Im bwyond obsessed with having this ring camera! We have worked so hard for everything we own so we use this ring camera as added protection around our yard along with our regular security camera system. The ring doorbell is sleek in design which i love. Installation was pretty easy and didnt take long before we got it all set up. The camera quality is top tier and Im abled to see wverything in my front yard, who pulls up in my front yard, and even whose passing up and down our road. I also love that i can catch candid videos of the kids when they are playing out front. The sound quality is amazing and you can hear very clearly. I love that i can check this constantly when we are away from our home. I was never a doorbell type of person until i got this ring doorbell. To be honest I use it more for the camera than I do as a doorbell. My favorite part is being able to see when my packages arrive on my front porch! Overall this is an amazing quality doorbell with camera that i honestly wish i had gotten sooner!

The Ring wired Doorbell Plus is a great smart device to add to your home for convenience and security. It is a quality and well-built product that should serve your needs for years to come. Install is pretty straight forward. Follow the instructions and you should have it up in running in no time. One thing to keep in mind, since this is a wired device, is to make sure your door bell transformer is properly rated for a video door bell. When I installed my first Ring doorbell a few years ago, I had to upgrade that so it is something to check into at your residence. This unit replaced an older ring door bell that is about 5 years old. The upgrade was definitely worth it. The 2K video is such an improvement! The two way talk, 3d motion detection and low light capabilities all work great and all are welcomed upgrades from my previous doorbell. The speaker for the two way talk is nice a clear, also. All around a great smart doorbell! Though not required, my main gripe is with the subscription service. You get standard features like live view, two way talk and instant alerts right out of the box, but if you want more you will have to subscribe. Overall, I certainly recommend this Ring doorbell if its capabilities suit you. There are a ton of door bells out there so it can get overwhelming for sure. You can't go wrong with Ring in my opinion.

    Great Upgrade!

We recently replaced our old, traditional doorbell with the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) in silver — and honestly, it’s been such a worthwhile upgrade. My husband handled the installation (he’s pretty handy), and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s working out day to day. First off, the video quality is really sharp. The 2K resolution makes a huge difference — I can clearly see who’s at the door, even in lower light, which gives me real peace of mind when I’m home by myself. The low-light vision is impressive; even when it’s a bit cloudy or during dusk, I still get a clean image. One of my favorite things is the 3D motion detection. It doesn’t just ping me for everything that moves — I get more accurate alerts when someone actually approaches the door. That means fewer false notifications, which is a big win since I’m home a lot during the day and don’t want to be constantly distracted. Since I’m usually in the house, I love being able to screen whoever’s there before I get to the door. The live view is fast, and I can talk to people through the Ring app. Whether it’s a delivery person, a neighbor, or just someone dropping by, I don’t have to rush to open the door blindly. We also appreciate that because it’s wired, I don’t have to worry about recharging a battery. It’s more “set it and forget it,” which is exactly what we were hoping for. In short, if you’re looking to modernize your front door, this Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is a smart, reliable choice. It’s given me a lot more confidence and control, and I feel way safer knowing who’s at the door. Highly recommended.

The Ring - Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) is a really nice security device with many features and clear capture. The setup was fairly easy, especially if you have an existing wired doorbell. The step-by-step instructions are spot on and easy to follow. The video quality is superb, and the app is easy to use. I really like the fact you can choose / personalize what you want it to record and send notifications. We have used other cameras in the past that record every movement of bushes blowing in the wind, or birds flying around. I was able to set this camera up to only record people. This allows me to have our dogs in the front porch area, and I won’t get notified every time they walk near the camera. But if someone was to enter the area, or if I get a package delivered, I’ll know immediately and will have crisp clear video footage of it. So far so good. I’m extremely impressed and happy with this new ring device. Ring keeps improving and setting the standard for home security and I look forward to adding more devices soon.

    Wired Doorbell with great picture!

