First things first: once you take it out of the package, don't throw away the box. It is the best place to store it when not in use. With that out of the way, I absolutely love this. My season starts from end of spring and it is late fall now and I am in the middle of the off-season. My training sessions are at a halt but I did a session just to see how the boots work and have been really impressed. If you are into genuine workouts and/or sports activities and feel like the legs need respite after a hard day, this is definitely for you. For me it is always the ankles and then the rest and the compression provided for a tired pair of ankles is well worth the entry fee for this show. The package is of medium size and the product comes with the control panel that has toggle switches and you do the connection with the compression connector and switch the panel on. Remember to put on the books first and to zip it appropriately. The provided (very minimal) handbook is helpful. The only problem I had was trying to figure out which one was the left and which one was a the right boot. It says on the handbook that this difference is clearly marked out but I could not find the demarcation. In my experience, you cannot really go wrong with the selection per se as it works the same even if you switch it. I have kept the panel on the right and have tried both the combinations and it was not a problem. Just find a place to keep your back straight (maybe a wall) or a sofa recliner will work as well. You can toggle through the various modes and zones using the panel. I tried all the modes and also focused on specific zones as I needed to and everything was so relaxing and recuperating. It never got too uncomfortable even when you increased the pressure. There is an automatic timer for 10 minutes at each setting but you can increase it according to your wishes. The handbook does not say the maximum time you can use it but I have not gone beyond 20 minutes per session just to be on the safer side. The muscles do feel better during and after the session. There is no massage function in this one but the compression just feels on point and wonderful. Overall, I have been very impressed and would like to highly recommend the pair of boots. Just remember to order the correct in-seam length.

In high school I placed on the baseball team & I was on the wrestling team too. One of the things I loved to do was wrestle during tournaments & to play baseball games and play in baseball tournaments. One of the things I absolutely always hated was working out. My body was naturally fairly thin & muscular, with a nice muscle tone. But I absolutely, positively, without a doubt, hating working out. The results I got were great, but I didn't like the pain of working out. And that is pretty crazy because I have an insanely high pain threshold. I can take a large amount of pain. I just didn't like being sore, achy and just feeling not 100%. About 2 weeks ago I received the Sharper Image Powerboost Boots & do I thought I'd give them a try by working out in our home gym (mostly for my SO and my kids but now I've graced it for the first time in a very long time). A week before they arrived I did a workout and just to see what I would feel like. I was sore for about 4 days after the workout. So the Powerboost Boots arrive a week later & I decided to do the same workout. This time around my recovery time was 2-3 days and my soreness was gone. I believe it is attributed to the boots but I am now going to take a full month off and then use the boots just to confirm. However, if this is the case then I must say these are a win for me! My SO's mother had ankle replacement surgery over a year ago & is still struggling with her foot going numb and her having to rest after extended periods of being on her feet. I am going to let her try the Powerboost Boots as well and see how they make her feel after using them. If she feels as good as I do after using them then we are going to be getting her a pair this Christmas! So far I like these and I hope they serve us well in our gym setup!

I'm a disabled Army Vet and running was pretty much required when I was in (granted that was almost 20 years ago now). Needless to say, 5am physical training has not been a regular part of my workout regimen for a while so I have been gradually trying to get back into shape. My goal is not to get back into military shape, but at least get my grown man sexy back. LOL. I have set a personal goal to run a half-marathon next year and maybe a full marathon within the next two years. I prefer running outdoors on trails and parks, but its nearly winter here in Ohio so those options are not going to work well for me with upcoming snow and low wind chills. I have been hitting the treadmill and elliptical instead. I’ve been doing roughly an hour per day on increasing levels of difficulty and with my knee pain, I’m looking for ways to help recover quickly and keep my motivation to run. These boots have come in handy right from the start. There are several options to fit your recovery needs. I normally set mine to pulse mode and it runs on its on for about 10 minutes. I also like the gradual and zones modes. The compression is perfect and I’ve noticed an increase in my recovery. I normally do a post run stretch, grab some water and then put the boots on. I normally do it twice. Once on pulse and then the other on the zones mode so I can focus more on the areas that I know will cause me some pain or discomfort later. I’ve been using them for about a week and I actually really enjoy them. The only thing that would be better is a pair of massaging boots, but that may be a future purchase as Sharper Image does offer them. It’s important to make sure that your pants inseam is between 25”-31” or these may not work as well for you.

These boots might be some of the best post workout gear I've ever used. They have made my post run recovery exponentially better and are dead some to use. These boots can be used with both or one at a time and offer five zones of pressure on each boot. They have several different pressure functions ranging from pulse to gradual or even allow you to pressurize individual zones. The adjustable pressure allows complete control all the way from a gentle squeeze to an intense pressure. I used these after several runs and immediately felt relief as soon as I took the boots off. The relaxation and relief that I felt in my legs was like no other device ive used for post workout recovery. I know there are other boots that offer different features like heat and infrared light. But after using these and feeling the immediate difference in soarness and fatigue, I can't imagine recommending anything more expensive than this. Overall I have no complaints about these boots. They are simple, work well and provide exactly what the advertise.

I am an amateur runner/jogger and bicyclist with a leg swelling problem - The price to pay for weight loss happening with exercise that can sometimes cause theee adverse effects. I’ve been to PT where they recommended taping, compression stockings when running, and lymphatic massage. These boots provide an amazing and affordable way to have the latter that doubles as a fast recovery solution that eliminates soreness and stiffness post workout or even long days on my feet. I wasn’t sure at first about Sharper Image but these are extremely well constructed, and compared my my medical grade compression therapy boots, these fill faster, have better cycles for redirecting circulation, and work more quickly than my comparison products. They also store in a more compact way - I am able to store them in a small snap-lid container under and end table for easy access to a compression-session (my term) anytime I want to really relax. All in all I’d recommend these to anyone with lower extremity soreness, stiffness, or swelling post workouts. The clinical solutions are great, but for minor issues (and even as a compact/fast acting solution) these work great!

The Sharper Image PowerBoost Boots are an excellent product for individuals who do a lot of running and cycling. I run and cycle on hills quite often, covering about 5–8 miles every other day. Setting up the PowerBoost Boots is very straightforward. Just make sure they are properly adjusted and that you fall within the recommended inseam range. The set I reviewed is designed for an inseam of 26"–31". My inseam is 30", and I was able to set them up and adjust them without any issues. The boots feel slightly bulky, but that’s expected given the nature of the device, as it uses air compression technology. I do wish the product included heat and massage features. Now in my early 40s, my ankles and legs tend to get sore more easily the day after a run or ride. While the PowerBoost Boots work well, I can’t understand why Sharper Image didn’t include these additional functions. With the range of features available in similar products, it seems like a missed opportunity to go the extra mile. Overall, this is a good product, though it lacks some features that would have made it truly exceptional in its current iteration. This product is especially helpful if you’re active in sports and experience soreness the next day (looking at you, indoor soccer players!). One more thing to consider: I believe this device could be beneficial for people with neuropathy. It significantly improves circulation in the legs. Having dealt with neuropathy for about seven years, I can say this device definitely provides me with some relief.
