This headset is just decent. The mic on it is amazing though. I felt like the game audio isn't very precise at all. Music sounded pretty good on it. I'm sure you can EQ this to work for you but the out of the box experience isn't great, especially for gaming.

Bought for my husband and he's still getting used to them. They seem much sturdier than cheaper models that have ear padding that sloughs off and breakable parts. They look good and we like Razer brand.

I already own a Blackshark V2 X Gaming wired headset that I used stricly for gaming on a PC but I finally took it to work for its great noise cancelling, sound quality, microphone and comfort so I can wear for extended Teams calls. Everybody envys me since they all have generic headsets that corrporate purchased with our work laptops.
Although hyped as a XBox headset it does boast compatibility with the XBox Series X/S, XBox One, Playstation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, any mobile device or PC with Bluetooth capability. I don't currently have a Switch but I was able to pair with a couple of other handheld gaming units (Steamdeck, Ally, Legion Go).
In the box is the headset, mic boom, Hyperspeed wireless dongle (XBox/PC switchable), USB-C female to USB-A male adapter cable and a USB-C male to USB-A male charging cable. I think packaging could have been a bit better because I almost tossed the wireless dongle while disposing of the box as it was in a small recess in the foam packing. It would have been better if all of the accessories would have been packaged together. This does not detract in any way the performance of the headset, just take precaution while unboxing so you don't miss anything. Of course you get a couple of the Razer decals. The included instruction manual is in multiple languages and in really fine print. My eyes aren't what they used to be so I ended up downloading the PDF on my computer from the Razer support page and zoomed up on my desktop.
Out of the box I was able to pair with my iOS and Android devices without issue. It was easy to get it into Bluetooth pairing mode by holding down the power button a few seconds until you get the pairing audio message and the flashing blue light on the headset. The XBox version does not have an app. The Razer audio app for iOS is only compatible with the Blackshark V2 Pro for Playstation unfortunately. However, there is a Razer audio for XBox app a Windows PC in the Windows Store that you can download but you will need to use the Hyperspeed wireless dongle switched to PC (I installed but unstalled quickly as it's extremely limited and controller based controls) or simply just pair as a Bluetooth headset. The volume control knob on the headset is a welcome method rather than buttons or scroll wheels. The Blackshark does have a smartswitch/EQ button (smartswitch to go from Bluetooth to dongle mode) on the right earcup and on the left is the power/pairing button, mic mute button, volume knob, USB-C charging port and the microphone boom. Double tapping the power button will switch from headset volume control knob to microphone input volume. Everything is well layed out and easy to reach controls even while wearing the headset. The headset is supposed to get up to 70 hours of battery life but no way I'll be testing that feature. I'll plug it in every so often to keep the charge topped off.
On to the XBox. I hate wired headsets for consoles so the Blackshark wireless is a welcome weapon in my gaming arsenal. Plugging the Hyperspeed wireless dongle into the provided USB-C female to USB-A male cable and then plugging the cable into an open USB-A port on my XBox Series S I went into settings and added a device. Pairing was extremely easy and I was up and running in no time. If I had something to complain about is the Blackshark shows up on the XBox as a generic headset.
The earcup and head padding is soft and comfortable. The pressure of the stiff wire earcup supports is just enough to hold the headset firmly on your head without slipping. The sliding adjustment of the earcups makes adjustment to your head really easy and it dodn't take long for me to fine tune the adjustment for maximum comfort.
The sound quality is fantastic. Crisp, clear, and no distortion. Holding down the Smartswitch/EQ button for 3 seconds will toggle back and forth between ESport or standard EQ settings. Once in the ESport EQ mode a quick press will switch between a few games or if you are in standard EQ mode a quick press will switch between a flat EQ, music, movie, game or custom. Really nice to be able to switch on the fly without going into an app. I fired up Madden on my XBox Series S and played for a couple of hours.
At $200 it is on the upper end of gaming headset pricing. Sure there are cheaper ones available but there are also more expensive ones. If you love Razer and love feature packed products then this headset is something that you should take a serious look at while deciding which headset to get.
Two thumbs up for me!!!

