Q80A Worth the Money? Yes it is!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After going thru several selections thru research a d returning 1 model that wasnt what it said it was i settled on the Q80A. It is an awesome tv. Out of the box the settings are maxed on brightness and contrast. I recommend brightness down at least 10 points and contrast cut in half. Thats where i found the best results. The local area dimming is not bad. Considerably better then the M555 65" fire tv that i returned. It does run the Xbox X at 4k doing 120Htz of refresh. It has an HDMI 2.1 port even though it says it doenst. It is labeled game or HDMi 4. Over all i recommend this tv as an upgrade from standard 4k flat screens. Its a lottle more money but the overall benefits weigh out. Also another thing to note about this TV. I am extremely OCD about how well i can hear what i am watching. This TV accomplishes the best souns from a modern flat screen i have personnaly ever heard. I have owned well over 20 tvs ov the years. This one has sound nailed down. Also turn on Itelligent systems and all its features. Thus settles the TVs settings a bit more and adds to the greatness of this model. The rechargeable remote is awesome as well. Its not clogged up with useless buttons. Charging off thw Xbox X teither works great to recharge it. Enjoy. Game On.

Great tv.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv as replacement for an old and too small one. This tv is used practically 24 hours a day. So far no complaints, has a great picture and is easy to handle. The remote was on the small side with no numbers, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually pleasant to use. It reacts real quick to the tv. It is definitely a big improvement in the living room, could have actually gone one more size up. Love the tv, it's clear screen with lively colours and the ease of using. Would definitely recommend to buy, you won't be disappointed. And I read all the reviews before I bought. Even set it up myself as an a-technical woman, it was a piece of cake. The pictures don't do justice to the real view.

Beautiful image, can't get any better than this.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite tv of all times. We always have the latest tvs because we are big tv watchers. I don't know how this could get better. I love samsung tvs. Easy to use, images is crisp and beautiful and so far after 1 year is working perfectly fine. Love the remote control does not need batteries is rechargeable with sunlight. The voice commands are not the best but we don't care for that anyways. Love the fact you can turn it off with your voice when you are trying to run out of the house and can't find the remote.

Another Quality Television…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Q80 does not disappoint. This is our second Q80 in the house and the picture is just as good if not better than the previous one purchased. The bezel around the frame is thin and overall we didn't feel this television was too heavy to move around and hang. We used a slim flat wall hanger and it fit perfect with minimal space between the wall and the television. The setup was fantastic. The television walks you through an automated setup via your mobile device or the remove. We chose the mobile device and it worked flawlessly. Seemed so much easier than dealing with a remote control to perform the setup. The technology has really advanced since our last purchase. The remote is Solar! No more crusted AA or AAA batteries in your remotes! Just keep the remote by a light source and you're charged up and ready to use on the television with ease. This was a great idea and I think will catch on with other vendors over time to help save the environment and become more green. The picture is just so detailed. The greens on the Masters golf tournament look like you're actually there. The speed at which you change channels and menu options is fair and overall, the television is just a great view on the wall compared to some of the older televisions out there. Do not be shy about looking and reviewing these televisions. They truly are a piece of technology that you will be able to use for years to come.

State of the Art tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung 65" Q80A QLED 4K Smart TV is state of the art! The picture is crystal clear and perfect no matter what seat you are in! No blind spots or glare. The sound (Quantum dot) is incredible and travels with the picture. It comes with Samsung TV which is a subscription free TV service with over a 150 channels and growing! The remote control is solar powered and charged by the lights in the home! No more looking for batteries. I love the on screen TV guide as well the built in voice control. You can change the channel, search for content, control smart home devices using just your voice. The screen can also be customized to display graphics or artwork when not in use. There is so much this television is capable of including mirroring your Samsung phone screen with the tap of a button! I've only had this television for a little over a week and I'm looking forward to making new discoveries as I learn what else this television is capable of doing! Samsung has thought of everything and put a lot of innovation and experience into the consumers viewing experience. I am very pleased with this model! I never knew how much I was missing out on before this television arrived. I can not wait to rediscover gaming with this advanced technology!

