The title speaks for itself. I had two days that I could schedule this appointment since I work 60 hours a week, and on the one day that we were scheduled I received a call at 8am telling me that the technician had "called in sick." No offer to send another technician over, nothing. Very disappointing. My first time trying to use this service.

There was so much to do,when he came out to set up my new smart tv and hook up all my components: dvd player, receiver, cd player, vcr player and surround sound speakers; he had to come back to show and teach me how to use the Smart hub. I'm grateful to have the help of the Geek Squad.

I went to the store at noon today and got information about Roku and asked about installing it. The clerk assoc #117291 explained it clearly to us and I asked about installing it and he suggested using the Geek Squad, so I did. Habier of the Geek Squad came by at 1:30 PM today. How can you beat that service. Habier was excellent and explained all
aspects clearly and it was a job because we are 80 yrs old and don't understand this new electronics very well, plus we can't see very well. He was understanding and thorough . A great asset to your company.

My e-reader, tablet, HP network printer and Samsung network printer (together with a network switch) were successfully incorporated into my home LAN. None of these worked before the Geek Squad worked on the problem. Also, the network security was upgraded from WEP to WPA2 (two laptops, TV, and two laptops). The only glitch was that the agent that came to my house gave me the wrong online web site for chat line help and the agent (Marty) finished helping me before discovering that my activation code did not work on his web site and I understood he might not be paid for helping me. Agent Devlin said that he would try to straighten it out. Agent Marty was very good to work with and I felt bad that he might not be paid for his excellent work.

I purchased a new receiver and bluray player from Best Buy. I needed them to be connected to my existing surround sound speakers along with my TV and CD player. The Geek Squad set up the entire system in less than an hour. Everything works great. It was well worth the money to get the peace of mind that everything would be connected correctly and effeciently by a professional installer.

After the guy left my house, I went out to eat, came home to get on my computer, discovered it lockedup, I needed a password, but I had it set up without requiring a password.No one on the geek squad could help me, told me to take it to the store. I got on my old computer, call GS back, got help from Jon, he unlocked it, discovered nothing had been installed correctly. I requested a refund for this home service, and it has been a nightmare ever since. I waited for a call back, finally I put a stop payment on this service, which they the n turned over to a collection agency. I then discovered I had even been charged twice. So I got the Better Business Bureau involved. I like computers, but sometimes it would be nice to talk to a real person. I would never recommend the Home Installation now. Would recommend, the geek phone service, except one geek hung up on me, I think because she couldn't help me. I still have problems with how the installer did some things like with my printer.

Purchased a new network setup for my elderly parents who live out of state. The Geek showed up at their place and quickly setup their wireless network and devices. The Geek was very professional and answered all the questions my parents had about their new router and setup. I would recommend Geek Squad to anyone unable to remotely assist family with tech issues.

The boys did a fine job of setting up my new HDTV and DVD. They ran into problems attempting to install in-wall cables due to my home construction and I ended up with the cables running down the wall to the outlet - will hide with molding. They coordinated their activities so little time was lost and the job was completed to my satisfaction within 3 hours. I will use GeekSquad in the future and recommend them.

Not as good as I expected

My first issue was my cursor was stuck. I called the number on my contract and was told that there would be a 20 minute wait. I then called the agent at the Bloomington store. He looked the problem up and told me to try cleaning the pad, and, if that didn't work, I'd have to bring it in. It didn't work so I planned to take it to the Peoria store, but called first. That agent said I just needed to push the off button, then push it again to reboot it. It worked, but why didn't the Bloomington agent know that?! I was also told to always shut down my computer when I was done, which was probably why it froze. I hope if I have any major issues, they are resolved in a more efficient manner.

I requested a Geek Squad member come out to make sure I had my new HDTV and NetGear Powerline Ethernet Adaptor set up and connected to other components properly. I DID and the rep complimented me on that. So we spent the alloted time going over how to use the system and how a Harmony remote control would make it easier to use different components that needed to be turned on together for different uses. After the visit, I purchased the recommended remote and LOVE IT! The rep had great knowledge of products.

Very professional aqnd affordable in home techinical help. The agents jump right in and get the work done in a friendly manner. It is difficult ot get the call center folks to book the right work to be done if your job doesn't fall precisely inot a task such as to set up an inhiome wirelss network. If your task isn't a cookie cutter task it may be bet to book the appointment in a store.

I've used the Geek Squad a few times when I don't want the hassle of having to install and configure certain equipment myself, or don't know exactly how to. Each time the person has been professionl and knowledgeable, as well as taking time to explain what they are doing. They call in advance, show up when they say and do their job quickly. They even wear "booties" to cover their (possibly) dirty shoes before they come in the house!
I would recommend them even if you didn't make your purchase at Best Buy!

Good to have Geek help with Network setup

Was very pleased with the original set up of my Wireless Computer System but after a week we kept losing the internet connection. I contacted "The Geek Squad" and they said they would come back out and recheck the setup. It was concluded that my internet provider service plan was not strong enough to handle 3 computers in various locations in our home. The technician reset the settings and got it back on track again.
With the information that was given to me I have since researched the various speeds that would increase good connection to the Internet. Because the main computer of the setup was older and needed to be upgraded, I decided to go out and buy a new desktop at Best Buys. I will now have the Geek Squad come out and set it up for me in my home. I will also be upgrading my ISP and increase the speed needed to have a good Internet connection.

Positive experience. In spite of difference between what the initial contact at Geek Squad said was included in the service and what the agent said is normally provided, the agent took the extra time to correct all the issues and install the wireless networking.
