I like the camera, does the job. Great light fixture

Bought this to replace a filed sensor/light arrangement. Unit has plastic housing but it has faired well. Actually ended up buying a second one as result of great light and camera performance. App for iOS and Android had some issues on certain mobile device.

You are taking a chance that this product will work. Customer Service is horrible. Once you go through 5 minutes of listening to recorded questions and pushing numbers on your keypad you will wait a longer period for a representative answer the phone if you are lucky to understand their English. Then they will tell you it needs Level 2 Support and that they are busy and will call you in one to two hours. They expect you to be able to answer the phone when it is convenient for them, not for you. When they don't call you back, which happens, then you have to go through setting up another call back. they will make you pay for postage to send the product back and then in a couple of weeks if they find out it is defective, they will send you a new product. Spend more money and get a product that works.

I originally purchased the ring system and it was double the cost of the swann. My installer suggested this item for me. The entire system that includes more cameras was a lower cost than trying to do the complete ring system

1st of all it was very easy to install, I simply removed my preexisting porch light, and wired the Swann camera light to the existing wires. Then I removed the light switch from inside and disconnected the switch and used a wire nut to jumper the two wires together so the camera remains on and can't be accidently switched off. Then I reinstalled the switch with no wires attached, and reinstalled the cover so the wall looks like normal etc... 2nd. I downloaded the App onto my phone, and followed directions to link the camera to my phone and to my wifi. 3rd I adjusted it to where I could see the best. I also had an issue with the bright sun in the background turning people into silhouette figures, but after angling it downwards a bit I was able to get the camera to pick up details even in the shade of my porch. I did have an issue after install when I changed the setting to home, and then back to away... after setting it back to away it would no longer respond, trigger, notify me, record events etc... I hard reset the camera using the button on the back, and relinked it to my wifi and hone etc and it's working fine in the away mode again. I just turn down the sensitivity at night now instead of using the home setting. Over all I really like it. It's fun watching people walk by and I already busted my room mate not locking the deadbolt like I ask him to when he goes to work. I like the live setting also so I can just pop onto my phone and see what's going on at my house while I'm out of town, or just because I can. For the price it cant be beat, there is a lot of value and peace of mind and a great camera with high details, notifications, recordings, free cloud storage, and you can download videos that you would like to keep as well. I would highly recommend this to all my friends, and everyone else interested in home security as well.

This floodlight camera is great inside out—the device itself has pretty good features and is backed up by an easy-to-use app. First of all, installation is easy. I just installed it on a standard junction box-- the usual ones we have for outdoor lighting. Swann has a youtube video that guided me on the installation, and the wires provided, matched my current (now previous) light wire colors. Then I downloaded the app that helped me pair set it up—which was really easy. The device itself and the app have a good balance of simplicity. I don’t have to figure out how to turn lights on or off manually or activate the siren or use its built-in two-way radio. Let me tell you, this device is BRIGHT. And the good thing is, I can easily adjust the brightness through the app. The brightness is like daylight—even on a gloomy day. That brightness makes it easier for the video output to be clear. With the google integration, I linked my Swann account to my Google Home. I simply say—“Ok Google, show me swann camera on my TV” and the stream is on my 55 inch TV with good quality! Motion sensitivity is good as well, and you can adjust its sensitivity in the app. I have not tried the heat sensing—I figured it should be as good. But any detections easily come up as notifications. So I can monitor what it sees. I really like this device. It looks really and sturdy and seems like it could last a long time outdoors. I just got a firmware upgrade as I was setting it up—gives me peace-of-mind that this device will be relevant for a good amount of time. I really like it!

Swann encourages migrating to Swann Security because the Safe by Swann app is expiring June 30. The thing is: The camera hasn’t functioned properly since switching to the app. And even worse, Swann's tech support seems to not know how to fix the problem. Yet I (we) can’t go back to using the Safe by Swann app which worked perfectly. ISSUES: can’t view live, can’t load clips, keep disconnecting from WiFi showing 95 signal...the list goes on. (Check out the reviews at Apple App Store if you have an iPhone.) I have been experiencing this issue for over a week now, and only had the camera for little over 3 months.

Wont connected to my wifi, went an bought an extender an still nothing. Ended buying the ring flood light an that work on the first try without the extender.

