Bought first one three years ago for my basement sump pump that never shuts off during spring melt and fall rains. Just a week ago I get a message that the sump pump area is wet. Have in been mulling around in that area of the basement earlier in the day I had accidentally bumped the cord and unknowingly unplugged it! Saved me from a flooded basement!

I had to replace my toilet because it was leaking and it damaged a few other thing. I got this to let me know if it leaks again. I was unaware of a few other features like what's in the picture below

This is an excellent addition to your smart-home. If you already have Samsung Smart-things hub. I bought it because we had a water leak under sink so now I want to be sure that I will be immediately informed if anything happened again

I zip-tied one of these to my sump pump pipe and set it up to text me if it detects water. About a month ago, I received one of the texts I set it up to notify me with. Luckily some water had just splashed somehow and hit the sensor, but it showed me that the setup works as intended. These sensors also record temperature and you can use that to create other triggers for automation. Cons: Is not easily mounted on things, no mounting hardware. Pros: Battery life, small, super easy setup, dependable, senses on both sides of the sensor.

I wanted a water sensor for our basement that would notify me on my phone. After reviewing a number of systems, I decided that this one was compact, offered moisture sensing on the base as well as an indented part in the top that can collect water in case there is not enough on the floor. The SmartThings system is easy to set up, easy to monitor and lets you know when the batteries run low on sensors. I liked the system so much that I purchased other devices to add on to my system and a year+ later, it is still working great!

I have a SmartThings hub. It took the usual amount of time to be discovered. Once it was in my system it automatically sent me an alert and a text when it got 'wet'. I just touched the contacts on the bottom for a few seconds to get it to sense that it was wet. It went dry within a minute or so after I removed my fingers. I can't figure out how to get my Amazon Echo to recognize it. It would be nice to get an alert on that if it gets wet.

Can detect leaks dripping from above and below. Adding this version of the water sensor using the new app is faster because you can take a picture of the QR code on the back and avoid that nonsense of trying to detect it. Plus manually adding the device allows you to pick the hub you want to use if you have more than one hub at your location. They also made the action button accessible from the outside inside of having to open it. The only bad thing is that you can't get a report of which sensor was triggered (top or bottom) either one goes and you will get an alert.

After buying into the SmartThings system and finding we had a defective water heater that leaked over our basement, I knew picking up a few of these was what I needed to do. I installed one by our new water heater, under our kitchen sink, behind our dishwasher, and our washer. Sure enough after having a major kitchen remodel done, I got an alert that there was a leak under our kitchen sink. My wife went home to check on it and a hose was leaking directly on it. Because we got the alert soon enough, we were able to fix the leak and cleanup the small amount of water before there was a problem.

After my old dishwasher leaked in a hidden manner and did a fair bit of damage to drywall and caused some mold to develop that I had to remediate, I decided I needed a solution to ensure this did not happen again. I decided to get a number of these sensors, including one for under the dishwasher. It's a bit thick, but it would fit there if I needed it to. For the dishwasher in particular, however, I converted one of the sensors to a perimeter sensor; I soldered two wires to the contacts on the top of this sensor and ran them around the rear and sides of the dishwasher, ensuring the wires don't touch one another. Now, if water puddles anywhere around the new dishwasher, this will detect it. I plan to do the same thing to extend the reach of the sensors I have near my clothes washer, water heater, and HVAC systems. Additionally, I placed a number of these under each of my sinks, to detect leaks there, and finally one in my crawlspace beneath my kitchen, in case any leak occurs there and doesn't trigger the sensor under the kitchen sink and dishwasher, as well as if any drain/waste piping develops a leak. One of my sensors have already picked up a valid, though non-issue, leak due to some wet clothes dripping on the floor and the water meandering under the machine and tripping the sensor. Overall, these sensors provide ample peace of mind that I am very unlikely to have a water issue crop up unknown and cause hidden damage in the future. If I could change one thing, I would like there to be an optional leak detection cable that could be easily connected to these, rather than needing to jury-rig one as I did for my dishwasher.

Great water leak sensor! It has detectors both on the bottom of the unit (puddles) as well as on top (drip sensor). The tiniest amount of water is needed for it to detect water--it already saved me from extensive damage and the nuisance of a big cleanup of a failed water heater. So, I got more to put near the dishwasher, in the laundry and under the remaining sink. Battery life has been good too.

I got the Samsung water leak sensor as a free add on when I bought my Samsung SmartThings hub. I otherwise would never have thought about getting this sensor. It was very easy to set up in the SmartThings app. I tested it by placed it in a shallow dish with water and it immediately sent a notification to my iPhone. I have placed the sensor on the floor near my water heater and washer/dryer. It's good to know I'll be notified in case there are any water leaks.

I had one of these under my kitchen sink. I had no idea the hose for the retractable faucet had been leaking down inside the cabinet. This water leak sensor quickly notified me via Smartthings and I was able to mitigate the leak quickly. Saved me from what could have been tons of cabinet and hard wood floor damage! We are getting more for other areas of the home.

I bought this item because we had a water line burst in our basement storage area and we had no idea that it had happened until my wife went to look for some items we had stored there. Needless to say, it was quite an expensive issue to resolve. This water leak sensor is small and easy to set up to get notifications if there is ever a leak again. Highly recommended.

I bought a couple of these to place in my laundry room, sump pump and hot water tank. Twice in the past I have had water leaks that damaged flooring and carpet. With these, that is now a thing of the past. They are great easy to configure and are small enough to place just about anywhere. Highly recommended

Great, cheap little sensors, the batteries last forever. It's almost impossible to buy them now, but Aeotec is apparently going to start manufacturing them under their brand name. I hope they keep the same price because these are the best value zigbee water sensors out there

I have this as part of my Samsung SmartThings system. My basement sometimes floods. I have this sensor in the basement, set to turn on a lamp connected to the smart things outlet. It is easy to set up, works well, and saves me trips into the basement. I bought more to place under sinks. If you already own the SmartHings hub, it is well worth the money.

I bought this after discovering our dishwasher had been leaking for some time, damaging the wood floor underneath. Had I had this before, I would've caught it immediately. This unit works well and Ive tested the water detection with no issues at all. Battery life is excellent as well.

Not hard to set up, and will detect water on the floor, or water that is sprayed, or dripped on top of it. Water damage obviously can be costly, so I think this is cheap insurance, and have them throughout my home in every location where water leaks are possible. I plan to add a controllable water shut off valve to the house so that these sensors can not only detect, but shut off the water even if I'm away.
