Best VR experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried it in store and I bought it right away! Now that it's more affordable, I highly recommend it for a great VR experience! Comes with 2 sensors, 2 controllers and the headset. So make sure you have at least 3 USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI out on your PC. It was a challenge getting the sound from my laptop out to an external speaker butwas able to do so by buying a separate device and did some tweaking in the oculus software. My kids love them and laughe played for hours! Great thing to have if you're a gamer.

Best choice for PC-based VR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're interested in experiencing PC games in VR, there are basically two choices: Oculus Rift Touch and HTC Vive. Rift Touch is cheaper than Vive, has glass lenses instead of fresnel lenses (sharper image), includes earphones in the headset, and is easier to set up (sensors can be placed on desktop and only require USB ports), and has far far superior controllers. Rift disadvantages compared to Vive: while you get room scale VR out of the box, when you're facing away from the two sensors, your body can obscure the controllers. For Vive-equivalent room scale, you need to buy a third sensor ($59) and place it behind you facing one of the front sensors. There's no breakout box to connect the headset to, which means the HDMI and USB cable connections coming from the headset have to be connected directly to the back of your PC. The headset and the two sensors require a total of three USB 3.0 ports. If you buy a third sensor, that needs a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, so make sure you have four ports available. Oculus has its own game store, and it has games that are exclusive that are not available on Steam. I'm not interested in being locked into a specific VR platform when things will likely change in the future. As to the quality of the VR experience using Oculus, it is the best you can get for 2017, barring the new Samsung Windows Mixed Reality headset. I've had no trouble with the headset and software, and the tracking works well if you are careful to stay in the play area you have defined. I'm using a Ryzen 5 1600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1070 and can run all games at max settings so far. Highly recommended!

Best entertainment investment!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even the packaging is beautiful. The level of attention to detail Oculus shows at all levels is excellent. Everything from the cords to the device itself are high quality. Setup is easy. Even the sensor setup is easy once you follow the visual directions. The graphics are stunning, and the experience is unparalleled - enhanced most of all by the Touch controllers. Whether flying in zero-gravity or waging magical duels you will lose yourself in the game and the experience. 100% recommend for all gamers both serious and casual. Recommend: You can play in a 5x5 space, but I recommend minimum 8x8 area in your home, preferably with a high enough ceiling you can't reach it while standing. Invest in a 6x6 padded foam mat so you can stand for a couple hours without shoes.

I am really enjoying these
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I went to an arcade that had a VR headset coupled with a motion platform that simulated a roller coaster ride. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped at the local Best Buy afterward and checked out the Oculus. There happened to be an Oculus rep there who demoed them for us and since the price for the complete package was reasonable at $350 we (well, more I) decided to buy a pair right then. I had been wanting them for a while so the time was finally right. Have to say I'm really enjoying them. The experience is really quite impressive, especially coupled with the right games. I bought MOSS first and had a blast playing the game. It was so immersive that sometimes you have to lift your headset up just to remember the world you're seeing isn't real. I'm playing Lone Echo now which I highly recommend. You really get the feeling of space and all its vastness. Just be careful and give yourself plenty of room. I don't know how many times I thought I was facing forward and when I took the headset off I was backward. You totally lose touch with the real world and occasionally I'll smack into something if I'm not careful. Also recommend you download the free Google Earth VR some time and travel around the world in 3D. It's quite an enjoyable experience to see the world presented in VR. Anyway, I primarily bought the Oculus because of it's great support in games, and because I'm into flight simulation and wanted to see what they would be like in that world. Wow, it is a totally different experience. It's hard to go back to a flat screen now after flying around in VR. Unfortunately manipulating the virtual controls still isn't easy but it seems to be getting better all the time. Once they nail that down I can't see ever going back to a flat screen to fly again. The sense of presence is truly remarkable. The headset itself is generally comfortable to wear. It's not overbearing, just every now and again a little too much weight will press on the bridge of my nose and get a little uncomfortable. Readjustment usually takes care of that. The lenses seem to need to be cleaned regularly or smudges start to form and the images get blurry. The headset sound is great and games that support spatial sound really pull you in with sound seeming to come from every direction. The controllers are comfortable and pretty intuitive for the most part. Setup was simple and Oculus supports several games I already have so it's great to now experience them in VR without having to buy them again. The image quality isn't as sharp as I would like, which I knew going in. To my eyes, I can see the pixels which takes away from some of the sharpness and fine details. However, after a while you get used to it and it doesn't really bother me much unless I'm trying to read some fine print on something. Gameplay is very smooth on my GTX 1080Ti and i7-7700K machine. Overall, I highly recommend these, especially at the sub $350 price. I really believe much much more is going to go to VR in the future so I think it's well worth to own a pair at this price point and point in time.

