I’m a Sony fan but this tv is on par with the one I purchased and still use from 2015. Same picture quality with the same low light/black contrast issues. I had a Samsung that was glitchy and I’m not a fan of Samsung but the picture on the Samsung was far superior to this. Wished I’d bright this back in the return window to get the newer mini LED version. Those look great where this is just average for 2015-2016 technology.

Not bad but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this tv would be a huge upgrade from the Vizio I bought in 2011 for $1000. The picture is brighter and more crisp but all fast action/motion is accompanied with noticeable pixelation surrounding the moving object. Dark images are visible but if it’s a night sky the different shades of darkness are very segmented/pixelated. My Vizio has a far superior overall viewing experience. The speakers on this tv are an incredible upgrade. I’ve only pushed the volume in the mid-50s to test the quality and this machine gets LOUD. I watch movies with the volume around 30 and end up turning it down for action scenes. It’s not a bad tv- but the pixilation/image quality compares to a lot of televisions $500 and under.

We're not sure what audio-video device or streaming application you are using when watching sports action videos/movies. However, you may try configuring various settings related to the TV display, especially the Motion settings which refines moving images and optimizes picture quality based on video content and see if it improves your overall viewing experience:
