    This a quite a terrible product. Check the reviews on Swann's website before you purchase this. Has major issues with camera fogging up often and making the footage unusable. Also was trying to update the camera firmware and it was not going through. Tried chatting with customer support and they were just pointing out to some older firmware online that did not match what the latest one was on their website. Returned this and went with a Lorex bundle. Worked out to be similar in price without the terrible reviews, since I did not want to risk putting them up on my 25 foot eves only to pull them down in a month or so.

      Hello MarioFan. We are sorry to hear about your experience with your Swann Security product. The cameras included in this kit are rated for indoor and outdoor use. Moisture into the lens of the camera is often a result of the cameras being used outside of their recommended operating temperature. We recommend you install under some sheltered location where possible but if this is not suitable for your location simply aiming the camera to look a little downward can stop moisture from settling on the camera lens.     I've used both wired and wireless cameras in the past, but my shop security cameras have been overdue for an upgrade, and I wanted to use power over ethernet wired cameras, so thought this set would be perfect. It comes with 4 cameras, but has 8 channels so I could add up to 4 more cameras if I wanted to, which I might end up doing later on. That's a great feature for people who want to monitor inside/outside, or have a larger building or property. It comes with everything you need for a general/simple setup. If you want to run wires a longer distance you'll need to purchase more wire like I did. The NVR and power over ethernet were the deciding factors for me in my needs right now. Having to run wire behind walls is NOT my favorite thing to do, but since this was for my shop I didn't mind and it was nearly as difficult as it would have been if I was running this through my home. You only need to run the ethernet cable and nothing else which made this easy! Again, not having to run through walls/ceilings made the process very smooth. Once I ran the wires and setup the cameras the rest was easy! I made some camera adjustments here and there so ensure I had coverage over everything I wanted and I was done, time to test it out! Its important to note that if you're checking the app and reviewing footage, it wont be in 4k. Yes, the quality is UP TO 4k, but to take advantage of that you really need to be in front of the monitor or download the footage. This isn't a Swann specific issue, all camera I've used are the same way. The cameras are very good quality and I've noticed the difference in night vision specifically. These camera night vision is VERY MUCH improved over my last set of cameras. The 1 TB hard drive is pretty much par for the course with this type of system, Id expect no less and it fits the bill. The app is nice for live viewing, but otherwise its not the easiest or most intuitive to use. The good thing is that's easily fixed by Swann with an app update, so I hope that comes in the future. The viewing and adjusting the settings on the "hub" monitor was much easier and nice.

    Cameras leak rain water

    7 out of 8 bullet cameras leaked rain water after the first rain. Night vision is grainy and not clear. Cameras are easy to blind with its own IR. If the camera is close to the wall IR light reflection blinds the camera and gives you a bright white blind spot on the screen. NVR keeps loosing 2-3 cameras constantly. Terrible customer service! Not recommend

    Great PoE camera system, I can zoom, flash the lights and talk all from the comfort of my phone. Record every moment, the base is small and sleek compared to this big clunking boxes. Definitely worth every dollar I spent on it.

    This Swann 4K security camera system is a very nice system. It has 4 4K UHD cameras, and an NVR with a 1TB hard drive. It also comes with all cables and mounting hardware needed to install. The cameras themselves feel very nice and well-made. They are rated for indoor/outdoor use, and they feel like they will withstand the outdoors just fine, although, I still installed mine under cover just to be safe. Once they are installed, setup isn't too bad. When you turn on the NVR for the first time, it walks you through creating passwords and setting up a Swann account to download the smart phone app. The user interface for the NVR isn't bad as far as these things go, but just in general, these UIs still feel like they are about a decade or more behind current consumer tech. That being said, if you are comfortable with tech, you shouldn't have much trouble navigating and changing settings. However, there is so much you can tweak, that even I don't know what most of it is. But the stuff I did need, like motion zones, schedules, etc, was pretty easy to find and adjust. It's nice to know that there's so much flexibility if I ever decided to dig in and figure out what all the other stuff I can tweak is. One thing I will mention about the NVR that I noticed right away, it is quiet! I have had a few other NVRs in the past, and they always had very loud fans that ran 24/7. This one is whisper quiet, to the point you can hear the HDD writing if the room is quiet enough. The picture quality of the cameras is very nice. The 4K really shines here, and you can zoom in close enough to see things like license plates or other important details. They also have a nice wide field of view. The night vision works pretty well, and if you have it set up to turn on the lights when motion is detected, it works even better, because then you get color night vision. The cameras also feature heat sensing technology, which helps reduce false motion readings greatly. My old system didn't have this, and I have a few windmills in my yard which would constantly set them off. Even when I set the motion zones to exclude them, I would still get dozens of false motion notifications every day. However, with the Swann system, I haven't noticed any false notifications. Once I set up my zones, I really only get notifications when there is actual movement in those zones, and not just wind blowing or something like that. I am really quite impressed with the camera's performance in this regard. The one area I have been disappointed with, is the Swann Security App. The app is fine for just viewing your cameras live, and maybe reviewing recorded events. Outside of that, it leaves a lot to be desired. First off, you can't really do much configuration on the app. Like, you can't set or edit your motion zones. You can't set or edit schedules. This is all stuff you have to do on the NVR. Next, as far as I can tell, there's no way to save clips or videos straight from the app. When I looked up documentation online, it said there should be a share button on the videos, but when you look in the app, there is no share button. I think that just applied to Swann's other wireless cameras. With these cameras, I think the only way to get video off of them is to plug a USB stick into the NVR itself. Lastly, and one of the more annoying things to me, is that the notifications could use some work. First of all, all notifications just say "Motion Detected". It would be nice if it would distinguish between motion, people, or cars. Also, when you tap the notification, you would think it would take you to the recorded event, but nope. It takes you to a live view of the camera. Which I guess is fine if you click right when the event is happening. However, if you see the notification a few seconds/minutes/hours later, taking you to the live view is useless. I would like it to take me to the recorded event. Overall, I am just very disappointed in the app. In conclusion, this Swann 4K Camera system is a very nice system. The camera quality is top notch. The NVR can be a bit complicated to navigate, but is par for the course for these wired systems, and shouldn't be a problem if you're pretty comfortable with technology. The tech in the cameras works really well to cut down on false motion notifications. The biggest drawback to the whole system is the Swann Security App. It just really holds back what would otherwise be a superb product. If this is going to be the primary way you interact with this system (which I assume is true for most residential customers), it's kind of hard to recommend over other options. They really only need to make a few minor tweaks to really address the biggest issues. If they do this, then I would have no problem bumping up my rating to 5 stars. However, as it stands, the app alone is holding this great product back.

