I got this camera for my wife after buying her the Canon Rebel T3i. We hated the Canon. It was difficult to use and took terrible pictures no matter what setting you chose. We even had a friend that is a die hard Canon user show us a few things and we still thought that it was an awful camera. This Sony is amazing! Easy to use, great color and photo quality, and the battery lasts forever. If you are a beginning photographer that values great pictures with amazing color than this is the camera for you.

This camera is a great value!!! I own a studio and am a photographer and let my new students try this camera out first. The ease of use is ideal for this application. They all are able to learn quickly and easily, it also serves as a great introduction to what dslr cameras have to offer! The picture quality, ease of use, and features are all teriffic and i recommened this camera for anyone who is looking for a beginner dslr! By the way my students typicaly make this camera their first. Oops i forgot to mention that the camera preforms remarkably in low lighting!!!

Works well in auto modes. Great special effects. Low light settins and 1080hd video performs well. Light weight and easy to use once you learn the menus. Always been a Sony man, got this to go along with my sony a700. Has a lot of special affects not on my 700.

Sony wants to compete with the big boys and they will with cameras like this. Very easy to use entry level Digital SLR. It feels and takes pictures like equipment twice the price. If you are not a brand snob you can't go wrong with this.

This is a great camera for someone that wants some of the ease of a point and shoot, but the added features and flexibility of a full-body high-end camera. Easy to use and learn. Great pictures

My first digital camera and what a joy to use. Easy, intuitive, and fantastic photos! Worked with my Minolta film camera lenses which is a great bonus. Loads of options for taking photos in a variety of situations and with a variety of effects. Love it!

I love my camera. I went to this from a mirrorless NEX Sony Camera. I love the easy to use buttons and features. Takes beautiful pictures, and it's a great camera for the price!!

Great DSLR that's simple to use and isn't expensive

If you're tired of having Canon and Nikon shoved down your throat, give Sony aka digital Minolta a try. Big sensor for richer imagery, better ease of use, snazzy accessories. I don't like that they switched from the hot shoe's original auto-lock feature for external accessories, but a reasonably priced sony conversion adapter solves that issue. Ok Sony, cut the check, lol.

I'm just a beginner but this camera has been wonderful. It is easy to use and figure out. I'm still learning all the features but I have a book to help figure everything out.

small and compact for a dslr. Great for the beginner or someone that likes to keep a dslr with them everywhere they go but doesn't want to run the risk of a high dollar investment in a lost, stolen, or destroyed dslr.

Purchased my first dslr camera and its been easy to use. Only thing I wish it had was the wireless picture transfer, but I like that it is compatible with Minolta lenses.
