Great Camera for a beginner into photography. It a good camera for photo than for video because of the no stabilization. But you can get a lense with stabilization built in and a gimbal

I love everything this camera has to offer, picture quality is phenomenal and it also records at 4K. The only downside I’ll have to say is that the battery could be better.

I love my Sony a6400, because for the price is a great camera, it have pretty much what I need for my work!. Easy to put in a Gimbal and at the same time super light and that’s one of the main reasons when I bought that camera because is so cool to be able to use in my water housing and make work so easy for the size and the performance!. 4k In video is so crispy and also if you need do an slow motion, the 1080X 120 frames is so cool!. And at the same time if you are and Sport photographer or does wild life photography, the 11 shots per second is amazing! Amazing crop sensor camera!.

I consider this the best camera for beginners, easy to use, Fast auto focus. The battery life is the downside of this camera, but still is a five stars.

This is a great intro to intermediate level camera if you are starting in photography but have some base level knowledge. If you are very beginning, maybe see if you can borrow a friends for while to see if you enjoy it. It is a lot of money to spend on something you do not already know you are wanting to commit to. As for the quality of the camera, it is great. Sigma has some good after market lenses if you eventually want to get more but do not want to break the bank.

Some of the features that should be simpler simply aren’t. There is a learning curve coming from a DSLR but the image quality is exceptional comparing them side by side. I compared the images from a Nikon 1dx with the exact same lenses and the image quality is exceptional and very compatible with different lenses with the many adapters out there for it. It lacks controls and versatility and it feels a little cheap at times. The electronic view finder is absolute trash compared to a mirror on a DSLR but the live view that actually displays exactly what the outcome will be is very very good. So it’s sort of a trade off. I love the images that come out of this and honestly while the 6600 does have some sort of in body stabilization and the a7riii has the higher resolution and more professional feel, unless you’re doing video I think the a6400 is sufficient even for shooting 4k.

has most features some older full frame cameras don't. Decent lenses to choose. Very light but powerful. The menu isn't the easiest to navigate.

Love it! It’s the most user friendly camera I’ve ever had

This purchase was a step-up from the A6000 for my wife and I. We are both musicians and TV personalities, so we are always needing photo's and video for social media and promotional material. The photo's are vibrant and crisp and the 4K video is technologically beautiful. Love all of the features and the mic input allows you to connect an external mic and beef up your audio signal. If you're looking for a high-tech camera, without the high-tech price, this is a fabulous choice.

With its flip-up screen, 4k video resolution and fantastic auto-focus, this makes a really nice vlogging camera. The main thing it's missing is in-body stabilization so make sure to get a lens that can do it. It has great features and for the price, this is a great camera!

Best apsc camera under $1k range, fast and lightweight

This is a high quality mirrorless camera for a beginner like me who is just starting out in sports photography. Comfortable build. The weather seal is nice. Overall, highly recommend

I've owned a NEX-6 for years. Loved the little camera. Fairly easy to get around on, and when in a rush the auto modes worked great. I find this is not the case for the 6400. Shooting at a live concert rehearsal, I found the auto modes brightened the image way too much. Fortunately, I had the time during the rehearsal to get good settings in manual mode and get some nice shots at the actual concert. Very pleased with shots of fireworks this July 4th as well. Once you realize that Sony's auto mode is a bit overdone (maybe it's just my camera?) and work the camera in manual mode, you'll have to weigh if it's right for you. Be aware, as many reviews I read attest, the Sony menu system is a learning experience. As for me, I love the camera, albeit I do wish the auto modes were tweaked better. I'm shooting with the 18-200 zoom and the 50/1.8. I'd recommend skipping the kit lens, as the one I have for the NEX-6 was never on the camera.

So far so good. Good camera size with decent image qualities. Easy to carry around, very useful for personal vlogging since you can flip the screen to you. The only con is this camera doesn't have OSS, but OSS lens is perfect for it.