The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) with Retinal 2K picture is a great new doorbell. This is my first video doorbell, so I did not have any previous models to compare to. I am truly impressed by the quality and all the features that come with the doorbell and Ring App, and I now wonder why I waited so long to get one! I got the wired doorbell, so I could use it to replace the old standard doorbell at my house and not have to worry about batteries. I think the wired version is much more convenient, after its been installed. Following are some features and my observations of this model: - Retinal 2K video - the picture is great! Much better than videos I've seen that people often post online from their doorbells. I get good color and a full view of my entryway and front yard. I normally keep my front lights on all night, so haven't had any problems seeing at night either. I tried it with the lights off and I still could see well. - I love the fact I can finally talk to and hear someone who is at the front door. I can finally talk to delivery people if I'm not home. - It is a DIY installation using the existing doorbell wiring. Now, I will say, it was a little more involved than I was expecting, but I am totally not a handy, do-it-yourself guy, so if I can do it, I think anyone can. You download the Ring App and scan a QR code and it really does walk you through every step you need to take, so if you can follow directions, you can get it done. I've just never dealt with wiring before, so I'm sure it took me longer than most. I'd say altogether it took me around an hour to install the doorbell and chime, and another half hour or so to play around with and figure out the App settings, so I spent about 1.5 hours getting everything working the way I wanted. If you were already set up with a Ring App or you are upgrading from an older model, I'm sure it would be much faster. - You get everything you need in the box to set it up, including a universal mounting plate, installation hardware, user manual, push pin, and plastic corner kit. The corner kit came in handy for me, as my doorbell is on the side of my door, so this gives a better video angle of my entryway. The Ring doorbell fit just fine over my old doorbell opening and was easy to attach to the door frame. - There is a small Chime unit that comes with the doorbell. This unit gets hard-wired to your old inside doorbell chime. I was a little surprised by this, as I thought once I hard-wired the doorbell, it would use my old chime. However, your old chimes no longer operate with the Ring Doorbell and you wire this new chime unit to the old one. Once wired up, it works just fine. - I was able to set it all up and connect it to the Ring App on my phone, but it also gives you an easy option to invite your spouse or others in the home to share the same doorbell on their phone apps also. - One of the great features in the App is you can set up the zone in which you want to get alerts of motion in the zone. On the live view, I can see my front yard and sidewalk and street. However, I don't want alerts of people walking on the sidewalks or cars driving by. You can customize the alert zone by dragging it in the picture so that it is inside the front yard and does not give you a motion alert for anyone on the street or sidewalk. So you can truly see just when someone is approaching or on your front yard. You can also choose to be alerted only by people, or if you want alerts for other motion in your yard. - There are countless other settings and features you can choose from that are built within the App, allowing you to customize alerts and sounds and types of motion and providing Smart responses, plus lots of other general settings. You can really set it up for what works best for you. Seems like they have thought of about everything. I'm excited to finally have a Ring Doorbell. If you have an old hard-wired doorbell on your home, this Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) model is a great choice to replace it and provide you with clear video doorbell features.

Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) Camera

So I just snagged this new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus camera a few days ago and has since installed in at the front door to my condo. We recently installed another Ring camera on the front door, so this is merely an upgrade. After having tried some of the other top leading brand names for video doorbell cameras and the like, we decided months ago to go with Ring, and I'm so happy we did. After using the other Ring camera for several months and absolutely loving it, we were stoked to be able to get the chance to test out this new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus camera. Unboxing Includes: * Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) * Chime Kit Mini * Corner Mount * Installation Toolkit * Window Decal Sticker * User Documentation To get started, you will need to download the Ring app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android devices. Next you will need to create an account and follow along with the instructions. But the most important thing you will need to do is make sure your find the line that your front doorbell runs off of at the main breaker box and shut that line down. Unfortunately for me when I first installed other video doorbell cameras, I had to run up and down the stairs to figure out which line my front doorbell was on. Now I know its on my basement line, so after I disconnected that main power line, I started with my installation process. One thing I love about Ring is the installation process is so simple. If you just follow along with the app, you will have your doorbell camera setup in no time. Once I got everything installed and turned the power back on, I waited for the camera to properly boot up and got it connected to the home network. Now once it was added to my account I wanted to remove the old Ring camera from my account. This is where I think Ring needs to revamp their connection and disconnection. If and when you sign up for one of their accounts (which you need in order to save history), they need to make it easier for customers who are simply upgrading their cameras to remove a camera and add a new one. Simply adding a new camera to your account makes it to where you will be paying another $4.99 or more for each additional camera to your account. Instead it should be if you want to continue with he same subscription you have, you should be able to simply remove the old camera from your account and add the new camera to your account without having to discontinued the old subscription and start a new one. This is the one area i believe they need to fix and focus on and make it more user friendly for those of us that are simply just upgrading from older cameras to the newer ones. Aside from that, this doorbell camera has some amazing features, such as 3D Motion Detection, Retinal Vision 2K, Low Light Sight and more. 2 way audio works amazing, you can clearly hear those on the other side of your door no matter whether you're home or away from your home. That lets would-be intruders know that you are watching them. As far as video is concerned, I love the quality of the 2k as well as the field of view. Our older Ring camera video was crisp and clear and this new doorbell camera just took that to a whole 'nother level. All in all we're happy with our new Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) camera and think you will enjoy it as well. Just another level peace of mind knowing your home is guarded no matter if you're home or not.

I am not new to Ring products, but I am new to Ring doorbell cameras, and after trying other brands, I decided to just go with Ring because I have heard good things and, realistically, they are the brand that pioneered doorbell cameras. From the beginning, everything was clear and simple, with instructions both online and in the box. My home was built in 1995, so the chime is old, but I was able to bypass the static sound by following the instructions. I installed the new bell near the old one, and my house is about 2000sqft, and I don’t have any trouble hearing the doorbell no matter where I am. Probably my favorite part about this doorbell camera is that it is wired, so I do not have to worry about the battery or missing a moment that should have been captured. My other Ring cameras are wireless, and I have to charge them occasionally after some time. The hard wire installation was also pretty straightforward and almost like plug and play. If you follow the instructions and practice patience, you will be able to do it with no problem. I am not sure why some people pay to get these installed. I did it in under 30 minutes, and I would not consider myself a handyman around the house. Video quality is great during the day. It is a little harder at night, but still very usable. All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone already in the Ring ecosystem, but even if you are not, you really cannot go wrong with a Ring doorbell compared with other brands. My only suggestion for the future would be to make the design a bit more modern. This model looks like the other Ring doorbell cameras I have seen from the beginning, so offering a few different color options might be nice for personal preference.

After installing the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen), I can confidently say it’s a major upgrade from previous models. The standout feature for me has been the Retinal 2K video quality—the footage is sharp and clear, even in low-light conditions. The Low-Light Sight and adaptive night vision really impressed me; I get full-color video in near darkness and crisp black-and-white when it’s completely dark. Another highlight is the 3D motion detection. The radar-powered alerts are accurate and cut down on false notifications, which was a big frustration with older doorbells I’ve used. Combined with two-way talk and live view, I can easily communicate with visitors in real time, and Alexa integration makes it even more convenient. However, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. The mounting design can be tricky—once installed, relocating the unit isn’t simple. Also, since it’s hardwired, you’ll need existing doorbell wiring; there’s no battery option. And while the basic features work great, you’ll need a Ring subscription for advanced options like cloud storage and video descriptions. Lastly, I’ve seen reports of limited support after the warranty period, which is something to keep in mind. On the positive side, the sleek redesign and customizable faceplates give it a modern look that fits well with my home’s exterior. If you’re looking for top-tier video quality and precise motion alerts, this doorbell is a solid choice. Just be prepared for the hardwired setup and consider the subscription if you want all the advanced features.

