I am really enjoying these
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I went to an arcade that had a VR headset coupled with a motion platform that simulated a roller coaster ride. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped at the local Best Buy afterward and checked out the Oculus. There happened to be an Oculus rep there who demoed them for us and since the price for the complete package was reasonable at $350 we (well, more I) decided to buy a pair right then. I had been wanting them for a while so the time was finally right. Have to say I'm really enjoying them. The experience is really quite impressive, especially coupled with the right games. I bought MOSS first and had a blast playing the game. It was so immersive that sometimes you have to lift your headset up just to remember the world you're seeing isn't real. I'm playing Lone Echo now which I highly recommend. You really get the feeling of space and all its vastness. Just be careful and give yourself plenty of room. I don't know how many times I thought I was facing forward and when I took the headset off I was backward. You totally lose touch with the real world and occasionally I'll smack into something if I'm not careful. Also recommend you download the free Google Earth VR some time and travel around the world in 3D. It's quite an enjoyable experience to see the world presented in VR. Anyway, I primarily bought the Oculus because of it's great support in games, and because I'm into flight simulation and wanted to see what they would be like in that world. Wow, it is a totally different experience. It's hard to go back to a flat screen now after flying around in VR. Unfortunately manipulating the virtual controls still isn't easy but it seems to be getting better all the time. Once they nail that down I can't see ever going back to a flat screen to fly again. The sense of presence is truly remarkable. The headset itself is generally comfortable to wear. It's not overbearing, just every now and again a little too much weight will press on the bridge of my nose and get a little uncomfortable. Readjustment usually takes care of that. The lenses seem to need to be cleaned regularly or smudges start to form and the images get blurry. The headset sound is great and games that support spatial sound really pull you in with sound seeming to come from every direction. The controllers are comfortable and pretty intuitive for the most part. Setup was simple and Oculus supports several games I already have so it's great to now experience them in VR without having to buy them again. The image quality isn't as sharp as I would like, which I knew going in. To my eyes, I can see the pixels which takes away from some of the sharpness and fine details. However, after a while you get used to it and it doesn't really bother me much unless I'm trying to read some fine print on something. Gameplay is very smooth on my GTX 1080Ti and i7-7700K machine. Overall, I highly recommend these, especially at the sub $350 price. I really believe much much more is going to go to VR in the future so I think it's well worth to own a pair at this price point and point in time.

Best 1st gen VR experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product overall. Comfortable and very intuitive. The bundled controllers are awesome and are a must if you want to truly experience VR. What you must understand about VR is that this is 1st Generation. The graphics won't be great and there is definitely a screen door effect. But the immersion factor is incredible. It's a start of hopefully a very good future for VR and the Oculus is leading the pack when it comes to quality and price point.

OUT OF THIS WORLD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I bought the oculus rift after I have been dying to try it for at least a year. I planned on returning it because I assumed I might get bored. But let me tell you- there is no way I will ever get bored of this!! It is absolutely amazing. The clarity is perfect- the graphics are brilliant and it is so incredibly immersive that it LITERALLY blew my mind. Only con that I have found so far is the sensors. Without a third sensor and 360 degree tracking- some games do feel restricted. However there are ways around this and this is so worth it especially after the price drop. This is the future of gaming!!!!!!!!! IT IS A MMUSSTTTT BUY!

The future of gaming is VR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely the next generation of gaming. The immersion is unmatched and creates a sense of becoming a part of the environment. The price point is finally beginning to be affordable. With the new Oculos 2.0 environment the interactive work space provides an interface that makes choosing a game a true enjoyable experience. My only con is that the headset is very uncomfortable when wearing glasses and should have been designed with a focus ring to allow adjustments for people with prescription glasses. The Samsung gear VR has this feature and costs much less. However, the quality of the image greatly exceeds the Gear VR. This is a must buy and can't wait to see what the next version looks like and is a great beginning to a true VR Experience

The one to buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was wondering why this one is the most popular one, and after using it for a week, it makes sense. The setup, the applications, and the audio visual quality is amazing. You just need to make sure your system can handle the unit and sensors. 3 USB 3.0 and a CPU/GPU combo that can drive the visuals. Played Start Trek Bridge Crew and a Horror game and wow. It's so emersive!

Better than expected!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit as a holiday gift for the family, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the VR experience is today. I have previously tried a few iterations of VR headset, including the Samsung and Google units that use your phone , and these are okay - but the Rift is in a different league. The headset and the controllers (Oculus Touch) track in real time, without any lag, and make serious gaming possible and fun. The immersion level is amazing, even on older games like Skyrim. One word of advice - I did not realize that the headset is not good for the eyes of young children (less than 13). If you are purchasing buying for a young child, do some research and understand you will want to give that child very limited use of the headset so as not to damage their eyes!

