The best Android box of all time I recommend it to anybody who wants to buy the best Android shield tv better than Apple Roku and others

The product does an excellent job replacing my smart TV. It is very fast and responsive. I love the way it allows you to organize the front screen. Easily placing icons in the desired order. I also like that it suggests trending items to view or play on the front screen. It made several suggestions of shows I would like on you tube so I did not have to look them up myself. The remote PC game play is awesome, I was streaming my pc games at 2560x1200 resolution with no lag at all with a nvidia 970 chipset. But, I am also connected to my pc through a cat 6 line so I get really good connection speeds. There is also an option to play games on nvidia's network over the Internet where games are run on a super charged pc with an nvidia 1080 graphics card. The games were really smooth and fast for me on nvidia's site but then again I do have an Internet connection of 75mps up and down. Also, the controller it comes with is really nice and comfortable to use. I was able to successfully pair two addition ps4 controllers to the unit. It was pretty awesome, I was streaming Trine 3 in hires from my pc to the tv while playing with 2 friends. I was using the nvidia shield controller and they were using the ps4 controllers. If you wanted to you could just use the ps4 controller and not the nvidia controller at all. Just to note, i did pair a ps3 controller to the unit but was unable to pair more than one, it seems to be impossible to pair more than one ps3 contoller. Also, the only bad site about pairing a ps4 controller is you have to shut it off manually after you turn off the nvidia shield otherwise it just stays on. You shut it down by holding the ps button down for 10 seconds. I also paired my harmony remote with the nvidia shield perfectly, so now i can navigate all the menus with no problem even in apps like hulu. But, please note if you have a harmony that only does inferred the you need to buy THIS nvidia shield and not the 16 gig version which does not come with an inferred receiver. All in all the unit is incredible and hands down the smartest device out there, but I would buy the unit with 16 gigs and save $100. Put that $100 toward a portable hard drive with 2 tb of space and attach that instead of buying the 512 gigs which is a hard drive anyway. If it was a ssd instead I would say it was worth the extra $100. I think nvidia should drop the price to $250 which is a better price range for this product. Just note that if you attach a drive to the unit and you want to store games and apps on it then you will in to replace the originalast memory I the unit. So, for example you bought the 512 gig nvidia shield and you run out of room and want more space for games and apps, so you attach a 2tb drive to it later. Unfortunately, Android will only allow one encrypted drive at a time, so your internal drive will be disabled to allow users of the 2tb drive. This is why I recommend the 16gig version because then you are throwing away 16 gigs instead of 512.

If you like Nvida you will love this, very fast simple to use, lots of apps very versatile plus has just as much for the gamer as well perfect for the family, great graphics plenty of options and storage if you opt.for the pro edition nothing bad to say about the Nvida pro shield !!

The Nvidia Shield TV is a beast of a media center device. It has absolutely crushed everything I have asked it to do to include playing Wii games through the Dolphin emulator. With its robust capabilities I have been able to stream any content from my pled server, play old school games with ease and use the built in gamestream to play my new games over the house network from my gaming PC. For anyone looking for an everything device, look no further, this is the device you need.

If you are looking for a good 4K streamer that can do movies / TV shows AND your games, then stop looking. This is the one. Its very fast device, comes with the nicer remote that allows voice and remote sound. And of course, 500GB of storage space for games, and media if you want to use your own Plex / Kodi server. Very user friendly, and very easy to setup. Highly recommended.

I bought this device for accessing my plex server at the office, but once I started using there's so much more. It has its own plex server to store pictures, shows, videos , and music. Then there are tons of TV apps you can add to the menu to complete your media library. And there's the Google play store app to download android games, applications, and Android movies & TV. Just awesome, even the remote and controller have audio jacks built in for silent to your partner viewing. I urge you to get the Shield PRO, it's potential is endless.

Got this to put in our conversion van. Running on an inverter and it seems to work great so far to keep me and the kids entertained on camping trips. Remote and controller having the volume control on them are perfect and headphone jacks on both mean I can watch or play while the kids are asleep. All the streaming apps you need are there and an ok selection of games. Have not tried the Nvidia streaming service as not out for PC yet. I do have a Mac but can’t seem to set it up hence the 4 stars for now. Hope it will come soon.