Great product, great quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lets start with overall experience. When first opening you will find everything is nicely packed and all parts are of good quality. Although I have found setup to be pretty simple following the instructions and online setup I can see some people having trouble. What can be hard to figure out is re-calibrating sensors can be confusing. you have to enter device settings and click on the sensors to do a re-calibration. Make sure you have plenty of room! I can not stress this enough, if you don't have enough room to use this properly things will seem glitchy even though they are not. Device works with Steam VR but not as well as native Oculus apps. A lot of people get sick when using VR so make sure you test this in the store before going all out on a VR setup. I found the entire experience of the Oculus to be fantastic when setup properly with the correct amount of room. Be careful what apps you buy for it as a lot of them are more like short demos then full experiences. The feeling of presence and actually being in the VR world is great.

VR is here
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think I can sum this up enough to get how awesome these are in this short review. I really suggest that if you're interested in some VR goggles to setup an appointment with BB for a demo. Once you do and if you were really in the market for VR goggles you'll be making the purchase. Once I figured out how to navigate the application this has been nothing but awesome. From movies to video games you get an experience like no other. One thing I wish for was the ability to browse the internet and stream from there. There are apps that allow you to use this as your computer monitor and theoretically should allow you to browse but it is not the case or it's above my technical abilities. This is still a very new tech and lots of new companies joining the development. Looking forward to the future of VR.

Too much fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about VR. I bought the rift on sale but would have paid full price. It doesn’t need as much room as the Vive which was perfect for me. It was super simple to get up and running. The games that came with it are fun. However after seeing how much fun they were I got to where I wanted to try more. The Oculus just happened to have bundle game deals so I bough several games. I will say the Rift is also great for other apps. They just released rift 2.0 and it’s great. From the virtual desktop to watching movies to drawing in 3D. I will say I had to limit my time to get my senses used to VR. I am glad I finally stepped into VR!

Looks awesome... Computer not compatible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son asked for this for Christmas last year, but it was still too expensive. The price came down to $399 for Oculus Rift Touch this year, so I figured, what the heck, especially with the software update that's coming out now (Oculus Dash... YouTube it), and the Windows Creator update that just rolled out that's all about 3D and mixed reality... Anyway, I bought my son a $900 HP Envy x360 for Christmas last year, and I assumed that a $900 computer should be able to run Oculus. Not true. You need a discrete graphics card (at least a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but preferably a GTX 1060... Big difference between the two, get the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5)... Intel HD anything won't work because integrated graphics cards aren't powerful enough. You also need an HDMI port and at least 3 USB ports. In short, to get that combination you have to have at least a mid-range gaming laptop ($1200 ish). Regular laptops don't offer that combination, even the high end ones. Desktops that meet the specs aren't much cheaper. Furthermore, you can't get a touchscreen that meets those specs for less than $2,300, and if you want a 2 in 1 touchscreen that meets the specs, you mod-as-well forget it. Long story short, I thought I was buying a $400 gaming system, but with the $1300 computer I'm buying to be able to use it, it's actually a $1700 gaming system... Make sure you check your computer specs before you buys this, and be prepared to give up touchscreen and 2 in 1 for Oculus... That said, Oculus Dash looks awesome, and I can't wait to try it out, when the new computer arrives.

