Induction is the best! Everyone is skeptical but when they come over and try it they fall in love. Our kitchen never gets hot like it did with our gas stove. My only complaint is that even though it connects via smart things, it does not let me turn it off. I get why turning on is not allowed, but dont like it, but it should let me power it off as a safety. Highly recommend it thiugh. The knob is a bit slow to respond so i never use that. The fake flame is a cool littletouch.

    Almost Perfect

We just installed this induction cook-top to replace a 10 year old GE that bit the dust in the hopes that Samsung does better. It's a nice improvement. Noticeably more powerful and nicely featured. We love the left side multi and odd pan shape setup. And the blue leds are more than cool looking, they are a much nicer way to know things are on than looking straight down at the control readout. The downside... the slight delay from the pressing of power on and or temp selection to the moment of actuation takes getting use to. And the advertised timer w/alarm and Wifi are just marketing gimmicks. A timer alarm who's four tiny chirps that can't be heard (unless everything is extremely quiet and you're standing in front) is useless. They might as well have just included an hour glass. The WiFi can't control anything (other than setting the useless timer) and doesn't notify. It might be handy if you have something slow cooking all day and want to see if it's still on while you're away, but why? You can't do anything about it. And if you're worried that the house power might have blinked forget being able to turn things back on. If you activate WiFi you get an "always on" led which distracts from the clean glass-top look so off it stays. They should have just left out the timer and WiFi and cut the price. But these are no reason not to enjoy this one, it's really a fantastic way to cook.

    DO NOT PURCHASE!~

DO NOT PURCHASE! Read the other reviews here and take note that the majority of the 4-5 star reviews are recent purchases. Most less than 6 months. I purchased this in late 2021 for $2,500.00. It stopped working all together about 2 weeks ago. I contacted Samsung repair and they sent a tech out to look at the cooktop. The repair would cost over $2,000.00 for parts + labor to be determined. Warranty is one year for the critical internal parts. Repair would require the cooktop to be removed and completely disassembled to replace all 4 circuit boards. So essentially I would be paying for a new cooktop. Tech suggested I should have purchased the extended warranty. Please take that advice if buying this cooktop.

Not having a gas cook top option I was pleasantly surprised how similar Samsung cooktop performs like gas. I did need to purchase new pots and pans, Best Buy has several good pot and pan set options. The controls are sensitive and take a little getting used to, the Flexzone is great to have when grilling.

I have had this for a short time, but I have fallen in love with it. I really enjoy all the bells and whistles that it offers. It has knobs that can be removed, which I do not use, I much rather have the digital and the blue flame makes it look like it is gas but without the smell. I love to bake so the melt setting is wonderful, I don't have to pull out my double boiler to melt chocolate anymore. It has a quick boil setting which my husband really likes (makes his tea quicker). My grandkids love it when I make them pancakes; with the flex zone it brings the burners together and distributes the heat evenly (unlike my gas cooktop). After I remove the pan, the stove top cools down quickly so I don't have to worry about them touching the stove and burning their little fingers. I thought the bluetooth was a bit overboard for a cooktop, but I purchased the hood and now I don't have to bother with turning it on, it turns itself on. It's flat surface makes it really nice when I need more counter space. And did I mention that there is no burners to clean, I just get a damp rag and wipe if off. I am looking forward to many years of cooking with my new cooktop.

Water sensor too sensitive - non operable

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

During the first year we would often get a moisture code (F2) and have to flip our breaker to reset. We live in Hawaii and we don't have AC. Notified Samsung and they looked at it but said nothing was wrong. A year later it was happening al the time, but they claimed it was out of warranty. Paid to have a repair man look at it and was told "this is a known problem for this cooktop and I can replace the sensor but it will keep doing it here do to the humidity". It has gotten horrendous. Constantly having to throw breakers multiple times to get the cooktop to turn on. After a rainstorm you often can't use it for a couple days. We have a dehumidifier on the cooktop and it helps but it is not foolproof. We couldn't get it started this past Thanksgiving and we have had enough. Everytime we have spoken to customer service they pretend like this is something unique to our unit, yet every repair man we have talked too and even the best buy on Oahu knows about the problem and just laughs and says, "yeah they don't work here!" Yet they still sell them and pretend the units are good. Do not buy if you live in a humid climate.

very unhappy with the Samsung induction stove top!

I thought getting an induction cook top was the way to go- speed of cooking, the surface cools down fast---NO,NO,NO not worth it. Although the speed of heating is great- if you can't get it to work who cares! The touch pad is poor, can't get it to turn on with just a touch and if you get just a small amount of liquid on the surface it turns off all the elements. This happens every time I boil water! Then I have to completely wipe down the entire stove top and dry it before I can get it to turn on again. then at times I could be cooking and I notice the temperature has been reduced. Im not sure if its because my hand passed over the touch control or something splashed on it ? Now Im getting a code that tells me that I need to have it serviced! I've only had this cook top for 6 months!!! Oh and the knob that is included to allow you to manually turn temp up or down -doesn't work well enough to use on a regular bases, again very touchy. I am very dissatisfied with this cook top! I do not recommend it.

