Customers recognize the Commercial 14.9 elliptical's ease of use and extensive workout programs as significant advantages. The machine's quality and relatively quiet operation are also frequently praised, along with its large, high-resolution screen. However, some users find the resistance levels to be challenging, even at the lowest setting.

So far so good. I’ve been using this elliptical with the iFit program and it’s working great! Not to difficult to put together as long as you follow the directions. I suggest getting a mat to put underneath to save your floor.

Best Buy delivered and assembled a broken Elliptical. I was able to try it for a few minutes. The resistance is a bit harder than most elliptical. The technology on this is great. Too bad I could use it

Machine is easy to use, quiet, stationary when utilized on a mat. Programs are unlimited for any type of workout. Best Buy delivery men were able to place the Nordic track elliptical shipping box in my basement as requested with no problem.
Thank you. It’s going to be a great year to Nordic Track!

Great machine, but forced to use crappy iFit app

Great workout machine, but a few drawbacks that made me give it 2 stars.
Pros
+ Very comparable to the machines you see at the gym
+ Solid and sturdy
+ Big large high res screen
+ Adjustable fan
Cons
- The biggest reason I knocked off a few stars is because you are forced to use iFit platform, which costs $15/month. The only other option is Manual mode, but you have to adjust the ramp and resistance yourself. There aren't any pre-canned programs like you see in normal machines (i.e. interval, hill, heart rate target, etc). This is the biggest reason to knock off several stars. This machine costs $2000, I expect it to have these minimal features. They can easily fix this with a software upgrade, but they wont. I realized this too late as I signed up for the free 30 day trial and could not return it in the return window.
- If you decide that you like the iFit program, you'll realize how slow and laggy the whole thing is. It takes forever to move from screen to screen and it just feels very sluggish. Startup time can take MINUTES. The Peloton is in the same price range and their app/system is far beyond iFit.
- No heart beat sensor. For a $2000 machine, you would think that such a basic feature would be available, but its not. Due to this you get incorrect readings for calories burned (verified this with my Fitbit - its way off)
- Most of the machine is rock solid, but some parts are flimsy and cheap. On one of the arms, the resistance control unit is falling out - it seems to lost its adhesive. Again, $2000 machine -- are you kidding?
Ideally, I would've liked to spend less on a simpler machine that gave me basic features like a heart beat sensor and simple precanned workouts (hill, interval, etc). Would be nice to have built in apps like Netflix, Disney+, etc because right now I'm having to put an iPad over the large screen and ignoring the entire iFit progam.

We are glad you enjoy the quality of this machine, and will note all your feedback for consideration for future improvements to our machines. Your suggestions are important to us.
Please know that if you don’t prefer to have an iFIT membership, but would like to have access to auto features, the iFIT library has a limited number of workouts available for free when you enter the library without logging in. These limited workouts change periodically.
We also are continually updating the iFIT app to improve its performance to minimize any lagging. We have found that wearable heart beat sensors are more accurate to connect with the app than the hand-grip sensors on the machines and recommend these.
If you have any further concerns or questions for us email [email protected].

Two part review

Absolutely love it
Two part review
1. The elliptical it’s self is sturdy and good quality. I’ve use commercial grade gym equipment for thirty years and this is the perfect home machine for any fitnesses level. At 53 and considering myself to still be at a moderate / just under advanced fitness level the machine is perfect.
2. IFIT itself I would give five stars. More if I could. The new active pulse and music choice features are great. IFIT itself has massive library of workouts of many kinds that it keep you engaged all the time. You actually look forward to getting on the machine and working out. You could do something new everyday. Also when you find a trainer that’s a good fit for you it seems that you feel your right there with them.
Only two cons I have are 1. sometimes it’s a little hard to find a workout to chose in the program so research and plan ahead. So many choices abs the program it’s self is a little cumbersome to go through. 2. Note you do have to power any norditack machine off when not in use. They do not go into standby or sleep mode. The start up time when turned on is a couple minutes.

