I recently upgraded to the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB Internal SSD, and it’s been a game-changer for my setup. If you're looking for speed, reliability, and easy installation, this is the drive to get. Here's my experience with it: Pros: Blazing Fast Speed: The read/write speeds on this thing are incredible. I’m getting close to the advertised 7,450 MB/s read and 6,900 MB/s write speeds. Everything from booting up Windows to loading large applications and games is nearly instant. Excellent for Gaming: As a gamer, this SSD has significantly reduced load times in my games, especially open-world titles with large maps. It’s perfect for high-performance gaming and future-proofing. Reliability: Samsung has always been known for making reliable SSDs, and the 990 PRO is no different. The built-in heatsink helps keep the drive cool, and I haven’t experienced any thermal throttling, even under heavy use. Easy Installation: It’s a standard NVMe M.2 installation, and I had no issues getting it set up on my motherboard. Samsung’s Magician software made it easy to clone my old drive and monitor the health of the SSD. Cons: Price: It’s on the pricier side compared to other SSDs, but in my opinion, the performance and reliability make it worth the investment. Requires PCIe 4.0: To fully take advantage of the speeds, you’ll need a motherboard that supports PCIe Gen 4. If you're on an older platform, you won’t get the maximum performance, but it will still be faster than most SSDs out there. Overall: If you’re looking for a high-performance SSD for gaming, content creation, or just want lightning-fast speeds in general, the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB is a fantastic choice. The Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe SSD not only gave my system a huge speed boost, it actually helped me bring my PC back to life. After swapping it in, boot times are instant, games and apps load in seconds, and file transfers fly. Samsung’s software makes setup and monitoring super easy, and the drive runs cool and stable even under heavy use. very good SSD, ease to fix and suitable with Lenovo P14S Gen 2, it generate heat so I added thermal pads at the top and bottom, and it working very good so far.

The speed is as-advertised. It's in a Thunderbolt 5 enclosure connected to my MacBook Pro M4 Pro. I couldn't be happier with the performance. Highly recommended.

Getting serious. Upgraded a 500GB, no issues at all. Used a external device to clone an old, small M.2. Re-booted, was like nothing changed, just magically had 1.5TB. TB!!! Fast, cheap TB!!!! Sorry, been building my own since 2010, this is friggin easy, cheap and cool. Fast.....

Since the NVMe is gen 4 it wont take bandwidth from your 50 series GPU. This particular NVMe is super dependable and works perfect in raid mode. Its pefect for a main drive or adding additional storage capacity. Samsung makes the most dependable and versatile stroage drives. I have them in my gaming rigs and plan to use this one in the Asus Xbox ROG Ally X.

Very fast and set-up easily in my desktop PC. This is a great addition of storage space and data access is lightening fast. I have moved over 1TB of data and searches are very quick. This is a great SSD Drive.

Excellent M.2 SSD. extremely fast. It can be a bit of a challenge getting a system to recognize it when installed as a second drive. Samsung Magician software will not recognize this drive if you are running a RAID configuration (must be set up to run AHCI mode in BIOS). Unfortunately, I still couldn't get Magician to recognize the drive even after changing to AHCI (I have done this with several other systems with no issues. Not sure what's up with this current system). Magician is not essential to use drive, but makes it easier to update firmware and monitor the SSD.

Simple plug-n-play, fit my Alienware r16 pc perfectly. Performance sees to be running great no issues yet. Just buy the tiny screw to insert on the existing screw on the board. Def a great add-on to your PC to increase memory.

Excellent product! I have bought multiple gen4's and have had 0 issues. Installed in an ASUS-ROG Strix B850-F - I use one dedicated to OS and drivers and the second for game storage. I have not experienced any failures and both have never gone over 40 degrees Celsius. I purchased mine on sale - $10 cheaper than Amazon and $20ish cheaper than Newegg.

oh yeah, what can i say.. before i installed this bad boy, my gaming life was boring and stale.. but then i installed the m.2… ever since then, my performance speeds have sky rocketed and my wife has decided to not leave me! this m.2 is so cool! i sometimes even take it out of my pc and sleep with it tucked under my pillow covers. it feels better after a long gaming session cause the card is still warm kinda.

Dast read & write speeds. Playing and loading games as well as booting from Windows off of a NVME m.2 ssd is amazing. Any new pc should prioritize having good load times as well and this component helped achieve just that. My pc boots up in sub 30 seconds with fast boot enables and less than 60 seconds with fast boot turned off in windows 11.

Maybe a little overkill bit i love the magician software and when its on sale, its close to the same price as the oher higher end ssd’s. This will always be the king of gen 4.

I will be upgrading the system drive of my new gaming laptop with this drive. It will double the capacity of the system drive, as well as increase its speed by over 20%. The longevity of this drive is almost twice that of the old drive as well! This was a good purchase.

My laptop came with a 512GB drive, which was not enough for my needs. I decided to purchase this 2TB model and it worked perfectly. I've always had great success with Samsung products but this new 990 Pro 2TB model is an absolute dream. Actually, this is my 1st m.2 NVMe drive and I've never been more satisfied. It's extremely easy to install but it's the FASTEST drive I've ever purchased. I've read that it's 15x faster than standard SSD 2.5" drives. I believe it! I go from a code boot to a full desktop being presented in under 8 seconds. Extremely nice! Highly recommended! I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I have! Your friend in Virginia

Solid NVMe for the price. Has top tier speeds for a PCIe 4 M.2. I highly suggest it for a storage drive. If you want an NVMe for a partitioner e.g (windows). I would suggest a PCIe 5 since they reach 5 digit speeds.

I bought this to put in an MSI Katana 17-inch gaming laptop. It works great with everything that I use it for. The boot on my laptop is around 4 to 7 seconds from the button to log in. It blazes through MS Office Adobe Acrobat and all my games including Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Mortal Combat, Horizon Zero Dawn, and others without breaking a sweat. You won’t be disappointed.