Wonderful tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn't be happier with our choice of this tv. Color is great, picture is great. Not much of a glare if at all even in a bright room. The remote being solar recharging is awesome. We've had this tv for a few months now and zero problems. Other people complained of stickers on the screen that couldnt come off or that the screen wasnt perfectly clear...they did not pull the screen protector off. Ours had a tab so maybe Samsung made a small update on their packaging after so many complaints but it was easy to remove and crystal clear picture after that. Even with the protective film, it was rather clear, just not perfect.

Not perfect...but pretty close
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this purchase, and even happier I did not cheap out; My original budget ceiling was $1000. but I got this one anyway. Samsung did not make me regret it. Color is amazing, the picture is vibrant and detailed without looking oversaturated. View angles are very good (I have been told this because of a new panel added since the Q80T series). I have it in a bright room, and it is plenty bright to make the screen completely visible. Very little reflection. It uses a local dimming feature that makes blacks blacker than they otherwise would be with a full always-on LED backlight. It does work, but it is not going to match a true OLED display for blacks. But if you can't get OLED, this is probably the next best thing. The OS is very quick and fluid, and there is little to complain about, save for the typical Samsung thing of including apps you cannot remove (Apple TV is an example...it will appear on your Home bar forever....you can't uninstall it or remove it). But you do have full control over picture and OS settings otherwise. I am often critical of Samsung OSs...I have owned many Samsung TVs, all with horrible UIs. But this one is slick, fast, and mostly intuitive. You will need to join Samsung Plus to get access to the full app library (it's free). But every app I needed is on there, and all the apps appear to be "current"...so I don't feel the need to use my Roku or Fire TV. The OS will allow you to set your own default voice assistant; Alexa, Google, and Siri are supported. I used Google...did not have any luck using it to change system settings or anything. But if you want to, say, find directions or hours for stores and stuff, it could be useful. The OS will also auto-adjust things like brightness and volume for you if you want, so you can go from very dark to very light ambient light wiothout having to mess with the settings. So far, I have not seen reason to mess with it, and I usually feel like I have to adjust stuff like that. The remote is another thing Samsung usually gets wrong. The last one I used had a weird IR-cursor thing that was too sensitive to be useful. But again, this TV remote is amazing. Very minimalistic but functional. It has a non-removable batter that is charged by either USB-C, or a solar panel built into the back. Simply leaving the solar panel exposed all the time (you don't need direct sunlight) is probably enough to keep it charged. It's a neat idea. If you're on the fence about going a little cheaper, my advice is just take the plunge. It was worth it for me. MY scores are relative to other TVs in this price range for this size.

Great picture with caveats
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, if you are reading this review for gaming on next-gen consoles, I won't be able to input because I do gaming on a PC with a separate setup. Now for the Tv review, I would like to say that the overall picture quality is great. HDR10 seems to work well and the upscaling is very good for a 'midrange' tv. I love the center stand and the solar charging remote is a nice touch. The panels are extremely thin, but that should be the case on any tv in this price range. Overall brightness is solid as well. Now I will point out that I returned a faulty Vizio Oled and decided upon this tv for a handful of reasons. Of course price was the first reason as Oleds tend to be expensive, which is why I ended up trying a Vizio Oled in the first place over an LG or Sony. I was able to pick the Samsung Q80A QLed up for a sale price of $1400. That being said, I feel like that is a fair price for this tv. Had I purchased it for the full retail price, I would have felt a sense of regret because I have seen the difference and Oled is definitely superior in many ways. Nonetheless, the Samsung Q80A has outstanding picture quality for everyday usage and definitely competes with Oled for what it is. The reasons I give this tv a 4 star is because there are some caveats. The Q80A holds up well in dark scenes and full array backlighting is solid, but there is still a slight blooming effect that is noticeable. Also, Samsung TVs are not compatible with Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision is being utilized more and more, and in my opinion is superior to standard HDR. And lastly, this tv along with many of Samsung's 2021 models does suffer a bit of DSE (dirty screen effect). I won't say that it is awful by any means but it is there. Most people probably won't notice it or even look for it though. To summarize my review, I think the Samsung Q80A is a good tv but not a great tv. I enjoy it, I really do. And I think it's competitive to the Oled market because it feasts on Oled weaknesses such as brightness, glare and fear of burn in, all while still producing great blacks and decent contrast. The price range I purchased it at ($1400) seems to me like the more fair option. At $1800, I would tell you to spend the extra money on an Oled because contrast on Oled is just bar none better. And at $1800, I think Dolby Vision should be an option. Regardless, the Samsung Q80A is a great looking Tv.

