So far OK, with a big complaint

BIG gripe is that the app wouldn't allow set up without doing a full location grab (it insisted on using my exact location - my home - instead of just letting me enter a zip code). Major pet peeve. There's just no valid reason for that, but again I've already opened everything, crawled around to run the LAN cable and power and get everything tidy.. this happens last in the app when your finally ready to try it out. Super lame invasion of privacy for zero reason.

If it disconnects or you change your Wifi in any way it will disconnect and good luck in trying to re-connect. If you have a power failure it will disconnect and you're back to step one. And good luck getting any help from Samsung Customer Support. I'm going to try to return this Hub to BestBuy and get another brand. If they don't accept my return on this garbage, I'll cut my losses and purchase another brand. The headaches are not worth the trouble. The Samsung Smartthings app is nice but, confusing and difficult to navigate. Both the Hib and the app are not for anyone that is not Tech inclined. I've been an apple use for years and I had been thinking about changing to a Galaxy phone next year; this Hub convinced me to stay with apple.

Great product
Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched over from wink to Samsung this is so much better and cheaper. I owned this little over six months ago so far it has worked flawlessly. Wink wants to charge you monthly fee for the service for the same thing. Great product Samsung.

Not worth the money or time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to keep track of our child while in camp. It was a huge disappointment. It has never worked correctly. Easy to hook up to the app though. It consistently went offline (which defeats the purpose of having it). It only worked properly when we were at home. I contacted Samsung only to be told to go online and look up the issue I had...which was never one of the questions asked nor answered online. SO....I will be returning it.

Would be amazing, if it worked

But it constantly drops, losses connection, or does random updates and takes itself offline. The worst part is, its takes 30 minutes to come back only. Whenever they make it work 99% off the time, it will be awesome

Unreliable with z wave

When it’s reset say through a firmware update that you have no control over your z wave devices become disconnected requiring you to uninstall your z wave device then add it back and go through all the joyful configuration again. It’s even more fun when your device is something like a door lock because then you have to remove it from your door and carry it all the way to your smart hub because if you unplug your smart hub it probably won’t reconnect with your device again. Serious waste of time.

Wifi connection problem. It will not reconnect!

I used wifi connection and I unplugged it because I wanted to move it closer to the device. However, the blue light keeps blinking and it will never connect to wifi again. Then I tried Factory Reset, which is another nightmare that is not even worth to talk about. Don't buy it if you want to use wifi connection!

It didn’t work as I thought it was.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Your hub worked about 4 months ago, I’m not sure when the firmware was updated, I’m guessing that is why your hub didn’t work. 3 month I used the iCloud backup for iPad and iPhone to make your hub to work, but I can’t edited rules, add any favorites see the bats on any Firbaro motions sensors or see my Arlo cams. Strange that iPad and iPhone had differed email address. Some of your smart lights work.

HORRIBLE piece of JUNK & WORST customer service

Harmony NO. Arlo No. Alexa NO. Denon Receiver NO. To add insult to injury, customer service had a 45 minute hold time only to be told that someone will call back in 24-72 hours. This product is a joke. HEED MY WARNING AND DON'T BUY.

Please make sure that you set up the devices in the new SmartThings app (one with a circle in the center and 5 circles around it) since you have the latest V3 hub. Please note that some 3rd party products connect to the SmartThings Hub over the Local Area Network (LAN) while others connect to the SmartThings cloud through the 3rd party's cloud (cloud-to-cloud) integration. If you email us via [email protected] with your ticket number or issue details, we will get back to you as soon as possible. Not worth the money

Within 6 months, they decided to rollout a new and better app. Starting having app issues and devices not working. Within a year, they totally stopped supporting their own Samsung cameras. There are way better hubs out there. Don’t waste your time or money.
