Already looking at expanding to the home security kit. The image is crystal clear and I appreciate being able to see in color at night or day. I also appreciate being able to tweak my motion detector settings and now have it just right. Also, I love having the hard wired and never having to worry about battery life. 5/5 would recommend. Get yours now while they're on sale during the holidays.

This was the best decision. We had it hard wired and now it doesn't matter how many cars, bikes, or people pass by, it's always fully charged. We took the older Ring and placed it at the back door where it captures mostly squirrels.

We have one installed here at home and love it! This one works wonders out there and now we can see if anyone would ever start trying to break in or doing things on the property as the range from the front door is nice and wide. We originally had purchased the battery/wired version but found out that wasn't going to work in the house situation because we can't even get up the 900 ft. driveway once winter snows set in. If the battery goes dead on that style it will no longer function, even though we had it hard wired. Exchanged it for this wired Pro version and as mentioned, it works beautiful. You definitely need to purchase the Ring Protect Plan which shows you videos after the fact for review. It's reasonably priced and well worth it. All in all we are VERY pleased with the purchase and peace of mind this Ring doorbell offers. Definitely recommended!

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long story short, I first installed a Ring Doorbell (2020) and came to dislike it pretty bad when I found out that while you can wire it to your existing doorbell wiring, it actually runs off a non-removable battery, so you need to periodically uninstall the whole unit for charging. So I returned it for a ring doorbell pro at twice the price. It actually does run off the power from your existing doorbell wiring and rings existing mechanical chimes. Only problem I had was while the original ring doorbell 2020 would connect to my ring chime pro network just fine, the doorbell pro would not. I had to connect it directly to my existing wifi, which luckily had enough strength to get to the doorbell pro without the chime pro extension network. Docked 1 star for not being able to connect at either 2.4 or 5 Ghz channels on the chime pro.

Being able to rely on the alerts to know when activity is detected is an essential feature of the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Chime (2nd Generation) is an updated version of the classic Ring Chime. Simply plug it in to a power outlet, set it up in the Ring app, and you'll be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home. We recommend setting up your Ring device (video doorbell or security camera) first, then setting up the Ring Chime. After the device and the Chime are active and on the wifi network, use the Ring app to associate the Ring Chime with the Ring device. Ring Chime connects to 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz wifi and can be paired to any number of Ring devices. You can also pair multiple Ring Chime units to one Ring video doorbell or security camera. Once connected, your Ring Chime will work anywhere it has a wifi connection.
If your Ring Chime is not connecting to your network, we recommend that you reset the device by pressing and holding the rest button on the side of the device for 20 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to connect the device to your network. We have included those steps here:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡).
Tap "Devices" and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
Tap the "Device Health" tile.
Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app.
Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

I was SO tired of having to recharge the battery once a month, and hard wiring is the way to go. Make sure to get the wired version to avoid that headache.

I already had the ac plug from the doorbell2 and it works great with this unit. No problems at all and i am glad i purchased this.

When I purchased this product in September of 2023 it worked fine at my apartment but after one move in December 2024 my ring door bell stopped charging. I tried returning my ring but Best Buy said the product I was returning didn’t match the product I purchased which was not true. By the time I found my receipt at home it was too late, I threw the camera away out of frustration. Total waste of time and money, I’d rather buy directly from the product website when it’s acceptable

Your peace of mind and security are extremely important to us. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is designed to add to your home security.
It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus requires a doorbell transformer rated at 16-24 VAC 50/60HZ, 10-40VA max.
If your Wired Doorbell Plus or Wired Doorbell Pro is hooked up to an internal doorbell chime, check if your Pro Power Kit is properly installed.
If you have an older version of the Wired Doorbell Plus and are using it with an internal chime, check the cable installation of your Pro Power Kit.
The Pro Power Cable (with orange fastening clips) is no longer necessary with newer versions of the Wired Doorbell Plus and Wired Doorbell Pro.
Make sure your Wired Doorbell Plus or Wired Doorbell Pro is properly hooked up directly to a transformer.