IF YOU LIKE WASTING $800/YEAR ON ELECTRICITY.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT UNLESS YOU LIKE SPENDING OVER $800 PER YEAR JUST TO HAVE IT SIT OFF! I just had a service technician to my home to troubleshoot this cooktop. The problem is that even when the cooktop is off it is still pulling 2.14 amps at the circuit breaker panel. After looking over the unit and conferring with their technical people I was told that it is working as designed. That's insane. Where I live that is over $800 per year just to have it sit off. Here's the math. 2.14 Amps times 240V equals 513.6 Watts (Watts = Amps times Voltage). 513.6 Watts x 24 hours = 12,326.4 Watts per day which is 12.33 kWh per day. 12.33 kWh times $.018 per kWh (my electric rate in Indiana) is $2.22 which is my electric cost per day. Multiply this by 365 and you get $810.30 which is my yearly cost just to have this cooktop sit off with the circuit breaker on. I paid about $2500 for this cooktop. Had I known that for the next 10 years that it was going cost me another $8,000 before even using it I never would have purchased it. Just to give my bona fides I am what is referred to as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the electrical field. Had I been aware of this I never would have purchased this unit. I thought industry was supposed to be cutting back on electric usage, not increasing it. Now I have to go out to my garage to turn the circuit breaker on and off every time I use it. Not my idea of convenience.

It has been nothing but disappointing since we renovated our kitchen. The surface is hardly scratch resistant and causes us to feel we have to baby it beyond reason. We mostly keep it covered in silpats to protect it but it still manages to get scratched. As others have mentioned the touch controls are garbage and the wheel it comes with doesn't always work and lately it will randomly change the settings which caused us to burn some food. The markings on the surface are very much on the surface and if you rub it too hard they will fade. I now have one spot on it that looks fainter than the rest for that exact reason and I've had it for less than a year. I can only imagine what it will look like in time. Lastly, and worst of all I suppose, it sucks at its primary function, Cooking! It heats horrifically uneven. I'm guessing that most of the people here reviewing just boil water. This is my biggest issue because we have a 3yr warranty but I'm not sure what the point of trying to address issues for something this bad. I will be going back to gas eventually. Given the cost, it's all the more painful.

Two year review.. This is my 2nd bad review of the $10,000 Samsung appliance package. Again, this cooktop could be great but fails like my Samsung Duo Oven. Why would you make a cooktop that turns off when a little bit of water gets on the cooktop. I've had it even had the cooktop lock up, requiring me to reset the breaker. Nothing like cooking something and 3 minutes later, you find your cooktop turned off because a few drops of water splashed on the top. If this is a safety issue, then why would you make the cooktop touch sensitive? Next issue. I have one burner that refuses to work with my two different sets of cookware. Called Samsung support on that and they said it was my pan. This could be the case, but I wouldn't think two different brands work on other burners, but not this one. So now I have one burner less after two years. In all these cases, I've called Samsung during the warranty and was told that it wasn't a serviceable issue. With only one year warranty, now I'm out of luck.

I've had TWO of these units replaced now over the course of 4 years. Thank god that I got the extended warranty. Each time that the electronics burn out (literally smoke coming out of the electronics on the boards as they burn up) it takes upwards of a month to get a technician scheduled to attempt a repair... but parts are never available. The first time I replaced with this same unit. I thought maybe it was just a fluke. Nope. Same issue. Different component.

Samsung has the worst appliances I ever bought. Refrigerator freezer that’s out refreezes for no reason. Spent $1000 extra for outside door. Piece of crap. Doesn’t open properly half the time. Cooktop won’t work half the time. Wall oven had to be replaced within 7 months. Cooktop cuts off due to heating issues. Heat sensor replaced same issues. Cooktop goes from setting 3 to 15 by itself burns food. Samsung has no customer service. Very poor. Closes out tickets with no repair tech ever sent out over and over. No return calls from Samsung. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT MADE BY SAMSUNG! BEWARE! BAD SAMSUNG REVIEWS ON LINE. RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY.

Had this cooktop for just about a year and already one of the burners is failing (circuit board issue). Only way to diagnose/fix is to remove it, which would damage the countertops. I am very disappointed with Samsung and Best Buy. I bought a suite of Samsung appliances (refrigerator, induction cook top, hood, dishwasher and wall oven.) I had t=now for about three months and had the dishwasher replace 3 times, cook top twice, oven twice and refrigerator twice. I have the extended warranty but that does not help. The cook top and wall over have the same problems as the original units. No way to escalate and get these problems fixed. Samsung and Best Buy do not care about you after the sale is complete.

    Terrible controls, avoid this product

We’ve had one of these for two years. The induction burners themselves are great. Work well, cook well. The blue lights are a nice feature. So why the 1-star review? The controls are terrible. They work poorly if your fingers are wet (and when cooking my fingers are always wet!) They work poorly if you take a lid off a pot and some condensation drips onto the glass surface. The little removable magnetic knob is a complete joke. Samsung already replaced it once on warranty for us, but the performance is the same. It’s clearly a defective product design. Stay away.

Touch Controls Do Not Control - Uncontrollable

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Read these reviews thoughtfully. People praise Induction Cooking because it's amazing. Samsung has an unadmitted problem with their controls. A $2,200 cooktop should last more than 2 years. We are not having it repaired because the magnetic knob doesn't affect temperature control any better than a dry finger. You can't prepare veggies when cooking because the temp settings don't stay put and wet fingers have no effect in resetting the unexpected boil over when the pot was set to simmer. Samsung responded with Guide steps for your GAS cooktop. This has been an awful experience! I love Best Buy yet they will not be your advocate in times of trouble!