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You really do feel transported into new environments and worlds when using the Rift VR. There are a variety of games to select from...many to try for free. I appreciate being able to sort games via comfort level allowing hubby and I to find games we both like to play. Hubby can play and enjoy them all, whereas, I can get a bit motion sick. Our favorite at this time is Audioshield and Slingshot (part of the Lab). Both hubby and I also like how interactive the games are...you can break a sweat in some. Cons are few and we have found work arounds... Con 1...it took a bit of research to find how to play sound on both headgear and tv at same time. You do not need to download any additional apps, just need to find the correct toggles in Windows audio setup. Con 2...sharing the headgear after breaking a sweat is icky. We solved this by each wearing our own sweatbands. Overall... LOVE IT. It's only been about a month and we can't wait to try many more games on the Rift VR and expanding our library.

A Game Changer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing PC games since 1983, I actually typed in the code! Take it from me, the Oculus is as revolutionary as anything since the Apple II. Plus, Facebook has plans to integrate the system into its social network. The future is virtual and at $400, early adoption is calling.

Pretty amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Totally changes games and other experiences. Instead of just playing a game you are there. Oculus is a must have now with the price drop on the bundle (and a few great games free) if you are interested at all in crazy new immersive experiences.

An experience to try
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparison how far VR has come even to the pre-release unit I owned is amazing. This is fantastic, course far from perfect. The fact that the hand controls are released now really helps out considerably when playing games. The immersion with touch controls is wonderful. Started on an old R9 290 GPU and upgraded to a 1080TI. While most games I can enjoy higher settings the biggest thing that makes a difference is getting the super sampling up to 1.5+ in most things, even a full 2. This increases the resolution and makes text in game much easier to read and things look clearer. There is a few things that are annoying. The tracking stands, if you move them it messes up your tracking unless you re-setup the space. Also with them make sure you have a good space to place them and potentially enough USB cable length because you'll need it. Also sadly while its still new and they are just starting to really release anything like it, but wireless headset. Its annoying being wired but... its not horrible to work with it. Unless you have 2 sensors setup really good in or a 3rd sensor doing a full 360 in-games is most likely not going to happen. The jump back into 3D has renewed my interest in PC games. Even some of them can give decent work outs!

The Oasis is one step closer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The standard of vr is also one of the most affordable and solid experiences out there. Careful though, due to reducing costs the plastic lenses can get scratched if used with glasses and can get foggy or blurry at times. My first headset was super clear and then got a blur that wouldn't go away so i replaced it with best buys amazing return policy and got a new one. My second one seems to have a little bit of a veil effect on the lenses during some dark pitch black screens other than that a bit of shimmer or glare is noticeable compared to my first headset although maybe I'm too conscious of it's lenses now that my first lenses had a horrible blur that i would focus my eyes on too much and I'm noticing things that i didn't before. Once you're immersed and can ignore all of that it's an amazing and immersive experience but don't expect it too look as sharp as real life or as it would on your tv or monitor. One thing to note is that you'll need a beefy computer to have the best experience so it's hard to recommend to others.

Very Cool. Real visual sensations!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is amazing to play games and feel like you are there. I usually prefer hardcore games, but the interactive first person shooters are very cool with Oculus. I am using it in a 5x7 foot area. The bigger the area the better, just so you don't bump into things, but there is a safety feature you can set up to make sure you won't hit stuff while in the headset.

Incredible VR experience for flight sim
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use with X-plane 11 and FlyInside software. I can honestly say that the VR experience was incredible. It puts you right in the cockpit of any airplane you fly. Totally different than the VR headsets you put your smartphone into. I'm usually not too impressed with gadgets like this but was blown away once I experienced it first hand. Totally immersive from the home screen to the game play.

Amazing once you get it working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing vr experience once you get it set up. Had to exchange my first one due to dead pixels and had some issues setting it up oculos support isn't very helpful. But once it was set up it is amazing and very immersive. The controllers are much more intuitive then the vive.

Great vr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought oculus then preorder samsung oddysey after watching many reviews on YouTube i tested both and i end up staying with oculus, better controllers with no loss of sight as compare to samsung, oculus was more immersive my eyes gets more tired and motion sickness with samsung cause of contrast and oculus games just plays much better with oculus rift i tested robo recall and others i only need it the two sensors for oculus to work 360° one on front one on back hanging on wall easy to doit if you use little imagination, for me oculus is a better quality device

Most fun I've had in years gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Totally immersive and a great experience so far. Setup took about 30 min start to finish. Beat saber is a must have title on Oculus Rift. Now you can play video games and actually exercise. So many things to do with Oculus , like watch a movie in a virtual theater in VR. No room for a large flat panel TV? No prob..watch in VR. I haven't been this pumped for a gaming device in a long time.