Best VR Experience Available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Earlier this year I purchased an HTC Vive....pain to setup, the Fresnel Lenses made it where only the center was in focus plus the Vive gave me horrible vertigo. Decided to try the Oculus Rift....EASY Setup....EASY Interface to work with. The head set fits well and is lightweight while still very sturdy. Field of view is VERY clear all the way around. Lots of free games that are really good. MUCH BETTER VR Experience! If you want to use a flight simulator, get FLYINSIDE FX plug in....makes flight sim very very life like.

We have had so much fun with this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've not even bought anything to go with it, yet, just the system requirements and the games and such that are included. We're getting used to it, but the fun of that has been lasting on the entire family! The price was amazing and we can't wait to try it on more advanced games. I wear glasses and it's uncomfortable for me, so there is that one drawback. However, I went into the purchase knowing that might be a problem.

Better than expected!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit as a holiday gift for the family, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the VR experience is today. I have previously tried a few iterations of VR headset, including the Samsung and Google units that use your phone , and these are okay - but the Rift is in a different league. The headset and the controllers (Oculus Touch) track in real time, without any lag, and make serious gaming possible and fun. The immersion level is amazing, even on older games like Skyrim. One word of advice - I did not realize that the headset is not good for the eyes of young children (less than 13). If you are purchasing buying for a young child, do some research and understand you will want to give that child very limited use of the headset so as not to damage their eyes!

An experience like no other
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Occulus is a truly amazing piece of technology. VR is a whole new way to experience games and other media. It actually blows any TV screen out of the water. However, it does take some getting used to and some games give me motion sickness. Overall, it is well worth the money to experience a whole new dimension of gaming.

Best thing I've bought in a long time.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to buy a VR headset. But when the price was $399 I couldn't pass it up. This thing is amazing! It has brought me back to an avid gamer again. Hours of fun. And my wife who doesn't game loves it. Sometimes she hogs it to herself. Best purchase I've made in years.

The future is here..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've had my eye on the oculus for a free years now. I was waiting for the price to come down, and I was able to pick one up for 350. The setup wasn't too bad. Once I downloaded and installed a few things to try... I was blown away, so cool. You really feel like you are inside the game. Worth the wait!

The best PC VR solution for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus Rift is the best way to get into VR on the PC. The price has come down to reasonable levels and the set includes the touch controllers and 5 games. Robo Recall on it's own justifies the package, in my opinion. Full scale PC VR is something you have to experience. The tutorial you go though when you first set up the Rift was one of the most amazing gaming experiences I have ever had. You need a decent bit of space to set up the sensors if you want to play room-scale games, so keep that in mind. You can get by pretty well with the two included sensors, but adding a third will make the experience better.

Price Point finally getting reasonable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this during Black Friday Sale. Also added the third sensor required for full 360. I had been researching Oculus Rift vs. HTC Vive for a couple of weeks. I was sort of leaning toward Vive but with the Black Friday sale of $350 that tipped the scales to Oculus. In fact I bought 2 so we can play multiplayer. This is the first generation of serious VR headsets. Forget the cheesy cell phone, e.g., Google Cardboard stuff, this is on an entirely different level. Hopefully with pricing coming down VR will finally explode! I pretty much grew tired of traditional gaming because quite frankly it has become old and repetitive for my tastes. VR however has rekindled the gamer in me. This is awesome stuff and has a bright future ahead in my opinion. It will be interesting what the next generation of VR will bring to the table! Highly recommended!

Excellent for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a heavy gamer and this was surprisingly good for the price. I think HTC vive still has its strong points, but honestly, you won't be doing VR a lot, and if you get a HTC vive you'll start regretting it. This is good overall for gaming, videos, and other...activities

VR expert review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The VR setup includes all things needed for VR setup for room scale basic. Will need another sensor for room scale VR. Very easy to setup but you must go to oculus rift and test your system before purchase (there is a downloaded tester). Need 3 USB 3.1 ports and HDMI and a separate video port. Good graphics card a must Unbelievable VR experience. Plenty of free demo content with great educational (anatomy), and gaming software (Elite Dangerous- Space game, and others). Best price for all inclusive headset