For a long time, I have been using different headset/headphone solutions for different tasks - wired headsets for my Teams and Zoom meetings, a Xbox-specific wireless headset for my Xbox, and a multitude of wired headsets for my PC, and not to include the true-wireless earbuds and IEMs I have lying around. And the experience has been more or less, for the best good, but for the worst inconsistent. Not only I had to deal with different ways to connect, the comfort, sound quality, adjustability, features were all over the place - not to mention there’s no way to keep track of the button combos that needed to be remembered. And after jumping through lots of hoops, I actually went back to wired headphones since I found a few pairs that are very comfortable and offered superior sound quality. But even then, working with wired headphones is not very convenient, especially when console and smartphone are in the mix. So when I got my hands on the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro for Xbox, I was already sold when I saw the connectivity list, for this is one of the few headsets out there which offer to support Xbox, PS5, PC, smartphone wirelessly, and does this duel-wielding style - via dedicated 2.4 GHz wireless as well as Bluetooth. For the last few weeks this headset has taken over all the functions I use a headphone for - gaming, online meetings, music and podcast listening, video calls with friends and family - the whole lot. Here’s a summary of what I observed so far:
Pros:
Repeating myself here: this headset is a beast when connectivity comes into play. It supports 2.4 GHz low latency wireless connectivity via a USB-C dongle (which Razer markets as Hyperspeed wireless). With the toggle of a switch, I got instant connection to my Xbox Series S & X when in “Xbox” mode, and my Android smartphone, PS5, PC/laptop in “USB” mode. As long as USB audio is supported by the host device, it seems this headset will be useful. The cherry on the top is the ability to connect to Bluetooth (5.2) which works as expected
The headset is lightweight (~320 g)
Construction is solid, with a metal-wire based yoke that offers quite good adjustability, with swivel and tilt
Switching between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth via dedicated button
Large and easy to find rotating dial for volume control, which doubles as a chat-mix control as well
Earpads and headband are fabric-based, with memory foam making it very comfortable
Clamping force out of the box is just perfect for my average sized head
Detachable microphone makes usage much more manageable by being able to remove the mic when not needed
Additionally there’s a dedicated mic mute button, so no more mid-meeting mishaps
One of the best headset microphones I have used so far. There’s a pop filter that allows some dampening of the plosives, and this has been perfect for my work meetings
Charging via USB-C port makes it pain-free, and the battery life is stellar
The earpads are removable and uses the same pads as the BlackShark V2 Pro, so headset life is presumed to be long
50 mm drivers are tuned quite well and can be used for gaming and music without a lot of compromise. I found the sound to be better than a lot of the gaming headsets I had the pleasure to use so far. It’s not bloated with bass, and even though midrange and highs are not the most “resolving”, they are in no way atrocious
There’s some builtin EQ settings that can be changed via buttons, and furthermore the Razer Xbox app offers a customizable EQ that can be saved
Microphone also it’s own EQ that can be played around with via the Xbox app
Cons:
Even though the earbuds are fabric on the ear-contact side, and have plush memory foam, I found I had to take them off after 45 mins to 1 hour. I wish the stock pads had gel cooling or something similar, and offered a bit more breathability
The volume dial is not a true analog-type, but a digital one, so not much physical feedback. Furthermore, volume change are in steps (in 2 steps of change), especially noticeable when I was connected via Bluetooth
Bluetooth audio codec is restricted to SBS and AAC. No higher quality codec is supported (so no aptX or LDAC)
Cannot do simultaneous 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth
The app is unusable in Windows. Even though the Razer website claims otherwise, I could not have the headset detected when it was connected to my Windows 11 laptop (in “USB” mode). It only gets detected in “Xbox” mode, but in Windows that’s really annoying in the sense that it’s made for gamepads controls (no keyboard support), and also the setting change does not affect the USB mode behavior
Soundstage is not the best out there, especially for expansive open-world games
Esports EQ settings are ok, but nothing spectacular. Most of the time I was using my own EQ for CoD and other FPS shooters, as the included dedicated EQs sounded a tad unnatural to me - but this is a personal preference
Even though lightweight, it’s not the smallest headset out there and definitely shows it’s gaming origin. I haven’t been to inclined to use it outdoors
In summary, for the price I think this is a complete package in terms of connectivity and versatility. It has become my swiss army knife of audio - only when I want to indulge myself inside a musical nirvana do I bust out my audiophile wired headphones. Other than that I’m happy with the BlackShark V2 Pro.

Headset is good. It is slightly heavier than I’d like and after wearing it for a long time, my ear starts to hurt. I also wear glasses so it might not be as bad for non glass wearers. It’s in my rotation of headsets when I game though.

This is an awesome headset. It looks really nice and easy to use. I really like the cloth material on the cushion as opposed to the leather on most. Def worth the cost.