Big Bang For Your Bucks!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent TV! It’s easy to set up, and has great picture and sound. I would think most people won’t feel the need for a sound bar. The solar chargeable remote is neat too. This TV wasn’t purchased for me. This is my mom’s TV. She wanted my help in choosing one, and this is the one I advised her to get. I do own another Samsung QLED model, so I already knew they were solid. My entire family relies on me for tech support and advice. For what it’s worth, my sister’s boyfriend was over at her place recently, helping her with some heavy lifting. He saw and checked out the TV while he was there. He was so impressed with it that he contacted me, asking for the model number so that he could get one for himself.

Amazing TV and Exceptional GEEK Squad Service!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We waited a month for delivery because we wanted Geek Squad delivery and setup. It was definitely worth the wait! The TV - we LOVE this tv! Have been Samsung fans for years and this one tops all others we have purchased! Got the Q80A QLED and, as expected with Samsung, the picture is crisp (almost 3D) with fantastic, true color. The apps are so easy to access with both Netflix and Amazon Prime built right into the remote! The 65” is like being at the drive-in, lol. Appreciate that the stand is still in the middle, not those awful side legs that could scratch our nice table. As always, great view from all angles. And, love that there are no batteries in the tv remote!—-it charges solar!!!! Note: we have a separate sound system, so cannot review the TV sound/speakers. The Geek Squad- Mike from the Amherst, NY Geek Squad was fantastic! First, he was early, so the extra perk was we got to watch the entire Buffalo Bills game! Second, he was so efficient and neat! We offered to put the box and stuff in our trash, but nope, Geek Squad clears everything! So organized that there was no mess, anyway! Third, he was sooo knowledgeable! He quickly set and synchronized everything for us. We hardly have to push any buttons to work this system! He could not have been more patient in setting things up and teaching us how to use it. Furthermore, he was respectful, friendly and COVID-safe during this visit. If we need GEEK squad again ever, we hope we get Mike!

Outstanding TV for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new Samsung 65 inch TV was delivered early January 2022. I like and enjoy everything about it. Great sound, great picture and the size is perfect for my house. The first two weeks I had it I couldn’t stop watching it. It’s not the top of the line QLED, (not a NEO) but for the price it exhibits an awesome picture and sporting events are especially eye-popping in terms of real live color and capturing movement seamlessly. It has a solar remote in which recharges itself simply by daylight. The app features are easy to work with and customize for those you most want to view. I give this product “five stars” because I couldn’t be more happier with this product. I have it hooked up with my Nakamichi sound system and the combination is incredible. I would definitely recommend purchasing this TV because you get so much bang for the buck. Good watching!

My first Samsung TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv has a great picture for 1080 and 4K. I used a reviewers specs to set tv up. I initially did not like the picture out of the box. Keep in movie mode. That is the best picture. I was very impressed with the sound as well. Much better than the Vizio I previously had. The speakers actually have bass. I have had the tv for about 6 weeks. I like the voice feature too. I just say Alexa and then you can tell it to change volume and look up tv shows and channels. The remote stays charged with light or you can plug it in. I just keep it upside down so it can charge. It’s a good tv with lots of features. You can view from an angle and the picture still looks great.
