    Excellent professional installation. Everything set up very nice. Cleaned up. Set up to tech specs and demonstrated how to use the projector. Beautiful job and would use the this service again. Moved position of bracket to center in room and touched up holes with spackle - I only needed to touch up paint with que tip.

    Inexperienced installers. They did many holes in my ceiling, yet they couldn’t install properly. HDMI cable hanging around. They did not able to calibrate projection on my screen. They have a very big process to raise a complaint. They left my media room half done. Very disappointing.

    Projector not mounted properly, it is hanging like a pendulum because of faulty installation. Not aligned to the projector screen properly. Two different people installed it and could not complete perfectly.

    Hello, As promised, here are the pictures of the Theater room and how things were left after being here for 8 hours. Sashauna Green came back the next week and picked up the trash that was left after I asked her to look at the room. She can attest to the way the room looked. I will also send a video.     Best Buy asks for a review of each individual component installation, but they don't have an option for the entire system installation, so I'm picking one arbitrarily. My wife and I moved into a new home, bringing our 2012 1080P 7.1 home theater system from our previous home in another state. We upgraded to 4K 7.1.4 Dolby ATMOS. The quote for the Custom team to install the ideal configuration was way out of our budget, but the sales rep said that the Geek Squad could do something similar for a third of the price. They charge a fixed amount for each piece of the installation (projector mount, cable run, speaker-pair mounting, etc.). Although it wasn't an ideal configuration as per Dolby ATMOS specifications, it's still better than anything we'd ever dreamed we'd have. The installation team was friendly and professional, and they did a great job. One thing didn't work, and the team lead admitted he'd neglected to do something but had forgotten to tell us, and he came back the next day and fixed it. My wife and I were impressed by his honesty that the problem was his fault. And here's the one disappointment I have: My wife and I lived in an apartment for a year while our new home was being built. We couldn't install our projector in the apartment, so we bought a "temporary" 82" flat-screen TV for a discount price. We liked it so much that we decided to have it mounted on the wall of our new house for casual viewing, and have our 120" motorized projector screen come down in front of it for watching "big" movies. Unfortunately when we tried to watch 3D movies with our 3D Panasonic Blu-ray player and 3D Epson projector, we got an error saying that 3D wasn't supported. I had a theory as to why it wasn't working. I contacted our sales rep and the installation-team lead. They responded, more than once, saying that it couldn't be done, that 3D is an obsolete format, and that the makers of 3D equipment no longer supported 3D with their firmware updates. I didn't buy that: why would they sell 3D components if they didn't support them? I finally figured out the problem and solution, and I let the sales rep and the installation-team lead know, in case they experienced the same problem with other clients. The sales rep said he's pass the information on, but the team lead never responded or thanked me. I get that the team was paid a fixed price to do a job. We had a complicated installation, and they went above and beyond. I didn't expect them to come back and troubleshoot my particular problem for free, but for the team lead, who has been installing systems for over 20 years, to tell me that 3D was impossible with our particular setup, defied belief for me. And even if he hadn't encountered this situation before, at least he should have acknowledged me and thanked me for telling him something he didn't know -- or, more bluntly, say that he'd have to charge me more to troubleshoot. I have an engineering background, and my concern is that people who aren't technical will just accept "It can't be done" when it certainly can. I hope this is a lesson for them. On a side note, my 90-year-old dad, who lives in another state and who has cognitive issues, works with his local Geek Squad team when he has computer problems. They contact me when they need clarification on what his problems are. My contact there says he deals with other elderly people with cognitive issues. I'm impressed by his kindness and concern (my Dad is always nice to them). And I've been buying from Best Buy for decades, so I highly recommend them.

    Tricky Projector Installation

    The Geek Squad was fantastic. Not only did they assist with mounting and installation but they really worked hard to solve an HDMI issue, which was run up in the ceiling. The old HDMI was stuck but Josh, who refused to quit on the problem, accessed the HDMI through an overhead light cam. His partner also helped me with a replacement cord on a second television. These guys went above and beyond and assured that I would call the Geek squad again when needed!

