With the Sonos One, the new smart speaker available at Best Buy, I can keep the music flowing without much effort on my part. It comes with Amazon Alexa built in, so I can control what I listen to with my voice – hands free! A great thing about this pairing is that Alexa responds to commands from any voice. My kids or guests can control the music they hear.
Along with music, the Sonos One also allows you to check traffic and the latest news. You can even ask it simple questions and get your answer within seconds. This works great in the kitchen to convert measurements for recipes. The single speaker offers all of the features of Amazon Alexa, which I think is making lives easier by the day. Using the Sonos mobile apps, I can manage all of my music streaming services in one place. It works with Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, IHeartRadio, and more. No matter what streaming service you like best, Sonos has you covered. Don’t like the song that’s playing? Simply tell the Sonos One to skip to the next song!

Bought a second one and will add a third. Sounds great, Alexa works great with it, works well with my legacy Sonos gear, no complaints at all. Nice looking too.

I had received one of these as a gift and purchased a second so I could have them set up in the same room as separate stereo speakers. The SONOS app is very helpful including Alexa integration. I have read that it doesn't have all of the Alexa skills but ones I commonly use are there including the ability to turn on/off lights and a TV. The best thing about these speakers is the clarity of sound. Poorer quality speakers that have strong lows sometimes muffle the midrange and/or the highs. With these speakers, the bass is clear and strong but does not overwhelm the rest of the sound. It makes for a clear, distinct sound. Also these speakers sound much bigger than they are. This is great for spaces where there is no room for big floor-standing speakers but you need good sound quality. They also seem to not distort at higher volumes. If you use the IOS Sonos app, you can tune the speakers for the room. Sonos did a great job putting quality sound in a small space. One criticism is that it won't integrate with an Echo multi-room setup. Maybe that will come with future firmware revisions. Also, supposedly Google Home integration is on the way. Five stars.

Sonos One Speaker Making Life Easy

I was surprised at how easy this was to set up and use. I'm able to check the weather or traffic before going out but my favorite feature is that we connected it to our other speakers and we have the same music playing throughout the house. It's great to be able to control the Sonos One by just my voice so if my hands are full, I can give a voice command to lower or higher the music. So great for parties too!

If you're a music lover, I highly and genuinely recommend the Sonos One smart speaker with built-in Alexa. I’ve been using the Sonos One for a couple of weeks now and I’m still in awe of how good the sound is. My playlist is pretty eclectic, and it handles every song like a champ. Whether I’m rocking out, dropping some dubstep beats, or chilling to classical music, every musical subtlety is clear and vibrant.

The speaker has a clean clear sound. Base is adequate and not overwhelming. The design is clean and modern. Build quality is excellent. Setup using the Sonos app was a breeze. Cannot speak to the AI built in for I do not use it.

Good Sound but Major Flaw w/ Amazon Music

I purchased to replace a first generation Amazon Echo that I mainly use to play music, control a few devices, maintain a shopping list and to assist with measurements and questions around the kitchen.
First the positive, the Sonos, as expected, has very good sound, especially when compared to the original Echo. It has good bass and clarity for its size. The initial setup, while a little convoluted with having to jump between apps, was fairly straight forward, just make sure to follow the directions exactly. After the setup, Alexa was working fine, controlling my Philips Hue lights, Wemo switches, Nest thermostat, Logitech Harmony. Everything worked, much to my relief given some of the issues noted in other reviews.
My main use is to play music via Amazon Music, which typically is a great experience with Alexa. However, this is where my problems began. I asked Alexa to play my music and it started playing, but then it stopped after one song. I tried again and again, it stopped after one or two songs. After experimenting, I has several issues with playing via Alexa on Amazon Music. Sometimes, it would stop after one, two or three songs, sometimes it would try to play and I hear a little static, and then nothing, sometimes in transition, it cuts the song short and jumps to next song, but always, never plays more than a few songs when Alexa is used to start the music. I initially set it up on wifi, but then switched to ethernet in case it was interference, but that didn't solve it. I saw in the Sonos community forum that removing the device and Sonos skill and adding back resolved it for some, but not everyone and it didn't work for me. This was also a bit confusing given the Amazon Alexa did not allow me to remove the device and I had to use a browser. I also tried a factory reset, but the problem still persisted. I tried resetting my router, but that didn't help either. Next I also tried playing Amazon Music through the Sonos app and it works just fine, it only has problems when it's started by Alexa. I tried streaming from iHeart Radio and Pandora via Alexa and those seem to also work just fine. It's only Amazon Music that won't work correctly with Alexa. Looking on the forums, it seems to be a common problem. Given it's Amazon Music, hard to say if it's a Sonos problem or an Amazon problem. I'm hoping there's a quick software fix, else will need to decide whether to return and go back to the Echo or perhaps an Echo Dot connected to a good speaker.

