    Bad connections

Geek tech improperly connected my home entertainment center. Had uVerse out to correct the problem. Details follow... Coax into DVR, sb connected to modem. Phone line going into DVR instead of modem. Ethernet to BlueRay instead of DVR. I paid you $300 for bad connections that did not work. Conlan, your tech, said I probably had a bad box from uVerse and left me to sort it out. uVerse tech saw and fixed the problem in 3 minutes...three minutes. Mounted flatscreen crooked. Photo attached. You can see the gap as I've the right side speaker vs touching (tight) on the left speaker. When I noticed it the next day I called him. He said that "there may be adjustment screws on the mount, or, maybe the mount "settled on one side". He did not offer to return to fix the problem. When I said that I could not fix it, he suggested that I could pay for another service call. Really!?! Geek squad has helped in the past with my original installation and connection. This time was a waste, GS owes me $300. I will consider a store credit or a full refund. Please advise.

Once you use the Geek squad to program your remote, if if it goes off line again you have to get them back to reprogram the remote.

Can’t really rate them…on July 8 I scheduled this service for July 28. On afternoon of July 27 got a text telling me it was time to schedule the service. I had to go online and find out that “due to unforeseen circumstances” my appointment the next day was cancelled and I had to re-schedule it. Their next available time that was 3 weeks later…I’m hoping they will actually come out and do the job I paid them to do six weeks earlier

Geek Squad needs some remote control experts

The Geek Squad agents that came to program my remote which they brought with them. I purchase the remote which turned out to very good except the Geek Squad agents were totally ignorant of what they were supposed to do. I will say they have knowledge of programing some but not all what I expected from them . They were saying that it is the receiver of which I purchased from BEST BUY!!@@@ not too long ago that's bad. The reviewer's name is ONKYO, your produc!!!!. But it's not the Receiver that's bad, they are the expert agents of the GEEK SQUAD that's bad. I will tell you a secret. My son who has been listening in his room fixed it. Now I can watch TV and Movies. The GS could not fix it my son did it in 5 minutes. I paid close to $400 which included the new remote which cost $99 plus. The rest, I should get a credit back. I would give the GS 1 star. That's it. You should hire my son but he has a good job. I am not teling your agents what my son did. It only took him 2 minutes.

I have had to call agents to my home to correct issues with two of these remotes. Remotes just stopped responding Last agent totally reprogrammed them. Hope this is the last fix. If so, I would give it more stars. Great remote when it works.

Great service from the tech over the phone, but...

I purchased a remote programming package for $99.99. The morning of the appointment the tech called to ask what the issue was. I told him and he said to me: "I'm going to save you $100 because the issue you have isn't related to the remote." He was correct. The tech indicated he would cancel the appointment (which he did) and would put a note in the file to issue a refund. The refund did not and has not arrived. After trying for 2 hours to speak to someone who could help deal with this, I gave up. I would call Geek Squad and be told that they would transfer me to "someone who could help me" which ended up being the customer service line at Best Buy proper. They then told me this had to be dealt with by Geek Squad and transferred me back to them where I was told it had to be dealt with by Best Buy. I tried calling three times hoping to get to someone who could help me, but the same thing happened each time. I eventually went to PayPal (which I had used to pay for the remote programming) and they indicate that they are working with you to solve the problem. Guys/Gals.....could you please just issue the refund? I know it's just a small issue. But, please, all I want is the refund for the service I did not receive.

the mounting was done OK. The other service, antenna, etc. and Harmony Remote Control programming was unsatisfactory on both dates., March 2nd, and March 20th. Someone was supposed to be here on March 18th, but never called to say they were not coming and I had to reschedule. Instructions were requested on use of remote to be emailed to me since Isaac was verbally telling me, which was unsatisfactory. Never received anything...he also said the previous person did not do it properly. Very confusing and no printed directions for use with purchase of remote. Paid $49.99 twice and still do not know how to use remote properly. Request refund of these charges.

    Remote Programming Circus

It took 3 visits to complete the programming of the remote. I have a Universal X-7 and just several Geek Squad members have the knowledge to do the programming. And when I called Geek Squad to schedule a follow up for programming I was told that Geek Squad no longer does Universal programming but they do Harmony. When Geek Squad got to my place they said that information was incorrect. The Geek Squad team that arrived the 3rd time completed the programming. Customer needs to make sure that the Geek Squad team they send has experience programming a Universal Remote.

I already had my Logitech Harmony remote plugged into my computer and set up to add my new Sony TV. The geek squad rep had to use an older model Sony TV code to get my remote to work with my new Sony TV. I spent $79 bucks for something I could have done myself had I known he was going to use an older code. The code he used doesn’t turn my tv off, as it only puts it in standby mode. So I have to use the Sony remote if I want to turn my tv off! Very disappointed after spending $79 bucks!

