Works great. I recently purchased a different model that was DOA but this one worked perfectly. I am not sure how fast it transfers because I was transferring large amounts of data between two external drives but it still worked well with no errors.

It’s really good if you don’t accidentally drop it. I mean not even a love tap or else it starts acting broken. Dosnt wanna transfer stuff dosnt wanna do anything and then it removes its self

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to download any single picture on this,even I did all troubleshooting and reformatting still not working as I wanted. First plug and play not ready otherwise I would have rated differently after several attempts to move , copy drag or download something to it . Started to work and it took like 15 hrs for 9k pics just to figure out that the folder was corrupted and started again for other 13 hrs and supposedly finished to find out that the folder was empty. I’m calling for savvy support, wish me good luck otherwise returning it to the store, sorry seagate

I didn't get a chance to try this drive. I was malfunctioning out of the box. I could hear the driving making a chunking sound, obviously not spinning properly. Returned and got my money back

Purchased it in Feb 2023. It then failed. When connected to power and computer, hard drive begins to spin but shuts down in few seconds with 2 beeps. Not sure how to recover my data

Tried to do a full backup of my PC c-drive, and it keeps failing around 70% with disk Error. however it was past the return period so I am stuck with a dud. reformatted etc and still no luck

Unfortunately this did not work. Had to return it. The return was easy, I was refunded without question!

I got it on November 17, tested it on November 18. It was slow to recognize (10 seconds) and it made some sounds like a small mouse would make. I transferred about 500GB no problem. Then I tried to transfer another 100GB, but my window's stopped recognizing it. It made a sound in windows when I connect the USB, but nothing showed up on "My Computers". It didn't recognize it even after waiting for 5 minutes. The speed was at most 125MB/s I tried different USB ports, I tried using a different USB and power cord from another seagate external harddrive. But still didn't recognize. LUCKILY, I never delete data right after a transfer, especially when dealing with a new external harddrive. Otherwise +500GB of data would've been gone. I just got an exchange from a best buy store to see if a 2nd one works out better. 2nd one is more snappy, recognized within 5 seconds after plugging it in. The speed for this one, when transferring the same files, was much higher, topping off at 225MB/s. I hope it works out better, but having one failed on the first day is gonna make me worry about its long term reliability. This is the first review I wrote on best buy.. not sure if I can do a followup review a month or so from now (bought it during holiday time and return policy is up to mid january). If something does happen, I hope its during that time frame and not a few months later. But yeah, I am giving it another chance with an exchange. I will recommend it just because its cheap at 180USD for 14TB. Like I said, I will give it another chance.

Definitely the best external HDD I've ever purchased. When shake (gently), this is the first external I've bought that you did NOT hear the actual hard drive inside the case, moving around. Solid build.

I returned the WD D-10 because it kept intermittently sleeping between 30 seconds to a few minutes which couldn't be fixed even in the terminal on my M1 mini. i know its been a long debate between WD and Seagate but from my experiences Seagate has brought me the least amount of issues. I got the 8 tb and have dumped about 5tb of movies on it. no delays at all.

I like the size; it doesn't t take up much room on my desk. Easy to install.