    These are not real theatre installers. They are basic knowledge, if you need real things like an actual line up with your screen and projector, do not hire these guys. They show up unprepared and late to do a job that would take a few hours. They have a lack of communication with the store and their manager. They take no consideration of family’s or their schedules. I could go on and on. No protection when handling projector screen, no protection on your floors. It’s horrible

    I had an outstanding experience with the team from Best Buy West Omaha who installed my JVC DLA-NZ500 projector! From start to finish, their professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail were second to none. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and ensured that the installation was flawless.     I was so impressed with Geek Squad. These guys did a great job. They respected my home (wore booties in the house), respected me, my time, and best of all they were super-knowledgable. I was amazed at how much they knew. I loved the experience, and although I am a do-it-yourselfer, I will hire Geek Squad more often from now on. These are great guys. They even found a way to mount a screen in an almost impossible position.

    Install was delayed

    Original install date was delayed by 2 weeks due to Best Buy changing the servicing scheduler software. Next install date was delayed by mounting bracket missing a key part (not the fault of the installer. Then had to wait 2 more weeks for the actual install so I went with another installer. I received a decent compensation credit in the form of a Best Buy gift card that made up for the delay.

    We needed new protector installed in our media room. Tory and Jason conducted a meticulous site visit inspected area existing speakers, receiver, wiring and mount. They determined we needed new receiver to support the 4k laser projector. They suggested purchasing new HDMI just incase it was needed. We had already purchased the projector so Tory spent extra time assessing throw distance vs existing mount. He determined exact mount needed and a new hole would be needed (the existing spot couldn’t be used) because of the shorter throw distance on new projector to ceiling outlet. When they came to install they were very neat, setup blankets and kept their work areas clean entire time. Tory’s attention to detail, he determined we could keep the existing HDMI and reran the HDMI to new hole to projector. It was incredible he was able to mount the projector close enough to outlet that you don’t notice the cable to outlet at all. He also put ceiling cover over the prior spot. Everything looks amazing. Jason installed receiver and checked all sound and determined we needed fuse for subwoofer. They made sure projector and system were working perfectly, vacuumed and cleaned up area before leaving. I would highly recommend them what a great team. Their attention to detail is amazing doing everything to make sure we were happy especially that spot for the mount. Side Note: Tory mounted our 55 inch TV in bedroom in spring and did a fantastic job as well he simply had an eye for detail and wanted everything perfect. When he arrived to install projector we knew we were in good hands.

    The guys that came were on time, early actually and got to work quickly. The mount I bought from another vendor which took them a few to get up to speed on, but they got it mounted. Only issue is after they left I went and checked their work and notice a set screw wasn't fully tightened down so I went to tighten it and the hex head was rounded along with the hole it screw in to was cross threaded! So, now I have to re-thread it. Also, the four screws that secure the projector to the mount were also not fully secure. Make sure you check the work done when having anyone do an install, not just Geek Squad.

    This was a difficult installation due to some initial projector failures but the Geek Squad stuck with it and got everything working great. The laser 4K projector picture is very impressive.

    The 2 guys & 1 girl did an amazing job dealing with my old projector!! Because it was so old, removing it from the ceiling was not easy, but, each one of them took turns holding it up & working at it. They put their heads togther to figure out how to mount my new projector onto my old mount, & they did it!! Fantastic. Super nice trio....very knowledgeable & professional!!!

    Geek Squad replaced 4yr old Sony 285 projector with a new Sony VPL XW6000ES projector. The setup was excellent, the alignment and focus are perfect for my 115" screen. This unit works beautifully with my Panasonic 9000 DVD player, Dish network receiver and a Firestick. Everything was matched up and now easy to use. I could not have done this setup without Geek Squad.