I'm planning a move into a new house that has one of those "other" brands of video doorbells and I've always been a fan of Ring products. I have their alarm system, sensors, cameras, and appreciate how easy it is to set up and use their products. The Ring Doorbell Plus is yet another example of their current product lineup. My previous doorbell was wireless but the new home provided the ability to hard-wire so this one was the way to go. Installation is simple - attach the mounting plate to the wall, scan the QR code to add the doorbell to your app, attach 2 wires, and click the doorbell into place. It connects easily to the app and wireless network and can be set up on either 2.4 or 5ghz. I was a little confused as to why the box included a mini chime kit, or why I needed one, but after a little online research I found that some ring doorbells don't work with mechanical chimes. This takes care of that issue by mounting the mini chime kit inside your existing chime housing, bypassing the mechanical chime, and using the Ring Chime instead....Genius! The Chime kit also helps optimize power delivery to your Ring doorbell. As anticipated, the second generation Ring Plus provides great video. It offers retinal 2k which provides great resolution, including low-light sight which provides color images in low-light conditions. It also uses 3D motion detection to provide accurate alerts which can be tailored to your view by mapping out those specific areas. The wired rind doorbell also works with Alexa Echo to provide a view of your front door! My doorbell came with the standard silver faceplate but additional faceplates are available and swapping them out is easy! Another great Ring product!

I have been using the Ring - Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Generation) Retinal 2K with 3D Motion Detection and Low-Light Sight for a few days, and it works absolutely great. The bold redesign looks modern and sleek by my front door, and the Retinal 2K video quality is incredibly crisp and true-to-life. It truly feels like my front door is brought directly to my phone in a way I have not experienced with other devices. I will see exactly what is happening whenever someone comes to my door. One of my favorite features is the Live View and Two-Way Talk. I can see, hear, and speak to whoever is at my door in real time, whether it is a delivery driver, a visitor, or someone I do not recognize. The 3D Motion Detection has also been impressive. The radar-powered motion detection gives me more precise alerts, so I am not overwhelmed by unnecessary notifications, and I know when there is real activity at my front door. The Low-Light Sight feature is another major highlight. Even in near-dark conditions, I still get a full color view as long as there is a nearby street. This gives me peace of mind at night because I can clearly see what is going on outside without everything turning into a grainy or washed-out image. The doorbell is hardwired using my home’s existing doorbell wiring, so once it was installed. I also appreciate how well it works with Alexa. I can hear custom notifications and launch video on my Alexa-enabled devices, which makes it even easier to keep an eye on things without constantly reaching for my phone.

The unboxing was very easy and they included all the hardware in labeled pouches. The provided quick start guide started with me downloading the new Ring Aware app. Then I was prompted to create an account. Simple process. Then I scanned the QR code of the doorbell and it prompted me through the setup. It started with the type of wiring to the transformer needed. Then I connected the provided door chime. Finally, I installed the angled wall plate. Then the Doorbell connected. The final screw that locks the doorbell to the plate required some force when screwing to get it to tighten properly. Also, the angled bracket sits lower than the doorbell so doesn’t look as clean on the front of my house as the previous doorbell I had. Once powered on I was able to go in and set up the sensitivity to when it records and what it alerts me on. You are provided with vehicles, person, package and other. This allows me to get what notifications I want. Also, it allows you to enable AI to get a single clip. The doorbell placement does show more of my house than my previous doorbell but that is how it installs and the viewing angle of the camera. The quality is really good during the day and at night. I like it when you want to look at the clips they are user friendly, and you can download and share them easily. Also adding the family was simple. Finally, what makes this a really good option is the $60 year option which is affordable compared to others on the market.

Ok, so after spending some time with the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen), I can confidently say this is a strong upgrade from previous generations. The Retinal 2K video quality is legitimately impressive — crisp, clean, and detailed enough that you don’t get that graininess you normally expect when you zoom in. Low-light sight has also been noticeably better than earlier models; faces stay clear instead of turning into silhouettes, which is exactly what you want for a doorbell that’s supposed to keep an eye on things 24/7. The 3D Motion Detection is a winner for me too. You can feel the difference, alerts come in faster, and the zones feel more accurate, picking up people while ignoring random movement that used to trigger my old camera (and by the way drove me a little crazy). And honestly, one thing I’ve always appreciated about Ring is the neighborhood community feature. Being able to see what’s going on around my area — from safety alerts to simple heads-ups — actually adds value in a way a lot of smart home products don’t. All around, this feels polished, reliable, and clearly built with some thoughtful improvements under the hood. If you're already in the Ring ecosystem or just want a dependable wired doorbell with great video, this one’s absolutely worth picking up.

