I purchased this drive from BestBuy in May of 2023. I've now had the drive for a year and four months. Yesterday, it began to fail. So to start off, the read/write on this drive is advertised as 1GB (1000 MB) and most I would get from BlackMagic's Disk Speed Test was around 500MB, which was unfortunate, but I had the drive and used it. I plugged it in yesterday, and it wouldn't mount. I couldn't repair it on my MacBook. Thankfully, a friend suggested connecting it to another Mac, which I was able to do, and the drive mounted. I was able to transfer files off, but it could not be repaired. It's no longer writable. I hope all my files are fine, but I won't know till I try to use them. This was very disappointing. I'm currently using the Samsung T7 Black 2TB drive from a client as my working drive now. I have two other Samsung drives. This one giving out makes me concerned about purchasing any more Samsung T7's which is TERRIBLE because they were a great option for my camera storage. Just to give all buyers a heads-up, this drive was regularly $349.99 at the time I purchased it. It was on sale for $219.99. And it is now currently $319.99 (was $499.99), which is a big jump. Not sure if lower price means "bad batch," but that was the case with the SanDisk Extreme Portable 4TB SSDs a year or so back. Even if it's not, this price jump on the Samsung T& Shield 4TB is really predatory for Samsung.

The product always works well it’s a good price sometimes that the ads they have they don’t honor but I still purchase it because it’s good quality but they should honor their ads

Amazing transfer rates. Samsung SSD Drives are very impressive. I have been using them for several years in my desktops and laptops. So I knew the quality I was getting. I now own two of these drives.

So Fast!! I bought this when it was on sale so it was the same price as the regular rugged hard drives ... I will only buy these from now on. worth the higher price tag for the speed

This is one of many Samsung SSD I have gotten. They're efficient and good quality. Definitely great value for the price! So far, they have been very reliable.

I wanted an SSD to use for my Steam library, and I felt this was nicely priced for the size (2 TB). So far, everything is working quite well and my games are loading much faster now.

Sleek design with a durable shell. The Samsung software needed to encrypt the device is easy to install but could confuse first time users as its interface is a bit dated.

Great product. Can’t wait to use it. I am organizing over 50 years of photos!!!

Fast secondary mobile storage, great for backups, have not tested it for external game/application install uses yet.

Using for back up of photos. To say it puts my old one to shame is an understatement. Usb-c and ssd make for a back up speed at least 10x faster than my old one.

Couldn’t believe the deal I got on this! Samsung solid states are my favorite. I owned one of these already but was running out of space so I purchased another. Works very fast!

Excellent and fast. Plug and Play, no setup to speak of it just worked at once after plugging it in. I'm very satisfied with the performance and the price was on point.

I’ve been using the standard version of these drives for quite a while. Having the ruggedized version is probably a better plan based on my cuteness.

I use this device for carrying my music when i dj at gigs and it has not failed. The only recommendation i have is still make sure you have a back up!!

Good speeds and rugged design, it’s not the fastest drive around but it has really good transfer speeds and the casing helps with heat, it barely gets warm under heavy transfers.

Great buy if found on sale or price matched. Pairs nicely with my ps5 and havent had any problems and ive had it for months.

I have been using Samsung External SSD's for several years now. I run VM's off them as well as business data. Have not had an issue with any of those drives!