Am a Total Tech person and still have to wait for 2-3 weeks to get anyone out to the house. Because the phone system so bad wrong person comes first and have to wait another 10 days for right person to come. He arrives and no clue as to why he was there. Eventually Alexa got fixed but this is an ongoing problem. The Geek Squad does not seem to know what they are doing. You also cannot go upstairs to complain as they frown on complaints

Logitech Universal Remote - waste of money

This is for the Logitech universal remote I bought with my home theater system. Basically a waste of money (~$200). It required detailed setup and is not intuitive to use. You have to set up an email account first, and reprogram it every time you add or remove a piece of equipment. I find it much easier to use the separate remotes for the TV, receiver, and Blu-Ray player. I strongly recommend NOT buying this useless piece of hardware.

Geek Squad recognized alternative HDMI tv port

The agents performed excellent work and confirmed that I did not need a tv purchase. However, it this was the 4th visit from the Geek Squad to resolve this problem. The other previous Geek Squad teams were lacking in knowlege. The resolution was to move the HDMI cable to a different, working, port on the TV. I did not need to purchase a new TV. I am very disappointed in the 3 previous Geek Squad trips to my house to resolve this issue.

First of all, the installers called and rescheduled the appointment for late the next day. One of the two men worked with the remote and said we only needed to turn it on, then hit help and the TV would come on. It worked most of the time for him, but hasn’t worked since. They didn’t stay long, didn’t seem very knowledgeable and seemed to be in a hurry to get home...they were from the Quad Cities. Obviously, we were unhappy with the results of this appointment, but assumed it wouldn’t do any good to call back and pay for another call.

Having a functioning remote for your television certainly makes operating it much easier, and our Geek Squad Agents have the skill set to program most remotes our customers own or purchase. I’m sorry to hear the original appointment was rescheduled, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you are able to properly operate your equipment. I’d recommend giving our Geek Squad a call, to see what the possibilities may be. You can reach an Agent at (800) GEEKSQUAD, (800) 433-5778, and they will have access to your work history to determine where we can go from here.

I have delayed completing this review for 3 weeks in hopes the Geek Squad would eventually resolve my Harmony Remote programming issues. However after two failures to even show up for the appointments that they themselves set, I am less than impressed. Most recently this past Saturday, I wasted my entire day awaiting their arrival which never came and no one from Best Buy even bothered to call. Disrespectful of a customers time, to say the least.

We appreciate your feedback. It's always frustrating when an appointment is not up to standards and having your Agent miss visiting your home at the scheduled time is not a good way to start a business relationship. I do apologize for the disappointment as this is not the kind of service we aim to provide our customers. We hope that you will give us a chance to make it right and reach out to us at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778.

They fixed the Logitech Harmony one remote system for the half hour they were here, but we are right back to having the same connectivity problems again. Admit it, all the smart equipment remotes fight each other for dominance and Logitech can not overcome it as the smartest remote. Forget wasting you money on it. Just use the remotes that came with your equipment until all the smart remote manufactures come up with a universal standard.

Let me start by saying the tech that came to my house did a great job and was professional. That said he should have never came to my house to begin with. The salesman in the store insisted that I needed someone from the Geek Squad to fix my dilemma. This is after I spoke with tech support for the product. Long and short of it is that within 5 minutes of being at my house Geek Squad could not get the product to do what I needed. It was a waste of time and money for me because I listened to the salesman at my local store. Be careful when listening to a so called expert at the store.

squad installed my TV ok but have totally failed to sinc with sound bar after many attempts. Although assured I just had to use two remotes that TV sound is off is now back on. On last trip (MANY) it was determined that I had to get an R remote which is very expensive in order to solve the ongoing dilemma of using two remotes and converting to one. Unsatisfactory since I would of never bought this Framed Samsung TV had I had this information prior to purchase.

We like the convenience of using a single remote for your home theater system, as well, so if that’s what you’re looking for, the Remote Control Programing service may indeed be a great solution. While TV installation services may include set-up of a remote that comes with your TV, it should not include multi-device control commands or harmony remote integration which appears to be what you're looking for. If this wasn’t clear when purchasing your TV, we’re very sorry for any inconvenience. Currently, while it doesn’t sound like this went as smoothly as we would hope, I’m glad to hear that you’ve been able to work with the Geek Squad team to find a resolution to de-clutter your remote usage. If you are in need of any additional assistance, please give us a call at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778.

Geek Jason did a nice job of re-programming the home entertainment system but it was not quite complete. After he left, the on/off feature for the TV does not work properly. Have spent 3 weeks trying to get him back. On first call, he told me he would set up a work order and come back. But have not heard from him since, and have called a couple of times. Still no date to complete the job. In the meantime, must use the "Help" button every time I want to watch TV. Should be a simple fix. Just need to get them to respond to my phone calls.