LOVE the Ring Doorbell. We had one on our prior home, and when we moved we left it on our house. So we needed a new one for our new home. I am a huge fan of Ring Doorbell. They are super easy to install and they work great on the mobile app. I have tried other brands and I always come back to Ring. After installation I immediately could see the difference in this version (2K) over the original. This was a great investment and I am glad I made the purchase for the newer version. The image is already so much more crisp and clear even in low light situations. ANother enhancement with this version is it now accepts 5GHz WiFi. The original struggled to pick up my home wifi (dual band) and now this new version picks it up easy and holds the connection without issue. If you are in the market for a video doorbell look no further, this is the brand you want to go with. I enjoy being able watch live views as well as answer the doorbell and have two way communications with the person at my door even if I am not home. You get all the items you need in the box to install this to your existing doorbell wiring. There are great instructions provided so even if this is your first venture into this market, you will be up and running in no time.

I can see why these door bells are very popular. I have tried different brands of these door bells in the past and either it was the video/photo quality was sub par or the sound was as well. This unit worked out great and passed all concerns I had. When I picked this up I thought it was a battery type unit but it was a wired system to be used with your existing system. So be careful when you purchase one to make sure it will work with your system. I have an older house so I had a wired system so this system worked great. The door bell comes with all the necessary items that is compatible with the existing two wire system. Once you have it mounted the setup process is very similar to setting up a wireless camera system. The camera has very good resolution and the night view is also better than previous units I have used in the recent past. I really enjoy the 3d motion detection as my other previous door bells I had many photos of nothing in the view. This has always had a picture of someone or a animal in the photo. I would buy another one if I needed to purchase again.

    A new look for Ring

I’ve been a Ring subscriber since the first units arrived on the scene, before the company was purchased. The design language since that time has always been fairly consistent. This feels to me like the first total overhaul to bring it up to what the competitors are doing with more of a rounded edge feel. Ring cameras always felt like they had some squared-off edges but this one is curvy all the way. It’s obvious in the way it doesn’t sit flat on its left and right edges. But another big departure from its old design language is the ratio: it’s much skinnier than before. This change will be invaluable for people who have slimmer mounting surfaces and historically had to go with another brand. Everything else operates as my older Ring Pro cam it replaced. The resolution is upgraded and it functions like you’d expect it to. I also appreciate that Ring now includes extension wires with C terminal hooks to make wiring the unit easier. A worthy successor to the older Pro and it comes in at a lower price. Can’t ask for more. Good job, Ring!

So I have never used a Ring before. Figured now was a good time as any. Getting into the world of Ring was a bit more than I anticipated. I did not know there were so many models out there. This Ring Wired Doorbell Plus seemed like a good middle ground. I felt wired is usually the way to go with security cameras as you can get better performance. I gotta say I was a bit surprised by how large these things are now. I had seen the first generations before. I guess with better cameras and sensors, they had to make them bigger. Given that it is wired, you do need to plug it into the existing wire system. Now, one thing that I didn't realize with the Ring is that while it is compatible with the vast majority of existing wired doorbells, it will not work with your existing mechanical chime. Instead, you have to connect the Chime Kit Mini which only has one chime. It is incredibly annoying to me. You should look up the sound before buying to see if is something that you can tolerate. I guess I had some misconceptions about the Ring. The video quality itself is good. I actually can compare it to a 4K Ring that I also got. While the video quality difference is noticeable, it did not actually make any big differences in real world use. Now another thing that I did not know with Ring cameras is that you need a subscription to unlock alot of the features, namely saving recordings. This is an unfortunate trend with today's technology. All in all, this is easy to set up. The video quality is decent. Nowhere near as crisp as the commercials will make it seem but good value.