I am impressed on how this smart speaker works. There is no comparison to an Echo, because it's meant to be more than just an assistant. Pairing two Sonos One speakers together for stereo option is an awesome idea, and I can turn the whole thing into a surround system for my TV. I did a full review on Geekazine, and impressed with sound, the 6 microphones to pick up your voice, and really excited to see Sonos get Google Assistant and Siri functionality in 2018. The best is yet to come.

Great sound from such a small speaker. When you pair with other sonos products it makes for a great whole home system. With the intergtation of amazons Alexa it makes it even better to own sonos play 1.

I was originally intending on buying Amazon Echo- Sonos was recommended to me by a friend and when I got to Best Buy- another customer saw I was comparing Sonos to Echo he highly recommended Sonos. I purchased 2 at that time- got them home and set them up ( super easy) and then went back out to get a third one. The sound is amazing and they are easy use and set up. They also look nice! I am going back out today to buy a fourth one! The sound carries and travels well- we just have a long house which is also 2 stories and I want sound throughout the whole house!

If you want a good speaker with Amazon Alexa built in then the Sonos One (not Play:1) is for you. It responds to voice commands and also will work with other echo Alexa products (echo dot etc).
The only problem I found was you can’t combine a Sonos Play:1 and a Sonos One together on a stereo sound combo.
Sonos advised me they may be working to fix that issue and because of that I gave it only a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star rating.
I love my Sonos system and strongly recommend it to anyone willing to spend the bucks. It really is worth the price.

Set up and wifi connection were easy. Only difficulty was "fine tuning" which involved waving my iPhone around in circles as the speaker tuned to the space. We placed the speaker in a loft overlooking a great room and never successfully completed fine tuning for the space. However, it's a great sound and the speaker is very inconspicuous. I wonder how much better it might sound?

Sonos is an amazing product. And now that Echo has been integrated into it it’s great. Though it’s still in it’s early stages so there are glitches which I’m sure will be taken care of. If you want a Sonos system and you are thinking of getting an Echo definitely go this route. More streamlined and works well. Though some features like calling are not available (yet) on the speaker. If you already have both and look to add or replace a speaker with this one then it may not be worth It. I saw no gain from replacing one of my speakers with this one. So I returned it. I wish this would have been out before though because then I would have kept for sure.

There are several good wireless speaker options but Sonos stands above the rest. Sound is good but so is Bose and others. What sets it apart is the continued software/app enhancements. Sonos incorporates all the top music services and their ease of use is second to none. Now with the newly added ability to control Sonos with your voice through Alexa listening to music has never been easier plus you get all the normal Alexa features without an additional device (Echo or Dot).
I liked the first one so much I bought a second!
Highly Recommend!

I have a playbase, sub, and 2 ones (with Alexa). I advise setting these up one at a time with the sonos app first and second with the Alexa app, so you can name them for later identification. Ex. Set up a playbase or sound bar first in sonos app, then set it up in the Alexa app. Continuing back and forth between apps until you set them all up.
I haven't owned the playbar, but the sound from the playbase alone is enough for surround sound. We played a surround sound test on it and it sounds amazing. It even has enough bass that you probably wouldn't need a sub, unless you prefer a lot of bass. The sub bass is ridiculous. I live in a house and we have it only half way up because it is so strong.
Pros:
Alexa enabled
Amazing sound quality
Appealing design
Plays music by voice (through Alexa) or the sonos app from amazon, spotify, and a lot more.
You can adjust music and surround sound to be softer or louder than other speakers.
The glitches can be updated to fix them.
Cons:
Couldn't get pandora to link
Doesn't have all Alexa functioning
All speakers decrease volume when talking to any Amazon's Alexa devices that are linked in your Alexa app.
Setup is a little frustrating.
If not setup properly, speakers will intermittently cut out.
Have to buy special mounts for rear speakers (expensive).
The speakers themselves are quite expensive.
The playbase doesn't look right under a larger tv. (I set mine under my entertainment center).
Can't setup more than 4 speakers (base/bar, sub, and 2 rear speakers)
The app could be better with the layout.

One of the easiest setups I’ve done in awhile. Sonos is the real deal. Very easy to navigate the Sonos app and most importantly great sound! Only downfall is that Alexa isn’t as capable as with a regular echo device.