    Set up was really easy since this not my first system. Since my house looks like i have ar I und the clock security i decided to put these up inside my home to watch my pets while im out Since you can log in to the app to view the camera feed it was really easy to track my pet. I put all 4 up in favorite spots. And loggin in and warch via the app takes a few seconds for each feed to load. Now remember that you are using your homes data to supply this feed while remote watching. So if you are in slower wifi it may take longer to load and something images are choppy. I found this out because my isp Changed my data plan by mistake . Once it was fixed no more choppy video loading. Onto the actual cameras. They work very well the base is metal and the very nice. What evey the coating seema like it would be very durable for outside use. So this uses 60 ft ethernet cables which provide the power so you dont need to run a separate cable. The weather pack connection is nice. This system is built to withstand many different installation types. The camera and night vision is on point. I used this one time to see how well it tracked my pet. All i can say is works well enough to track my pet . Great app setup and usage. Cameras are high quality Easy install. They even provide a professional installation card if you dont feel comfortable. 1tb hard can be upgrade. 4 camera and 60 foot cables included You can use longer runs. Cat 5e or cat 6 is what i would recommend for longer than the included cable.

    This is a pleasure of a system to use, install and tinker/tweak with. The NVR and hard drive are easy to use, software app is fantastic, as is the interconnection with google, Alexa and even chromecast devices. The single Poe cables are well built if a bit short at 60 feet, I did not use them. I already had older poe cameras. I swapped those cameras out and use these new cameras with the swann nvr. Th spotlights on the cameras make nighttime view in COLOR fantastic. The heat detection is great and really does work. I was pleasantly surprised. The all in one kit with stickers, cameras, nvr, cables and mo7nting hardware were easy to use. The setup was quick given I had Poe cables already in place. These cameras are a great improvement over my old cameras. The detail with 4K is just overwhelming. The hard drive so far is working flawlessly and playback is easy both on the attached 4K tv or via the app on my phone. I have the hdmi hooked up to my 4K tv on the ground floor and the vga port to another monitor located in my bedroom via a wireless video transfer connection. The overall quality of the cameras seem top notch as does the weatherproof build. The NVR feels solid and ease of operation is fairly quiet as the hard drive records. The overall price is good given it is 4K, cameras have both btw night vision and color night vision, the very functional app, the ability to use with your smart devices and if on sale I th8nk will be a steal.

    I am very impressed with this system compared to my previous security system options (including an older Swann system). Because I have had experience installing similar systems in the past I felt comfortable self installing although if that tasks feels daunting Swann helps you out with info to contact for professional installation. The installation was fairly easy but again...it helps that I have had prior experience. The cameras feel quality made unlike some past cameras I have installed but what's more important is the actual quality of the videos recorded. These cameras are probably the best and most crisp ones I have used to date. I also love the heat sensing detector feature that helps reduce false motion triggers (something that started to drive me crazy with my previous system alerting to false motion from simple things like lawn decorations and wind chimes). The NVR is far quieter than a previous one I used which was super noisy when the fans would initiate. The app is decent although I would love to see some updates for it in the future to make it a bit more. It would be nice if you could do virtually all or at least most of the editing of settings or setup of things like motion zones in the app versus having to do it via the NVR but for what most will use the app for (viewing cameras live) it is great. Overall this is a great option for anyone that wants a high quality camera system.

    Lasted only a year before going bad. Won’t turn on. Tech support is a joke.

Please note, that Swann offers a one-year warranty provided a copy of your receipt or up to 36 months with valid registration on a Secure + Plan. If your unit became damaged shortly after your 12-month warranty was up please contact a member of our customer support team for further assistance.
