After purchasing a large amp and subs from a local mom and pop retail location,I realized that smaller doesn't mean better in the customer service end.So knowing my Cevy Silverado was in desperate need of a system upgrade,I found myself lost in the car audio section of my local Best Buy.After being told that "the days of just swapping radios" was over i was steered to the install area. There the technician explains what all a complete upgrade entails, being sure that I was understanding all his technical jargon. After approx.45 min.(get this)he apologized for being hurried. It seems he was missing a concert he had planned as a surprise for his wife.I told him to go that I could come back,he refused and spent the better part of an hour going into more detail and making sure he and I were on the same page. Now it was I who was apologizing as I left telling him I would return on the next Saturday, where he had blocked out the entire day for my install.well I will admit as he was going into the ninth hour I was a little nervous. How could he possibly get all those wires that he had soldered together into that small area of and behind my dash.Well never panicking and with great precision and care he brought it all together like the true professional he is.Now I'm the proud owner of the best
(And loudest)car audio system in the triple cities.Looks like it was done at the factory and works flawlessly. Couldn't be happier.

I had a Pioneer single din with 7" flip-out display, 2 6.5 inch Alpine component speakers with an amp for each set (and some custom fitting and cutting that needed to be done to mount both sets of tweeters), subwoofer and subwoofer amp, custom subwoofer box that I purchased separately (that still needed to be trimmed down a bit to fit even better in my trunk), rear view camera, auxiliary cable, audio video to hdmi cable, and a partridge in a pear tree all installed by the two Best Buy Geek Squad car techs. I am soooooooooo glad I paid the few bucks to let them do all this because it ensured that everything was well organized and coordinated and tested together. One of the installers was present from the very beginning of the process as I worked with two installers and a variety of sales reps to piece together all the stuff for the system. The second installer who came up with a lot of the suggestions for the "extra" customization such as cutting and making custom mounts for the two sets of tweeters ended up quitting before the install took place. Thankfully they hired another installer who had more expertise with the custom cutting/fitting because the original installer who was still there was honest in saying he wasn't comfortable with doing all of that. I appreciated his honesty. Another benefit of getting Best Buy to do all the installation is that if there are ever any problems (I also purchased the Geek Squad protection plans for everything except the head unit) I know I can get everything taken care of under one roof. In regards to purchasing the head unit warranty elsewhere, Geek Squad ensured me that if I ever do need to send it in, they'll take it out and put it back in since they installed it. I really appreciate all the hard work and care they put into getting all this together for me. It was well worth the price. Also, because of the 15-day return policy I was able to go back and get some of the installations fees refunded because of sale that started within the 15-day time frame. Much appreciated. Hope this helps. Matthew 7:12

Before I got my installation done, Cory, the Geek Squad installer was upfront and let me know about my door panels possibly cracking when he installed my speakers. My truck was older and some of the plastics on my year model can be brittle and break when trying to remove them. He gave me some other options like installing the speakers underneath the seat. He was very knowledgeable in everything I asked. He also wasn’t pushy on selling me the other options. I ended up not being able to do the speakers underneath the seat because I had previously bought an under seat storage compartment and the speakers wouldn’t fit there. He said he’s done numerous trucks like mine but he wanted to let me know about the plastic before he installed them. He said we could install the speakers behind the panels no problem but he wanted to make me aware upfront of any possible damage that might occur. I really appreciated that and trusted he knew what he was doing. I ended up deciding to take the risk and have him install them behind the panels. I said take as long as you want. Needless to say, I came back and there was nothing broke at all. He installed my speakers AND my stereo in less time than what was planned. He had also installed my girlfriends radio about a year earlier and did great work. He also thanked me for having my interior clutter free after doing the installation. If every Geek Squad experience was as good as mine with Cory, I would definitely recommend Geek Squad audio services to anyone with car audio needs.

They did a good job. Explained everything very well. Helped me choose out what speakers would sound good for my car.

The same young lady at the Downers Grove store installed a new head unit and new speakers into my wife's Jeep Wrangler over the course of two different weekends. On both occasions she did a fantastic job. She is also very knowledgeable and able to explain things in terms non-car stereo people can understand. She also came across very trustworthy in terms of advice concerning which head unit / speaker combo to go for. Highly recommended.

I dropped off my vehicle early for speaker replacement. The technicians completed the work ahead of schedule and the speakers sound fantastic. I would recommend the geek squad at best buy anytime!!
