Had to change systems

I had to get a new security system as the manufacturer of my 9 year old system (Lowe's) no longer supports it. I researched and decided on the Samsung Smart Things hub as many of my old devices would work on it. I also wanted a brand that wouldn't do to me what Lowe's did. My old system had security and smart home functionality all in one. This new one is great for smart home, but you have to get an ADT service to include security. I figured a work- around that this system can do. Any open sensor on all the doors and windows will alert me on the app. I also have 10 Arlo cameras that will record if motion is sensed so I feel safe. It's a nice hub, and setup of my 50 devices went very smoothly.

With its ability to support many manufacturers and technologies such as Philips Hue & Lutron Casseta this device is a must to keep all of them at the same place. Easy setup and smooth operation.

Had to switch due to Iris shutting down. Chose this because many of my devices we're compatible. Setup was a breeze and so far very happy with my decision.

I hook up leak sensors and a shut off valve to the incoming water to the house. Fairly easy to set up. Next I am going to hook up light switches. It works with Amazon Alana Echo 5.

Switched to smart things when Wink went to subscription model, will pay for itself in about a year. Easy to setup and quick responses on most linked products

I had issues in the beginning to connect with Arlo cameras but overall it helps keep my smart devices together in one app. The first alert smoke detector is the reason for getting the hub because now I can be notified for smoke and carbon monoxide without being home. I can also control my Samsung tv with any device that has SmartThings. It’s a cool hub and recommend. I received a new one when my first one wasn’t turning on. Their customer service is so good and quick u compared to Arlo who’s customer service lacks

I bought this hub when my other brand decided they wanted to start charging a monthly fee after 3 years. This one is easy to set up but I did have a problem with it losing connection with all my lights that I was never able to get fixed. I finally had to use blue-tooth with Amazon Prime App to get them going again. So I don't know if this is a great device or not after that experience.

Easy to set up and add items to. Supports things not even shown on the app. There are two smartthings apps though, which is somewhat confusing.

I purchased the Samsung Smarthings Hub because after contracting a security service for my home, I was told to purchase a specific smart lock that would be compatible with their system. I purchased the lock set, and after installing it, found that it was not compatible and I would not be able to work the lock remotely. I purchased the smarthing hub and am now able to not only work my lock set / add and delete codes but can work a light to go on and off. The home is our vacation home, so it is without occupancy for periods of time. I would highly recommend the Samsung Smarthing hub. Easy to set up and it works like a charm.

I have been using Wink for years. I recently added some smart switches and even though they were Wink compatible they would not work. I bought this hub in hopes of getting things to work. It was a rocky start to get everything set up, but once I did, WOW. With the same smart products everything responds quicker and is more stable. The only problem I have had is that my old GE smart bulbs will not work with SmartThings no matter what I tried.

Works with Schlage Camelot TouchScreen Deadbolt

Purpose of Purchase: To connect Smart Deadbolt to Home Automation System.
The hub connects fine to both Alexa and Google Home. While the lock shows up under the Alexa App, it does not appear under the Google home App so keep this issue in mind if you are heavily invested in the Google ecosystem as Google's API doesn't currently work with the Schlage Z-wave locks connected to a SmartThings hub. Anyhow, you can still control the lock under the SmartThings app directly after the lock is detected using the Smartthings app. You just miss out on the convenience of saying "OK, Google, lock the door."
There are two versions of the SmartThings app available in the Apple Store. I ended up installing both since the newer version would not detect the lock after multiple attempts while the older version detected the lock the first try. You can operate the lock from either app once your device is connected to the hub and the settings are saved to the cloud.
So another option of hub would have been a Wink hub, but I am wary to buying from a company that only makes a hub and no other devices. Who knows how long they will be around to provide software updates. In the Wink hub's favor, it does have the ability to control Lutron light switches without another hub/bridge. The Samsung hub can can control lutron smart switches, but you will need to get the lutron bridge and connect it to your router and then link the bridge to Smarthings and google home/alexa. (So visualize, router + wifi extenders + switches + smarthings hub + lutron bridge, just so you can control your lutron lights switches and smart lock using a voice assistant)
Anyhow it is a slight bummer that I can't control the lock with Google assistant, even though the SmartThings hub is detected. Hopefully this will be remedied in the future since Google seems do smart home better especially in regard to Multi-location issues. If you tell google to turn off the fan, It turns off the fan in the room you are in vs, Alexa tends to turn off the fan at the another address just because it has the same name. For the time being, I have kept a lone Alexa dot just so I can lock the door with voice commands.

I bought this after reading various reviews on hubs. It got one of the better reviews and seems to connect with many other brands, as opposed to my old hub which now charges a monthly subscription fee that would cost much more than this one over time (like just 6 months). This hub works with what I have so far, mostly lights, but I hope to use this for other home internet devices also.

Bought this to replace my Wink 2 because there is no way I am going to pay a subscription to operate my Z wave outlets. I was a bit cautious as some people said it did not recognize older Zwave devices. I had no issues - transferred all my devices over and they all worked! The app is laid out pretty well - much better than wink I would say too. Pretty easy to program, wish it had a few randomizer options so lights don't all come on relatively at the same time. I could program it all differently but having an option or two to do that for you would be nifty.

Awesome product so far, can't complain. I was able to connect my alexa devices, ring, simpli safe security system, and philips hue lights. The feature that I love the most is the connection of my alexa spot device to my ring doorbell, everytime there is motion at the front door or someone presses the ring, it will show up on my alexa spot device and I'm able to answer it from my alexa spot device, i would not have this feature without the samsung smart things hub. the set up was a breeze through the app.

I was a customer of Iris, but they are shutting down. I reviewed quite a few different replacement options before landing on the Smarthings Hub. It had good reviews, a very high product compatibility list and it worked with some of my old Iris products. Overall it has been very easy to setup. I like the interface a lot. I didn't have any issues connecting up all of my devices to it. I have plugs, lights, garage door, motion sensors and door sensors. I also use it through Alexa and it works perfectly.

Samsung did a great job on the setup routine. So far the hub works great. Looking forward to expanding the list of attached devices.