Save up your money and buy this product, worth the wait, highly recommend

If you buy Swann you can free services for 7 days but RIng you have to pay every month so I don't like ring and it's more expensive good bye ring

After lots of online research I am glad I purchased this swann floodlight camera.

These app and my floodlight are crap.... The app that I had to migrate was bad, but these one by far it's been a lot worse. If I could give these app 0 stars I would. I regret so much not going with the ring floodlight when I made my purchase even though there app is not all that great as well, but at least there's i can actually record and see my recordings. I run a small business we're i have to interact with a lot of people, and I will make sure that I tell them "Not to buy your product".

The value on this spot light is great, purchased it at BB on sale, easy set up and no monthly fees, great quality view on the app.

This floodlight and security camera is exactly what I was looking for. The free cloud storage is perfect for my needs.

I bought this camera one year ago and it has been operational for about a total of one month this entire time. Customer Service actually sent me a new camera from Swan and that one will not go operational at all. I highly recommend staying away from swan products because Customer Service is not helpful after hours of being on the phone with them and chat negative results pretty much wasted my money going to try Arlo or blink or something like that.

I came across the Swann 1080p WiFi Security Floodlight at a good time. My floodlight had been in service for many years, and I figured that I were going to upgrade, it might as well be to add not just a replacement light source, but some additional features as well. I’m glad I did, but it’s not quite perfect. As others have mentioned, installing the floodlight is straightforward. It has the standard black, white and ground wires, which should match up to your junction box. I did not have a ground wire that I could use, but neither did the previous light fixture, so I charged ahead. The package comes with all the hardware you’ll need to install the light, including wire nuts. Once I had the fixture hooked into the power source, I was ready to get the camera online. Pairing the camera is also quite easy. The camera itself creates its own wifi “network” that you join initially through the Safe app that you download on your phone. Once connected, you go through the steps to join your home wifi network, and then you’re in business. All interaction with the camera is done through the app. There are three modes available: home (off by default), away (armed by default) and night (armed by default). The main settings that you can vary for each mode are camera armed, and camera sensitivity. My main objection at this point is that the app does not provide the ability to schedule when each mode will be active. It would be nice to be able to do that so that you won’t forget to arm the unit when you want it to be armed. Since you can only interact with the unit through the app, if you forgot and left it off, other family members cannot simply flip the light switch to turn it on. They would also have to have the app and be signed in to your account. Because of this, I decided to just leave the unit armed at all times. Once you’ve got your sensitivity settings as you like them, there’s really nothing more you need to do. Setting up your account with Swann gives you 2 days of video storage, but you can upgrade your account to premium if you need more. The video storage feature is pretty handy, and you can download video clips if you want to keep them. You can even capture a frame as a photo as well. By default, the app will notify you each time that motion is detected. If you’re very security conscious, you may want that, but otherwise it’s probably overkill. The app is well laid out and easy to use. You can check the live stream at any time, which is pretty nice. I’m using the iOS version, and sometimes it would spin endlessly when I tried to see the live view, in which case I had to restart the app to get it to work. That’s annoying, but not the end of the world. You can also manually turn on the light and siren. Lastly, there’s also a speaker/microphone which allows you to carry on a conversation with people in proximity to the light. I can envision a number of ways that could be useful. I’m very happy with this floodlight, but I did experience a few times when it seemed a bit glitchy. Switching from one mode to another sometimes caused its motion-sensing light trigger not to work. If I turned the light on and back off manually, it would start to work again. I’m not sure if that is something that still needs a little work or not. Fortunately, it’s easy to update the firmware in the unit, so I would think it’ll only get better. The more I use it, the more I like it. It’s fun to “check in” with a view of my driveway whenever I want, and I can also see what time of day my kids actually got up and got out of the house. If Swann adds scheduling, and if the few glitches don’t reappear, this would be nearly perfect, but I will withhold a star until then. If you need a floodlight that also provides some additional security capabilities, you won’t go wrong with this one. Plus, it can be a part of a complete network of security cameras, all managed through the same app. I’m glad I got it!

Bought this camera last year and loved it. Worked great . No issues until last week when was told I had to migrate to Swann security app. Since then the app crashes,disconnects frequently,can't use playback,lights doesn't come on.then light won't go off. ??? Never had any issues with the old app. Please let us go back to the previous app or will be forced to trash this unit for another brand.

The swann security camera works as advertised. Depending on location strong WiFi is needed.
