 square foot home. I was previously using an Apple AirPort Extreme along with an Apple AirPort Express. With the Apple system, I experienced major speed degredation when closest to the Express unit (the one I was using as a repeater. I have XFINITY 150 Mbps service and could only get to about 30 Mbps around this repeater unit. Horrible! Then I brought in the Orbi system. In several speed tests, my devices typically register around the 150 Mbps mark whether I'm around the main router or the satellite. And moving around the house with my phone was seamless. Not even one hiccup. I HIGHLY recommend this system. I understand that the very expensive Eero system generates the same speed degredation I had experienced with the Apple set up. So why even bother with that? I've read that the new Google Wi-Fi mesh system works well, so that may be an alternative. But if you want a sure-shot, go with the Orbi. You won't be disappointed.

Set this bad boy up in no time and the signal strength is well beyond the Verizon wireless zone. Setup was as simple as plug and play and then just configuring the security features. The app works well too. I used it initially, however I felt better connecting laptop to the device and going through the setup via the laptop. I have to admit the price is pretty steep, but for me it was well worth placing the charge on my BB card.

Orbi was simple to setup, easy to use, no issues when switching between main base and satellite. Everything has been seamless. Best WiFi network setup I’ve ever experienced.

I bought the system with just one satellite and wasn't sure it would cover my home but I am getting strong WiFi signal in every part of my home (even out on the deck). Our days of poor Skype and FaceTime sessions are behind us now. The system is a little pricey but well worth it. And the setup is simple with the Orbi app too. Thank You NetGear!

I have had this Orbi system for about a year, so I think I have enough time under my belt for a pretty accurate review. I have had nothing but a positive experience with this setup. I have about 4500 square feet to cover over 3 floors in my house - basement home theatre, first floor and second floor. I have the base router on the 1st floor in my office and the one satellite out in my 1st floor family room (pretty much directly over my basement devices - but one floor up). I have absolutely no streaming issues anywhere in my house, regardless of floor. I really love the ability to hardwire ethernet into the satellite. I actually would like to buy another satellite for the basement just for this purpose (even though I have no coverage or speed issues)...however this extra satellite is way too expensive in my opinion. The app is really simplistic and the downside is that there really isn't that many features for experienced network experts to play around with, but for the average user, it has worked pretty flawlessly with only a couple very transient (30 second) drop outs during the past year. I have 100Mbps Wi-Fi coming into the house from Spectrum and surprisingly I regularly get around 117Mbps download speeds on the 1st floor (according to Ookla Speedtest) and 60+ Mbps on other levels of my house....with 15+ devices connected...more than enough for 4K streaming. Highly recommend!

This replaced a 10 year old Linksys network that was obsolete. Straightforward set up for the most part and the performance is a huge upgrade. Instructions on the Orbi app are incomplete regarding the set-up of a password for the Guest network, if you're using one. I had to call Netgear product support, go to a separate webpage and proceed from there, thus the 4 stars.

Upgraded to smart TV and extender wasn’t cutting it. This works great. A bit pricey but, Covers into the yard with almost no drop off from modem to router to satellite.

Great overall system! Excellent upgrade for y 2400sq ft home. Have over 12 WiFi electronic connections and all of them function at high speed. No loss of speed noted.

Set up was easy, the range is fabulous. My previous WiFi left most of our home unserved and now even have coverage for outdoor kitchen. Definitely a great purchase.
