This is my first robot vacuum, and after some initial confusion, I love it. The biggest issue I had in setup was ensuring I got all of the numerous stickers off everything. Once that was done, setting up the vacuum and the app went flawlessly. I was even able to name it! I didn't understand what was going on initially, as it felt like the vacuum was in a constant state of probing. Part of the issue was that for various reasons we had to send Bullet (our bot's name) back to the Dock. Once when doing so via the app he refused to return, but using the button on the vacuum worked without issue. Once allowed to map everything out, Bullet started following the schedule I setup. In my case, 800+ sq ft of hardwood. It takes about 5 hrs for us, due to the need for Bullet to return to the dock for a charge during the cleaning cycle. Bullet has done a great job of keeping the floor generally clean, especially with multiple cats and kids. We've stopped doing it more then MAYBE once a week manually since he started. Emptying the dock is easy. Using the app is easy. Just make sure you have cords tucked away as best you can, and in general just keep 'stuff' off the floor (pairs of shoes, clothes, whatever). Climbing over rugs without issue.

Did not like it! It skipped areas. According to the instructions it’s has a straight line path which is not true. I spent more time looking for it!

What good is a vacuum that you cant set a schedule for? Sure, it has the capability, but the "Error 2" issue prevents it from running regularly. And trust me, without being there to continually fix the side brush that doesn't move, its useless. Do your research. run a web search for "Shark Error 2" and you will see how wide spread this issue is. a lot of "hacks" and temporary fixes, but nothing that works permanently. Avoid Shark Robot Vacuums.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review on the Shark EZ Robot Vacuum. We regret to hear that the Robot is not performing as expected. Your robot may still be discovering your home, for best results ensure the areas are well lit, all doors are opened, and any cords or obstacles are picked up from the floor. While your robot is cleaning, do not pick it up or move it to a new location and ensure the dock has the required space of 3ft. on each side and 5ft. in front If the issue continues we would be happy to assist you, our Robot Specialists are available at 1-888-228-5531 Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm EST, as well as Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.

    An Effective Little Cleaner

The Shark RV912S Robot Vacuum is a powerful little vacuum that I have really come to love in my time with it. While this isn’t the first robot vacuum I have used, it is easily my favorite, and that is down to a few small but notable improvements that make life easier. Firstly, the mini trash can on the dock that the vacuum self-fills is very nice. It is said to hold up to 15 days of dirt, and I’d believe it. Basically, this means the level of manual interaction you need to perform is very little, essentially limited to emptying the bin every couple of weeks if you want. The vacuum will simply perform its route based on your room, then load into the bin when it is full/done. The vacuum works in straight lines, basically meaning that it will go back and forth in a straight line as much as possible until it hits an obstacle to move around. I observed it do one floor of our tri-level, and it didn’t miss a spot. Likewise, while you can set-up barriers to tag areas you don’t want the vacuum to go in, I found it actually did a great job of not sucking cords, and going under our dining room table without getting stuck. Yes it bounces around a bit, but I never needed to intervene. The only two times I had to help it was when it once cut a turn too wide and one of the wheels went off the top step of some stairs, so it couldn’t lift itself back off, and once when it got stuck on the corner of a railing. However, both of these only happened once, and have yet to happen since, with most runs completing without issue. There is no pre-mapping your room or needing to worry about moving furniture, it just works really well. Likewise, you can use the app to manage the cleaning schedule, as well as the usual amenities that would come with a robot vacuum. Honestly, I have very little to complain about here. It just works, and does so well. This being said, if I did have one complaint, it would be the overall cleaning power of the vacuum. For deeper dirt/grime, it may take a couple of passes to fully clean our floor. We have mostly hardwood with some carpet, and while it does fine with things like dog fur and dirt, it did struggle a bit with some bigger patches of dirt that had been dragged in the front door. However, when it did a second run, it managed to get everything, and so while I wouldn’t expect the power of a dedicated powered vacuum, the robot does a good job of maintenance if run on a regular schedule. In the end, I really like this product, and would love one for every floor of our house. It helps make maintenance easier, and does a good job of making sure your floors don’t get bogged down with dirt and grime. It moves between different floor types with ease, and requires very little manual intervention to make work. It just does its job really really well.

I live in a 2 bedroom / 2 bath apartment and this vacuum is perfect for me. It does a great job cleaning my apartment with very little effort on my part. This robot vacuum is simple to set up. Plug in the base, put the vacuum on top of the dock so it charges, and you’re good to go. When you’re ready to clean, no programming or mapping of the room, just hit the “clean” button and it will do everything for you. The app makes using the robot vacuum even easier to use. From the app one can initiate cleaning, create a schedule for cleaning, or look at cleaning history to see the last time the area was vacuumed. The power of the vacuum was impressive. The first time I ran it, its suction power picked up a full load before running out of battery—it had to return to the station to dump and it kept going. One thing I really appreciated about this vacuum is that it was able to avoid getting stuck. It learns from its movements to avoid obstacles after doing so. Overall, this vacuum is great, truly a set it and forget it appliance.

Like its AI sibling, this one leaves more to be desired. Given that this is cheap, but a lot of previous generation robots can outclean the ez robot. It isn't a compelling product compared to the competition. I mean, other than the bagless design, what else is there to want? Lack of automation. Lack of real world suction to pickup dirt. And just the inability to do a thorough cleaning.

I wish I could say this is awesome but it’s not, the added feature of a self empting unit isn’t worth and extra $200. Moreover it picked up my puppies accident and spread it all over my dining room rug. Doesn’t have great suction and seems to easily go in circles after a few months of once daily scheduled cleaning

This is the worst purchase I have ever made. I have had this vacuum 4 months and it has continuously needed reset due to errors. We have all hardwood floors and it faults in the middle of the floor daily. We have an iRobot that has been going for over 5 years, I recommend buying that brand.

Love the docking station that empties the robot. It is super easy to schedule and let the robot run then empty the dustbin every couple weeks. Only feature I wish it had would be mapping, where the robot maps the house, and you can send it to a zone to spot vacuum / block off. The vacuum works really well and I am happy with the features that it has.

Vacuum is easy to setup and use. There is a QR code on the QuickStart guide to download the app. After setup, it is recommended to charge for 6 hours. After charging is complete the bot can be scheduled to clean at different times / days. The dust bin is pretty large, but can get filled quickly with pet hair. The recommended emptying is every 15 days, but this could stretch or shrink depending on pet shedding. The brush/roller did not get tangled up with pet hair, but had only run a couple times. This runs great in hard surfaces and beats running a swiffer or stick vacuum. One thing that this unit does not do is room mapping. My previous experience with higher end robot vacuums that connect to WiFi is that they will map the rooms they vaccum in and you can control where they go with that mapping. This unit relies on control strips to block off areas. I am happy with this device overall.
