Connects to both my MacBook and IPad Pro 11 via USB-C with no issue and encrypted. I wish it would have came with a little carrying case but overall I am very please with the performance of this device. Fits perfectly in my Incase bag along with my other accessories. I highly recommend this device if you are in the Apple Ecosystem.

It seems faster than my other back up HDs and without the risk factors associated with spinning platters. Spec-wise, this beats out many offerings that advertise supper high transfer rates then must note it’s not USB 3.2 (only 3.1 or 3 first gen) and was less pricey. It does not matter much of the time because the equipment can’t reach those speeds but if it can, why not maximize the fullest possible potential. Con: I wish there was a way to monitor the read/write speed but it’s definitely not slower. I just want to make sure I’m getting the full potential out of my system.

Love the Samsung T-7 (and the T-5)

I keep both of them up-to-date so I now have two back up drives and I could fit them both in my pocket. Samsung HD's are not yet able to be used as Bootable Back up's for the newest Mac OS, Big Sur, but they expect to come out with the bootable one for Big Sur in the near future.

I bought another external hard drive first and it ended up not being compatible. This one worked fine. Happy with the purchase and a decent price. It also shipped quickly which is why I went with Bestbuy.

The Samsung T7 is small with lots of packing memory. I NOW have two units for back up of my information just incase one hard drive goes wrong I still have another back up. The price to pay for the two hard drives is so much cheaper than to send out for recovery services.

Perfect for small video projects

My system says it can hold up to three hours of HD video, which is plenty for my application. I'm not using the encryption functionality so I can't talk about how well that works or how easy it is to use.

However, it really is fast. With no parts inside to wear out and breakdown dish should last a long time. Great storage option. Stay away from pay cloud services is they may not last.
