    Bought a complete high end AV system back in '10 and had Geek Squad install. No problems... but just try to get a service call scheduled... HA- what a joke!! Because we are located outside of the "service area", the appointment cannot be scheduled via e-mail or phone... MUST be approved by mgmt prior to scheduling. This was the third time we have called GS to schedule service. Of course they want to get the "out of area" upcharge; I have no problem with that, but even after the upcharge is applied, the appt. STILL cannot be scheduled without mgnt approval. WHAT A BUNCH OF WHOOEY!!! The scheduling caused me to be on the phone and computer for at least three hours; and still, the scheduler had to call me back after hours to let me know when the appt. was scheduled. A great big runaround!! FINALLY, when the tech arrived, he was courteous, and did everything we wanted and the system was reinstalled, upgraded, and reprogrammed as desired. No complaints AT ALL with the tech; just your poor excuse for a scheduling system!!!! There is No reason to aggravate customers in such a manner, when all that has to be done, is to allow the appointment to be scheduled once the travel upcharge is applied, and paid for in advance. Service is great - scheduling SUCKS!!!

    When I made the appoint tment, it was on line. I tried to explain that I did not have a Harmony remote. After several conversations, I was advised to buy a different remote which I did. They came to set it up and left without a demostration about how the remote worked. The remote was very exoensive but it did not control our set up. Frankly I was dissapointed because Best Buy has always delivered for us in the past.

    Technician Great but Call Center Was a Nightmare!

    The actual service part was great! The technician was very thorough and knowledgeable and fixed our problem. However, being forced to go through the national call center to schedule the service was absolutely awful! It took me several hours to finally get my service scheduled. Every time I would call in, I would hold for 20 minutes before I was given the option to request a call back. Twice when I received the call back, the call disconnected before I was finished scheduling the service. I then had to keep calling. It took me hours to do something I wish I could just call my local Best Buy store to schedule.

    Geek Squad & Programing Harmony remote control

    I purchased the Harmony remote control as a replacement for SN older Harmony remote. A Geek Squad agent programmed the new remote.As a whole the programming is ok but at times I have problems with devices not powering up as they should.I have to continuously hold the watch tv button for the home theater unit to come on with sound.If the button is not held there will be picture with no sound.I questioned this and was told to keep the remote pointed at the system.That made no sense as the unit was on.I have you turn it off and restart to get sound. I'm not too happy about this as it was working as it should before the new remote was programmed. There was no fix recommended for this issue.

    First agent that set up Harmony was good. After two months I was having problems with the remote and had to have the Geed Squad come back. They told me there would be no charge for the home visit. WRONG. They charged me another $50 for a house call. This agent made changes from the first agent and I have had problems with the remote every day since second agent left. Sorry I ever bought this remote. Great when it works though. To call and make a complaint is just useless.

    The tech came and fixed my harmony remote but created another problem. That’s been 4 weeks ago. I call him and text him but no response. Any thing i do on the talking to my tv turns on my Sony 5.1 surround amp. I have to turn of off constantly.

    Logan was THE most knowledgable geek squad agent! He came promptly accessed the problem and had me up and running in 30 minutes. Very impressed with Logan. However VERY disappointed in the changes to the total tech services. Not what I initially signed up for even though geek squad has no problem automatically renewing my total tech contract for another year.

    The program guy did a good job explaining what he was doing and was professional. He told me he would come back if problems occurred after he left. .I called 3 times times and left messages, but he never responded. I got a new box from Charter as he recommended, but have to switch to "Input" every time I do certain functions, as he wouldn't answer my voice mail and come back and fix it.I can't switch channels on the second TV without walking up to it and aiming close, which defeats the purpose of paying $100.

    I bought this service to program and learn how to use the additional features of the remote control that had come with the TV. However, this service was designed to set up an optional - additional - remote control that I could have bought, but had not . The person who came out was nice, but there was nothing he could do for me. Since the service call was based upon a misunderstanding, Best Buy did refund my money.

    Setting upthe appointment the first time took 1.5 hours. when they missed the appointment due to a communication instruction prior to the appointment it took 2 hours to set up the second appointment. The appointment went fine. The Geek Squad techs where great but given the scheduling difficulty I would never use the Geek Sqaud again

    Took Them Awhile But Did Get Set Adjusted Well

    They made some changes that I am still getting use to but overall even though it took awhile all adjusted and looks good. They would serve the company better if everyone stayed on the same page. First time I had it adjusted it was fine when a different person came out and did this adjustment put down the job done by the first person. Both did a good job and they should always support each other.

    After 6 weeks of daily use, I must say that the Harmony Remote is hard to use, substantially slower to make changes, and required two trips out by Geek-Squad to completely program. It does control EVERYTHING, game console, blu-ray, receiver, Spectrum DVR and television. But the Spectrum remote does all but the game, and if much faster and easier to use!

    The first technician arrived and did most of the programming as expected. He then told us he would be back next day to add programming for missing components next day and gave us a window. He never arrived. We were left waiting when we should have been elsewhere. NOT GOOD. We had to call and rebook which took additional days and TIME. The issue finally resolved by second tech.

    Worked great initially, but now it has to be reprogrammed as it will not turn off the entertainment system unless I turn off each component individually. It is still better than having to deal with 5 remotes.

    My opinion is they thought I didn't know much about digital and HD products and I have two full systems and 6 other T.V. and I know what I am doing. After they realized I knew what I was talking about they said, you can go that way and did it with the cables I already had. Picture and sound are perfect. Great set up after that.

    The agent programmed my new universal remote to my new Samsung tv both bought recently from Best Buy. It appeared to be working when he demonstrated it,however,it wasn’t really tested for much. I kept having problems with the tv actually coming right on...it would do a bunch of things and then maybe I would get a picture. Many times I had to unplug the tv system and try again. Then I totally couldn’t get a signal yesterday. I called both spectrum and Samsung for help,but still isn’t working properly. The agent was very polite and professional but I still have an issue.

    Not performed or checked as agent ensured that tv and sound bar would work with the ATT remote once I hooked up my box (wasn't available at time of install. Said I had a logitec 665 but was not reviewed during setup. TV mount was good except for the continuous reminders that I should have bought a BB mount instead of amazon. They did mount and balance the tv which is what I needed, it being 65 pounds and hard for a 1 person balancing act. The One Connect box on the back was a issue; however, with a little brainstorming we were able to overcome the deficiency of my mount. Remote start still required multiple controllers until I reprogrammed my 665.

    Remote TV Issues.

    The techs helped set up the Dish TV Remote but he had problems in doing so. I now have 2 TV remotes one for the Sony TV, and another for Dish, but it is confusing, as the tech did not explain to me on how I go from Dishnetwork to Smart TV on the remotes, so I see updates come up on my TV, but don't know which remote to use? So far I have not been able to do any updates. Next problem is I don't know how to navigate to Smart TV and then get back to Dish. That to was not explained? So sadly, I can't enjoy the Sony TV as much as I like in case I use the wrong remote and knock out the Dishnetwork!!

    Not overly impressed as it took the Geek Squad member 4 hours to program the remote This is on the last one to come to the house - the one before that wasn't qualified to up date our remote - even though I told them at the store to look up our remote - just purchased - to make sure they sent the right individual as this remote is a hard one to hook up. Other than the situations listed - have always been pleased with their services - ADVICE Provided - double check to make sure the individual assigned knows what is expected of them when they arrive
