Really a nice little receiver for home audio. Not gonna take the foundation but that's what amps are for. Bought it open box for $150 and it looked brand new to me. Just missing the little microphone to roon test the receiver that should have been in the box but no big deal.

The Onkyo TX-SR494 boasts a sleek and modern design with a robust build quality that feels solid and durable. Its black finish gives it a sophisticated look that fits seamlessly into most home entertainment setups. The front panel is intuitive, featuring well-organized buttons and a clear display, making it easy to navigate and control.

It sounded great but has stopped turning on and onkyo told me to call best buy and best buy told me to call onkyo for repair. Sooo $500 3 months in became trash. What a world.

Excellent entry level receiver with Dolby Atmos. Works great with 5.1.2 setup with no issues. Only confusing thing is the firmware update. Onkyo website shows that there is a newer version available but the update didn't install so ended up calling Onkyo support and they confirmed that this is mistake on their website and my receiver already has the latest firmware.

Easy to setup, sound quality is very good, tone controls help to fine tune the treble, bass and vocal. Overall very pleased with this receiver. Great option if you’re not looking for all the bells and whistles

very simply to setup and use, excellent upgrade to my previous Pioneer 5.1 system. I can totally hear the height speakers for a more immersive listening experience.

I bought this item on sale and I have owned another in the past will great results. I have a 3.1 setup with a mix of speakers from Infinity towers to a Jamo center channel and an over hauled Klipsch Subwoofer{new plate amp} It sounds amazing for movies, sports and music, I like quality over quantity and this does very well. Delivers the sound you want very cleanly IMO.

The receiver works well and easy to setup. It guides you through with ease after adding your speakers to the receiver. A lot of options and ability to split speakers in zones.
