PROS: Very light Touchscreen rotatable display 1080p video 100-25600 ISO range Time lapse function HDMI & 3.5mm headphone jack Sharp pictures WiFi connectivity CONS: WiFi does not allow the download of .RAW files to your device due to the size Auto focus AI servos are not the best by any means, it will refocus on a stable shot for absolutely no reason Below are a few pictures I shot with this camera (not all of them are using the 18-55mm lens).

This is my second Nikon Camera and I love it! It is easy to use and offers a variety of features. My favorite thing about it is the ability to directly connect to my iPhone through WiFi so that I am able to get the photos immediately. This camera also has video which is nice, you have to have very steady hands for the video though (if not it easily appears shaky). The screen is touch screen which makes it easy to view and zoom in on photos. Also the ability to flip the screen in both directions is nice for times you want to maybe take a selfie! I love this camera and think it’s great! I am still learning some of the features.

While getting into photography, I wanted to get something midrange, not a D3200 but also didn’t want to go with the more expensive full frame options. It’s light and compact, people have asked if it was a mirror less. It works great with both FX and DX lenses and takes wonderful photos.

My favorite purchase to date! I know it’s just a beginner camera, but I rarely ever leave home without it. The moments in life that can be captured are unreal. The parts of nature that no one else ever pays attention to: those are the things that light my heart on fire and this camera brings those pieces of time to a split second for me. This camera and all the lenses I’ve bought for it take those precious moments and capture them for me to hold onto. I love my camera and I’m sure one day I’ll upgrade but this one will always have a piece of my heart. Perfect for people starting out just like me and perfect for what you want in the beginning.

I'm brand new to photography, but I have always had an interest in it. This camera has been easy to use so far and I'm so excited to use this camera for years to come Only thing i would recommend is to buy a new strap immediately! The Nikon strap that came with the camera isn't great and my camera dropped the first day and now it has a tiny scratch on the body which was gonna happen anyway cause I drop everything... anyway, thats my only "complaint".

Nikon 5600 with 18-55 and 18-140 mm lense kit. SnapBridge stinks. Spent hours with no avail. Purchased 2 cameras in a row. Same 5600 with kit. Ended up with Sony a6000 mirrorless. I'm better satisfied. It has 11 frames per second. Takes great pics. You can also by adaptors and use vintage lenses for cheap. A6000 has great (play memories) wifi app for uploading stills. Not a problem. Best Buy sales rep. Says SnapBridge works for 1out of 10 people.

I purchased the D5600 as a beginner camera, to get back into photography. For the price, the camera is packed with features, and is a pretty easy camera to learn on.

Reviewing this after a year of owning and using this DSLR and I absolutely love it. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and has every feature you could want as a beginner AND intermediate photographer. The touchscreen camera rotates out and swivels which is a big plus and the built-in bluetooth and WiFi when used with the Nikon app gives you access to photos on your smartphone INSTANTLY. I highly recommend getting a Nikon 50mm prime lens if you want to take great portrait photos! The bokeh (blurred background effect) is phenomenal! I’ve even been offered money to take photos of others. Learn to shoot in Manual and you’ll book little grad/prom/birthday photo shoots in no time!

I purchased this camera before my trip to Canada. I haven't had a decent camera since my Nikon 35mm so it's been a long while. I am absolutely happy with my choice. Not a huge learning curve for me. I found it easy to use and my pictures turned out amazing. I started dabbling in the manual settings also. *Battery lasts a very long time *Fits into my hand great, easy to hold, comfortable. *Good for a beginner

This is my first DSLR. I've used Sony cameras for years {point and shoot as well as the a3000 mirrorless} and learning my way around Nikon hasn't been a problem. This has tons of features to take you form a beginner to an advanced shooter. The image quality is surprisingly great. Even with the included kit lens. I would recommend getting better glass as soon as you can. The 50mm prime I have really brings more life to the photos. The articulating touch screen is a really great feature to have. It's easy to see in direct sunlight. I'd recommend this camera over a 3000 series any day.

We purchased this camera as an upgrade to our extremely old D80. The first thing I noticed is how light the camera was compared to our old one. It's also a bit smaller. Not exactly pocket size, but not a burden to carry around. The settings are easy to understand, and you can see the settings on the LDC screen. Speaking of the LCD screen, it's nice feature is being able to flip out, around and upside down. Basically can be at any angle (to allow you to take pictures behind that giant of a man standing in front of you). But the best feature has to be the Snapbridge. This allows you to link your phone to the camera via bluetooth. As you take that perfect picture with your camera, it'll sync up with your phone moments later. You can then immediately post that perfect picture on your favorite social media. My only complaint is that snapbridge is a bit finicky. It's saying it won't connect, then moments later it's connected. Can't figure out when or why. Otherwise, it's a great camera that takes incredible pictures. Oh, and just to give my background-i'm an extreme novice when it comes to taking pictures. I really don't know the difference between an ISO/Aperture or shutter. But when I use the camera settings based on day/night/auto the pictures look great.

I purchased this camera to replace my Nikon D3300. I was debating between this, and the D7200 even though its an older model, it had more features, in the end the size is what determined my choice as the 5600 is about the same size and weight as my previous model. I love this camera. The touch screen took a little getting use to as far as making quick adjustments, and I think I'd still rather just have a couple of buttons or a wheel, but overall not that big of a deal. The auto focus is excellent, I have used the camera primarily for shooting action sports of my daughter. I'd have liked to have had a camera with a little bit faster frames per second, but 5 really is plenty for what I do. I also took some amazing shots outdoors in Colorado in the Rockies.

Fantastic camera for the price; and makes for a great starter or intermediate photographer's camera. Beautiful, high quality pictures, good battery life, plenty of features and setting. My wife and I have been getting into photography, coupling it with our love of nature and hiking. This camera has taken some beautiful landscape, sunset, sunrise, and mountain top photographs.
