I exchanged another Onkyo unit to the TX-R60 9.2 NETWORK A/V RECEVER. Has several setup variables, and one needs spend time with both the directions and playing with the unit. It is challenging to set up blue tooth with Alexia app and Sony TV. I have enjoyed listening through my Infinity Overture II bi-amped speakers.

Longtime Onkyo user, had a TX-NR609 years ago that developed an issue where sound would drop out from channels. Onkyo let me send it back and exchange it for a TX-NR646. I’ve been using that for about 6 years with no issues. Bought this to upgrade to allow for better 4k features as well as to future proof for a long time. Basic setup was a breeze. Have not used DIRAC yet. Without changing anything else in my setup, sound quality noticeably improved. I have a 7 channel setup with Polk S60 towers, S15 surrounds, and an Emotiva C2+ center. This receiver easily drives all speakers much better than the old one. WiFi connectivity works great. If you’re looking for a high end feature packed receiver for under $2k, this is a great option.

I was not disappointed. All specs were excellent. The user interface was a great improvement over the Denon, Onkyo and Yamaha receivers I have used recently. Tip: when moving from 2 to 4 height speakers the connection of back surround will change. The sound quality left nothing else to be desired, excellent. The preamp outs for all channels added flexibility for experimenting with external homemade speakers, equalizers and analog amps. Loved the DIRAC calibration which used the computing power of a cellphone. I will mention one other unique issue I had. I was using 2 passive subwoofers with my choice of full range stereo amps. I needed to add external equalizer as during some music environments I could hear noise (digital?). A regular powered subwoofer would not have this issue, low pass filter and bass boost is built in.

I purchased the AV on 09/22 and have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, the sound quality is great, and the UI is easy to navigate and understand. Setting it up was a breeze as well. However, there are some frustrating issues that I have encountered.
Firstly, the Dirac feature can be complicated if you're not familiar with it. It took some time to figure out how to properly utilize it. Additionally, while the AV boasts a lot of inputs, I've experienced frequent disconnections, with the units disconnecting about half of the time. Changing inputs also seems to be a hassle, as the system tends to revert back to the previous input instead of staying on the selected input.
Furthermore, I've experienced unexpected occurrences where the sound and image suddenly cut out without any apparent reason. But the most frustrating issue is that the system randomly shuts off, which is highly inconvenient and disruptive to my listening experience.
Overall, while the AV has some strong points such as great sound and an easy-to-use UI, the frequent disconnections, input switching problems, sudden sound and image issues, and random system shut-offs have been significant downsides. It has been disappointing to encounter these issues with a product that I had high expectations for. I hope the manufacturer can address these problems in future updates to improve the overall performance and reliability of the AV.

IMO, great receiver for what it is, this is a step up from my other one. The Onkyo is still new to me, haven’t gone through all the features yet, but I plan on it. I have it setup for 5.1 right now, plan on going 7.2. The one draw back for this one is, with 2 subs they will not be independent of each other, the RZ70 has that feature. I’m running klipsch speaker with this system and still getting them dialed i, but for the most part as of now, I have nothing to complain about with this receiver,

Purchased this to replace a 20 year old Onkyo receiver that still worked really well. This unit is a rocketship. Easy to set up. Dirac set up was easy, but took multiple times as kept getting "speaker mismatch detected error", but it eventually worked. The system sounds great -worth every dollar so far,

2 extra stars given for potential. The Onkyo TX-RZ50 is incredibly feature rich and a screaming value......if you're lucky enough to have a functioning unit.
I finally built my 5.1.4 home theater system and my installer set everything up properly. I immediately noticed the GUI for the receiver flickers on my screen and experienced HDMI dropouts (LG G2 tv) but those seemed to settle once I launched a movie or show. Worse yet, while the test tones play from all 9 speakers and sub, the RZ50 simply will not output Dolby Atmos or DTS:X. I cannot get Atmos tracks to play with my Apple TV 4K or my Panasonic 820K (which is properly set to output Bitstream audio) and have to use the Dolby Digital tracks to get any audio. My installer couldn't figure it out, nor could anyone else I know with home theater experience. Thankfully (or so I thought), I had purchased Geek Squad protection for the Onkyo so I dropped it off at my local Best Buy for repair and was told it had to be shipped to a service center. I immediately got a notification that the device had been shipped to the local service center (which is less than 60 miles from where I live). It has now been 10 days that I am without my receiver and have received exactly zero updates on the status of my repair. I understand receivers are complex and the repair may take some time but having to send away your expensive item without any updates or estimated timeline is frustrating and not very confidence inspiring.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed in my experience with the Onkyo RZ50 and so far less than satisfied with the service I paid for.
I will update my review if I get it back in full working condition, as well as update my experience with Geek Squad.

I purchased this to replace an 9-10 year old Onkyo. It was still performing just fine, but it was aged. This is such a massive upgrade over my old receiver. The 4k is clearer & a sharper picture and the surround is great. The Dirac Live set up was a bit finicky to figure out, but was well worth the effort as the surround is so much improved over my old one. I highly recommend the TX-RZ50.

Bought to replace a Denon 3700 which had lost some hdmi ports. Remote is is a little easier to use. Sound quality is on par. Don’t like the clicking noise when switching inputs.

I purchased the TX-RZ50 to take the place of an older receiver. The TX-RZ50 has updated circuitry to handle both 4K and even 8K signals. The layout is great and operation is easier and more logical than my older unit. And the most important thing is that it sounds great.

The Onkyo TX-RZ50 is likely one of the best values for your money in high-end receivers, offering the power of separates without the cost. It effortlessly drives my dual 8" Klipsch towers, and with multiple audio formats, you can tailor your listening experience to your preference. Additionally, the Dirac software performs exceptionally well. It never fails to bring a smile to my face each time I power it on.

Finally, an AVR that has more than one 2.1 hdmi input’s. This particular AVR has three hdmi inputs that support 4K @ 120fps. I have two PS5 and two Xbox Series X. Since there is technically only two sources on the market that support 2.1. If you have both consoles and a TV that also supports 2.1 hdmi. This AVR is for you. I absolutely love this AVR. The dirac live is awesome. Way better than Denon’s room EQ. I have not had any complaints or issues with this receiver.

I like it!!! It's got a lot of power and very easy to make changes to settings. My old pioneer receiver, you had to plug the microphone in and then look through almost everything to find what u wanted. This one has 1 button.

Sold my Marantz SR-6015 and purchased the Onkyo RZ-50. Greatest move I’ve made the separation and clarity of the Onkyo is amazing. Great affordable receiver.

Excellent service with Best Buy. The store sales person was very helpful when purchasing this product. He knew the products and understood what we were looking for. He went out of his way to make sure everything is what we wanted. He got the product to us as soon as possible. Overall very easy to do business with Best Buy. Will return for future purchases.

It’s pretty solid receiver. I purchased this for DIRAC feature and it does not disappoint. It does take time to set up first time but after that it sounds so much better.

love this receiver, but i would like the soft ware Dirac live was more user friendly, i am not sure what i am suppose to be doing with this extra feature and there is no one from Dirac to help