As a 44 year old on again off again gym member, I decided I needed a machine that would keep me engaged that would mimic my favorite gym machine (elliptical). My first take on the machine was it was harder resistance to rotate pedals than gym machines. After a month of talking myself off the machine I gave it another try, without expectations. Started VERY slow and now am hooked! The IFIT trainers and screen size make this machine a stand out! Been on it almost daily since.

Smooth running machine with no heart rate sensor

The product runs smoothly and the ifit program which it comes with (1year subscription family plan) is fun to use! I walk sometimes leisurely with their guided short tours around the world and exercise with the variety of programs they offer. The moving handles are a little too tall as I am on the short size and I don't like that it does not have a heart rate sensor on the handlebars. One of my handlebars came with a rusted spot and the installers said they can't do anything about it unless I exchange it.

I like it. Smooth glide and feels sturdy. Screen is clear and easy to use. Some troubles when it arrived damaged, needed to wait for parts and then a crew to put the wiring together for us. It took close to a month to finally use after arriving. Help line was professional and responsive, the process just moved too slow.

Poor quality materials

I enjoyed this machine for about 2+ years, but after that we had a weld break and a plate crack. After repairing this issue, the piece that attaches the handle to the wheel broke - this piece is metal, about an inch in diameter. I was told that they could sell me a new piece since it was after the warranty. These are supposed to be durable, structural pieces that do not wear with use. I am disappointed in my investment with Nordic Track, as we have also had issues with our treadmill.
Either there is a design flaw, or they are using substandard metal.

This Machine Is Great, but...

The Good: The elliptical is smooth and quiet. The iFit videos are fantastic and really enjoyable. Though I turn the sound off because the instructors chatter too much for my taste. The footprint is slightly smaller than the posted dimensions, which is good.
The Delivery: The box is very heavy and large. Make sure whoever is delivering it puts it where you want it unless you've got people who can help you move it. It takes two strong men to move it while in the box. Once assembled it has wheels.
Assembly: The manual is decent and obvious. Just unboxing this beast took over an hour. If you are mechanically inclined, expect to spend at least four hours assembling this. There are lots of pieces. If you are placing this in a tight area, as I was, it will add to the difficulty of the assembly. They recommend 2 people, but I did it alone, which slowed the process down. The only real difficulty was attaching the LED monitor without someone holding it, but I got it in there. I suggest a metric socket and open-end wrench set instead of two adjustable wrenches, described in the manual. Only just enough screws and nuts you need. No extras. If you lose a screw, you are in trouble. Be careful. Use bowls.
Support: I called Nordic Track a couple of times and they were excellent. Got through quickly and the people I spoke to were knowledgeable. Very helpful.
The Bad: Overall the machine is great, but I do have one complaint. If you really get going on this thing it wobbles. That's why I dinged the quality by one notch. Not a lot, but noticeable. Don't worry. It won't fall over. I tried to tip it and I don't think it's possible, but it has a torsional wobble along the axis perpendicular to the feet(left/right). It's slight but it's noticeable. I tightened all the bolts, leveled the feet and the feet are firmly on the floor, but the mid-column is very tall and there is no lateral support, so it gets this left to right wobble when you go fast. If you are used to gym-quality equipment this may be noticeable to you. Remember, a gym-quality elliptical weighs 600lbs and costs more than twice as much. I believe this thing weighs about 210lbs. Overall, for the price and features, I think the machine is very good. I'll live with it and work on my form so my motion is more up and down, minimizing left to right.

So freaking heavy.. and bulky, too! Good thing it has wheels on one side, or we wouldn't be able to move it. Putting this thing together was such a hassle. Other than that, it does what it's suppose to do.

I have always purchased the Sole E95 and Sole E98 ellipticals, they are excellent. We wanted an online program to go with our new purchase though and the iFIT is awesome. We have the elliptical and have been using it for about a week now. So far it is a very solid and well designed piece of equipment. I would compare it pretty equally to our Sole E98.

This is a good machine. I only have 2 issues. The lowest resistance setting is pretty tough and the machine wobbles more than I would like.
