I mainly bought it to take pictures of my son while he plays sports. I love it. Right now he is in the middle of hockey season and the pictures I am getting with it are awesome. The conditions are difficult with the light and ice in some rinks but the pictures turn out beautiful. I take hundreds of pictures per game and can't wait to get home and look them over. It is definitely easy to use and the picture quality is unbelievable. I love the fact that I can crop a picture and the image is still crystal clear.

I am new at professional photography and recently purchased this camera. It seems relatively simple to use once I get the hang of it..I am still learning the features. However, I am very happy I purchased it..the pictures are great quality and downloading them to my phone is a quick and easy process using Nikon's wireless mobile adapter. I would highly recommend this camera to beginning professionals.

I have bought and returned several dslr cameras from Best Buy. Thank you Best Buy for your patience. I will be keeping this one. It works well with action shots and the color is comparable to the Sony camera I already own. I have been looking for something to capture my children's action shots in their sporting events and so far this one works well. Remember to format the memory card before taking pictures. We didn't, as the message to format the card didn't come up and we lost some valuable pictures.

I surprised my mom with this camera for her birthday - she's always held the nickname "paparazzi" because she loves taking pictures, so this camera was right up her alley. The lenses that were included are great for users diving into DSLRs for the first time. I highly recommend playing around with the settings and taking practice shots in different environments - outdoor, indoor, urban, sports/performance, landscape, portraits. Especially if you are upgrading from a point-and-shoot, once you get the hang of it, you will love the beautiful photos that this camera is able to deliver. I paired the birthday gift with David Busch's book "Nikon D3300: Guide to Digital SLR Photography," which is a great comprehensive guide to getting acquainted with and mastering the endless possibilities of this camera. Highly recommended!

I am by no means an expert when it comes to camera, but after reading all the camera reviews this is the one we landed on. It has taken great pictures...super easy to use. My only comment of concern is that the lens cap pops off easily and it does not have a string to attach it to the camera so we almost lost it a few times already. Other than that...loving it

Being a beginner, I wanted a camera that would be user friendly as well as provide great image quality. I looked at Canon cameras as well as a few Nikon DSLRs and I am completely satisfied with this camera! It is capable of both automatic and manual functioning and takes great portraits of people as well as scenery and great quality action shots of my 8 year old stepsons soccer games. I really like that you can use the screen for a live view if you wish.

I've been using this camera for a few months now and I really like it. This is my 2nd Nikon DSLR, my previous camera was a D40. This is much better in terms of picture quality and overall feature set than the older D40 was. It is also very easy to use for SLR beginners, but has enough flexibility to keep up with more advanced users. I recently added a 35mm Nikon prime lens that is fantastic for the price. I was torn between this camera and the D5XXX and D7XXX cameras, but ended up going with this for the price. There weren't really any features on the more expensive crop sensor Nikons that I needed. The only thing I would rather have is a full frame like the D610 but the price is significantly higher, so I went with the 3300. So far I am happy with that decision.

I bought this camera to take photos of our newborn daughter and it has impressed. In this age of every cell phone having an adequate/decent camera, we had been relying solely on our phones as our primary camera. That all changed when the baby was born. I wanted to capture high MP images and this camera is straight-forward and easy to use. We are still learning how to master the camera, but it has worked great for us right out of the box.

This is a very user friendly SLR camera with instant Guide to explain the common features. Start with point and shoot feature and progress to more technical features. It has all the necessary built in features like portrait, landscape, sports action shots. Images are crisp and sharp. It can also take good pictures in extreme low light condition.

So far, this is a great camera. It takes crystal clear pictures. It is easy to use and understand. Nikon puts out a great product and services for when you purchase a camera. Check out Nikon school too. My wife's 20 year old lens from her SLR from way back, fits too. I love the compatability.

Great Camera for Stepping up to DSLR

Stepped up to DSLR after 9 years of P&S/Phone/Advanced P&S. Had a 35MM SLR "Back in the Day" and missed the quality of the images. Didn't want to spend a great deal of money. Nikon had a [basically] 50% off sale just before Christmas...couldn't resist. It has been excellent. Have used in hockey rinks, night time events and outdoors. Still learning all the features but particularly love the ability to go full manual as well as simple P&S. See 2 images for "stopping down" experiment I was trying .....