If you are tired of the slow, buggy, and difficult to use streaming boxes - buy nvidia shield tv Pro. It is the king of these options; very fast; well supported, quickly updated, and packed full of options for gaming, media access, etc. These boxes have an active community and lots of online support. The controller is excellent and works well. The gaming controller included is very high quality also. The PRO version has huge amounts of storage available. 5/5 stars.

So far the shield has been great for what I wanted it for. First I wanted a second platform for a plex server. It seems to fill that roll pretty well. There are some known issues so do your research and know what to expect. I also wanted a decent platform for quick tv based games. I still have an ouya which I thought was a great idea, but it ultimately failed because of poor execution. This far surpasses anything ouya ever thought of. The ability to stream games from Nvidia's game service or a local computer make this so much more then you would originally think. 4k is also a great thing from this device. One thing to remember though is that some services need HDCP2.2 to provide 4k. Allot of tv's may have limitations around what ports support that with other features. For me to use 4k and have HDCP 2.2 I have to use a port that doesn't have HER support. Just check and know your hardware

If you are looking for a 4K streaming android box then this is the beast of it all. It has all the power and features you want. I am using this to stream IPTV and I can assure you it works flawlessly and gives the best experience. I occasionally play some android games and it's an absolute pleasure. The system is super fast to navigate and connects to external HDD and Micro SD cards. User interface is very easy and friendly and everything is laid out beautifully. Nvidia doesn't disappoint and although it's similar to previous model under the hood. The exterior has been redesigned to be smaller and better controller with 4K. I bought one of these as a gift for my brother as well and he's enjoying it just as much.

I bought this as a present for my friend. Video output is superb, easy to use and navigate interface. Powerful and versetile.

Nvidia shield is the fastest streaming box. It’s not cheap but it’s worth the cost. I own two of these.

I like that there is many games you can play because its android and the feel of the controller feels good in my hands. I'm able to stream games from the pc. love how compact and sleek it is. there is also the option to stream Netflix directly from the Nvidia Shield.

Really nice design - Easy setup - The functionality is awesome - Definitely I am totally blown over with the rechargeable remote. The processor is very fast and you can change settings to make it even faster. Seem to be well made from good sturdy materials

I have many streaming TV device (e.g. AppleTV, Roku, generic brands) and the NVidia is the best in performance and usability. It's essentially an Android TV device on steroids. My Sony A1E TV also has Android TV, but the processor is not powerful enough to stream 4K streams from my Plex server.

If you are not a hardcore gamer and you are looking an Android TV box with gaming features, go with the normal Shield TV (16gb). I bought the Sheild pro last week, just so that I can play more hardcore NVIDIA games rather than the android games. But, to my surprise, there were some games which were not shielded controller friendly and some had terrible video lag (for instance I tried Sniper V2, modern combat, and The Bureau).So, I contacted NVIDIA and explained them the problem, after which they told me to connect my controller to the box and then play. I mean seriously! who does that? So, if you are a hardcore gamer and are looking for Android TV box you will be disappointed by Shield Pro you should consider buying PS4 instead as you can get it at the same price from best buy. If you are looking for an Android TV with recreational gaming like me, go with the Shield TV (and not pro) and save 100 bucks!

The Nexus Remote had me throwing it at the bed whenever it didn't work, finally my boyfriend snapped and he threw it for the first time.... he broke it. LOL So about the Shield, games! Yes I enjoy the games and we will likely purchase a second controller so we can play some of the games that come with it together. Everything else that our Nexus Player did (or was supposed to do) it does great. No more getting upset cause I can't pause something or can't turn off the player, or mid-selection the remote stops working. TL;DR Shield is great for anything you use Chromecast or Nexus Player for with many added benefits. The remote, controller and console are all well designed and look sleek and not cheap.

This thing is amazing, I can play games, watch HBO, enjoy my Plex server and even install Kodi on it. I really enjoy the fact I can play my computer games thru it as well. This box is amazing!!!

Easy setup and runs smooth depending on your internet connection and wifi strength. Highly priced but plenty of storage so far, Does NOT include HDMI cable so fyi. But very pleased overall.
